I can picture of Sandy getting more energy back from his regenerative braking system due to the fact that you also might get better aerodynamic abilities trailing other cars...
People may note their gps coordinates on the x and y, but they rarely look at their z coordinates. If you have a downhill trip, that would be the only thing. I mean, you can't have a perpetual motion machine. lol
Elon was right: Tesla dug its own grave with CT. Unfortunately, less ability to modify the design, bring down materials and manufacturing costs relative to peer trucks. But nonetheless an interesting design and manufacturing achievement, even if it's unlikely to yield financial success
Yeah, they really did a great job using that transparent smoked clear. I believe Farzad said it's original use is for tinting headlights / taillights. Looks amazing. Farzad, if you could talk with the guys that loaned it to you to get more information about it would be great!
When cybertruck wasn't released , all the critics say ah so boring and ugly stainless Steel, silver colour... once wrap...omg it look so nice that all the celebrities wanna get one.
Thanks for the shout out! We really enjoyed working on that Cybertruck. For those that are curious. It is wrapped in a tinted Paint Protection Film vs vinyl. PPF is much thicker and will last longer. Plus because it is tinted, at some angles it looks like a glossy grey metallic color but at other angles and lighting you can see through it enough to still notice the stainless steel texture beneath it. We're bias of course but we think this is the best wrap option anyone has done so far. Our shop is in North Austin/Cedar Park, feel free to reach out!
This video is phenomenal. Between the video quality, the smooth filming, Farzad's natural conversational questioning, and Sandy's energy and absolute planet of knowledge, it's an engaging watch.
This video should have more views. Sandy is one of the rare personalities, where you want to watch every video he's in. There's hundreds of people making videos about cars, but only 2 or 3 of them are must see TV. Jason Cammisa on the Hagerty channel is another one.
Anything to amaze and delight that man, I couldn't imagine any greater feeling than doing your difficult job in a field well understood by somone like him and then having him give your work that nod of approval...that is all anyone ever wanted when they got to the top of their field if they have their head screwed on right.
Sandy Munro: It's like everyone else at Munro - nobody listens to me - LOL I kind of doubt that. Sandy has a particular style - but it is really enjoyable and based on a lot of knowledge and facts.
Hey Sandy, a whole bus load of children around your cyber truck. That’s awesome. We have a lot of young people looking at our cyber truck and I have a little guest book that I have the adults sign for me! I enjoy that too but it’s a joy to see all the young peoples reaction. They know more about it than most of the adults with them. Great interview with Sandy; big improvement Fazad… Thank you both. Lester
Best most informative fun interview I've seen in ages. Sandy is a Legend and Farzad is so well informed and a joy to watch. Loved the inception of the Cybertruck back in 2019 and now totally amazed how Tesla have pulled this off. I can't wait to see this Cybertruck be the most adapted truck on the planet and all its variations that will come to fruition! Hope to see one here in deepest West Wales UK.
Farz my man! Your authenticity is for real! No way Sandy would feel comfortable any other way! He digs you! And for good reason. Best CT review on the web! Great job!
Sandy, this is Ari, I gave you food in NJ on our Plaid trip. The range calculator is based on previous driving use and consumption. If you had been driving harder prior to the stop and go that day ( the day before or earlier or were on the highway etc), the calculation is based on that showing 111 miles left. Then you drove in stop and go which consumes less and is more efficient driving so the new calculation is based on lower consumption which is less which would then show a higher range by the time you were done the stop and go hence a higher estimate and less charge to have appeared as had been used.
Good explanation, came here to say same thing. Another anecdote - I drove from Milwaukee to Chicago and had 75% SoC getting into downtown Chicago. Changed to last 5 mi range meter so based on only stop and go , and at 75% I had 417 miles of range left. You get some much more range in the city than on the highway it’s nuts.
Some lovely words from Sandy about women and his wife , he makes a good point , doesnt matter what religion you are , a good woman is all you need in life. Who can argue with that.
Sandy, I waited four years two months 16 days for my cyber truck. I’m now 85 and my drivers license has to be renewed next year. It was still worth the wait. Sandy, you’re only 75 you are just a kid!! LOL. Lester and Suzette Keep on trucking. And I have a Trimotor on Reservation also next year [after I pay my taxes] ha ha.
Love this. Sandy you have taught me so much about Tesla. Started with the cybertruck factory tour. Now I'm hooked..I would love to have the cybertruck but I'm 73 with a tight budget. Your the best Thank You
Great video except for Sandy's argument that it is not a work truck because the frunk is not comparable to the Lightning. I bet 99% of work truck don't even have a frunk! BTW, the Cybertruck bed is longer and has a larger closeable storage capacity (with the tonneau cover) than the lightning. The load capacity is also greater at 2500lbs.
There is a mining company with big electric dirt haulers. They have a route that has full trucks going downhill and empty ones coming up. For the most part, they never have to charge as their energy comes from the decending dirt.
Cybertruck is one of the most stunning creations I've ever seen. It truly is! Farzad, you and Sandy knocked this video out of the park ...what a great combo! I learned so much from both of you and the time just flew by. Kudo's guys!
3/15/24 And the winner is...Amprius Technologies, Inc. !!! For the second year running, amprius has been voted by our battery industry peers as Best of Show at the 41st International Battery Seminar and Exhibit! For developing and bringing to market the 400Wh/kg, 10C charge/discharge cell that blew the minds of our industry peers and brought home the coveted prize this year.
Stop and go traffic with some elevation drop will not use much or any battery. If the elevation drop is big enough you’ll end up with more energy in the battery. I was driving over the Grapevine in California and was shocked when the nav battery estimate was telling me I’d arrive at the Tesla supercharger with two percent more in my battery and I was still many miles from the top. It was spot on when I arrived.
I met a gentleman in Phoenix Arizona that just got his cybertruck 3 days before, i was at a hotel across the street from his work office and my sister spotted it while on a walk. He came out at 9p.m. and gave myself my dad and sister a full tour for 10 minutes before he left. Absolutely the best stock vehicle i have even seen. The build quality was 👌 this was the second one i have been around. First was on display in miami. Thank you to that gentleman!
1) That wrap should be standard issue for the cybertruck. Amazing improvement. 2) The 111mi vs 115mi anomaly is the reason that displaying the percent remaining rather than range is the way to go. The range has higher order corrections that can give curious results like Mr Munro experienced.
Awesome interview. Gary Black probably woke up out of his sleep when Sandy mentioned advertising being the catalyst for anti Tesla manufactured FUD. 😂 I That wrap is phenomenal. I still wonder how it's not capable of work with 2.5k payload, 11k towing and 6ft bed. 🤔
Great interview and exchange . . . very informative. Farzad!!! What an AMAZING backdrop you arranged! Empty rooftop parking lot with amazing architecture surrounding you - gorgeous.
The best Sandy Monroe interview I've seen. Also, if I were Elon, I would have made damn sure Monroe got a Cybertruck to tear down PDQ. What an ally to have!

That truck looks amazing. Too bad I’m too far from TX
The wrap makes the cyber truck look like a Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk.

Or an office building
This wrap is sexy
But it’s is not built as mass human killing machine like the F-117. Making it much better.

This video is phenomenal. Between the video quality, the smooth filming, Farzad's natural conversational questioning, and Sandy's energy and absolute planet of knowledge, it's an engaging watch.
Thanks Buck!!!
Sandy started off a little rusty, like he was on drugs or something
Sandy's enthusiasm is infectious and is probably why he's so popular. Not to mention, he's a walking encyclopedia of engineering principles.

Farzad and Sandy together is a GREAT COMBO!! Thanks Eric for your awesome camera work here and on the Munro UA-cam channel! I LOVED THIS!!!
Sandy & Farzad, what a fantastic collaboration! You guys ROCK!
That is probably the nicest cybertruck surface finish I've seen. Love it.
that wrap is incredible
Thanks! 😊
What colour is that??
That's the most beautiful truck that I've ever seen.
Agreed. Funny part is, I thought it was ugly when it was first unveiled, but it grew on me big time
I agree!
I freaking LOVE that wrap. I usually prefer the raw steel but this is the perfect balance of natural and swag. It's gorgeous on the CyberTruck.
Lots of love to you both. Accessibility to knowledge far beyond what I ever imagined I could grasp in a lifetime!
Sandy Munro: It's like everyone else at Munro - nobody listens to me - LOL
I kind of doubt that. Sandy has a particular style - but it is really enjoyable and based on a lot of knowledge and facts.
