That was really interesting, starting with the crazy false start at the beginning and ending with the gate. Waymo handled the gate situation well. I can understand residences being happy using Waymo and also guests arriving by Waymo, but on the app it should inform you that your destination is inside the gated community and make you tap through an acknowledgment screen.
39:15 You're mom is saying that maybe you can have a self driving car with the Waymo software. I basically have that with my personally owned Tesla, and their software is becoming almost as good was Waymo's software and may surpass it. I'm sure you know that many people are saying that Tesla version 12.5 is another step change in ability and comfort. I still have dreams of entering my car into the robotaxi network and having my car make money for me while I'm at work.
@@aprilj1838 You don't need turn signal stalks in a robotaxi, and Tesla has said that the vast majority of Teslas produced will have robotaxi capability soon! Tesla has removed the turn signal stalks in all of its cars except for the very popular Model Y. Instead they have buttons which are pressed by your left thumb to indicate. I've heard that it takes a few days to get used to but it becomes second nature quickly.
@@JJRicks I believe there’s 3 total. One in the front above the mirror that’s above the center console. One in the back above the middle seat, and one only visible when you open the trunk

Joel, your mom is so funny when she reacts to Waymo

@@puregeroPretty cool!

Yes, but I don’t want a Tesla… I don’t think they come with turn signals… I will wait for Waymo.
@@aprilj1838 Do you think Waymo will ever sell a car (or the sensors and computers) to the public? I seriously doubt it.
@@Luke_Starkenburgyeah, that’s the idea. They didn’t start this business to be a taxi service forever.

Why there is no camera to monitor interior?
@@nopus1 there is, I just don't show it because I don't want people to look at me lol
