TCM 2. Was the best. The first date my husband and I had was a movie night at his house. We each picked out a movie then choose one together. Mine was TCM2. It is part of the reason my husband and I are together all these years later(20+ years). The movie had my husband and I realizing that we both loved the same movies. We watched TCM2, Child'splay 2 and Army of Darkness. It is still one of the best movie nights of my life.
I was blown away by the attention to detail the production crew did on the Leatherface house. That was some true dedication to making sure it was authentic. The film itself I personally thought had some good moments, and the twist at the end was definitely different, but it could have been a better film overall.
Paul Hammer that's what ruined it for me. Leatherface being an anti-hero just kills the horror behind him. If we cheer him on, what's supposed to be scary now?
Excellent video. A great analysis if the Texas chainsaw franchise, an it's nice to see at least one other person didn't hate 3D. You should have also mentioned not just what the original did for slasher movies, but the massive impact it had in independent movies in general, but otherwise, everything was covered well.
The dance, man, the dance. As a kid I was just in awe of that strange chainsaw dance at the end. That and the squeal and hammer smack before Leatherface draws the shutter door shut were visual gold.
As a huge fan of the original, I found the 3D remake to be downright insulting. I don't know what's the obsessions people have of turning good old Leatherface into an anti hero. I give the Platinum one credit, it at least tried to do something different, one I found it to be a decent remake. Chainsaw Massacre 3D is like the Jurassic World of horror buy worse. It claims to respect the original but it doesn't really understand what made the original so good in the first place.
Because, as mentioned in this very review, it would have likely upped their budget to a point where the film itself just wouldn't get made. Costumes, sets, details...EVERYTHING we see would have to reflect a varied time period.
Karstens Creations..I don't think setting a movie in the 1990s would be that difficult nor expensive to pull off. Clothing, vehicles and styles, while they are different obviously, from the 2000s, they aren't that different...its not like setting a movie in the 1960s or 70s. Especially clothing, we weren't wearing bell bottoms and wearing huge afros in the 90s, its really not too too different from today. It would've made way more sense to just set this in the 90's. Either set it in the 90's or make Heather the correct age she would be setting it in 2013.
Or maybe cast an actress who's 39 or older? It's like they broke logic just to cast a young up and coming actress, because no slasher fan could enjoy a movie starring an almost middle aged person.
GoodBadFlicks ugh! i've gotta re-watch this movie. By the way why don't you ever review foreign movies? And Final Destination like we mention a few months ago :)

You didn't show the terrible CGI in the final "battle" scene where that dude got pulled into a grinder. Surely they could have come up with a practical effect to get ground up? It's also kind of weird that they try to present the murderous hillbilly as the anti-hero, and do it with a "family comes first" message. The townspeople were kind of assholeish about certain things, but they weren't cannibalistic murderers who picked off countless victims over the years. Nice attention to detail doesn't cover up the story deficiencies and messed up timeline....or the fact that Leatherface was way too old at that point. The first movie is the best...anything after that can happily be ignored.
The original from the 70's is the best. The grossness of that house is unreal. It grossed me and my wife out. The 2003 version is ok, lots of jump scares.
@@davidabest7195 I agree, but I can see why fans of the first wouldn't like it. But Lefty hunting down the family...that was just awesome. They need to bring Lefty back.
I actually like 3. After the first I like 2 OKAY even though I dont quite go for the slapstick vibe, the third one I like best after the original not because its just some jaw droppingly AMAZING FILM like the original or something but its just fun as shit and entertaining as hell. Viggo is great also. "Why cant you people leave us alone???" "CUZ WE'RE HUNGRY!"
You know I love your channel man, but I have to RESPECTFULLY disagree with you here.... I gave the film three more chances, but I couldn't change my opinion. Its nice that they paid so much attention to the recreation of the house, just to burn it down, but its a shame they didn't put that much effort into the dialogue, story and characters. The images to the original like the red butt shorts, girl in freezer etc. Were nice, but anyone can do that. And you talked about the remake having a bodybuilder type leather face, but this films leatherface actually is the tallest and biggest to ever play him, way taller then original. And I'm sorry but the casting was horrible, trey songz simply can't act and the fact that his music was in the background in a lot of his scenes is just in poor taste. Oh and that line "do your thing cuz" is a abomination to humanity!! I love you man, but I can't defend this film.... But I do love tour videos!!
Can I ask when you first saw the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre?? Were you a kid..teen what age??I first saw the original as a kid and it was brutally horrific.. And scary to Me as a kid..So what age were you when you saw the film?
I got it on dvd with Christmas from my mother when I was like six. She told me that she had seen it at around my age, and that she wanted me to grow up loving horror like she did. And I did.
DarkKnightFanBoy i agree, the first half hour was alright, then it just went ridiculous at the end, all the 3D felt gimmicky as hell, the main character was suddenly accepting of the guy who just chainsawed all her friends, and oh my god that movie had some of the worst cgi blood I've ever seen during the main villains death
I disagree, 3D was awful, leather face isn't an antihero, he would never be a good guy. "Go get em cuz" he turns to the main characters side because she is his cousin XD.
I've given the movie two chances, but I just can't get into it. It starts out well, the attention to detail and respect to the original is much appreciated, but the fact that they screwed up the time line so badly is enough to derail the entire movie, how the hell did they mess that up? Just set it in the 90's for fuck's sake. Not only that, but after the 20 minute mark the movie becomes the most generic, by the numbers slasher flick imaginable, even the gore can't save it becuase it's suprisingly tame and a waste of KNB's talents. I'd choose the 2003 remake and 2006 prequel over Texas chainsaw 3D easily. They might not be classics, but they have better characters, better atmosphere and better gore.
Finally someone who enjoyed the film. And not ranting. I like this more than the Original. Plus Leatherface is cool. I don't understand people's reasoning for hating this film. But everyone's likes are different. Anyway awesome review.
Whoa... I gave up on the franchise long ago after all the remakes and robot legs and had no idea they made an ACTUAL sequel! I am so excited to watch it! Thanks for introducing me to it! Cannot wait for tonight!
I would like to take this time and say thank you. I'm a huge horror films fan and I did not know all the information you provided in this video. After watching your review on this film and Silent Hill, you have filled my mind with new facts and details. I can't help but follow your work now. I will definitely be subscribing and checking out more videos on your channel when I get a chance.
Ok, you have actually changed my mind about this one. The fucked up timeline and the "welcome to Texas" line really pissed me off, but I'll give this another shot. Great video friend!
GoodBadFlicks Well hello there. Didnt think creator of this channel would reply. I must say I really enjoy this channel and in most cases with Your rewievs I agree 100% with Your opinions. Spend some time yesterday and today to watch most of the videos on Your channel. Really good solid stuff :) Am curious-Will You do in the future review of remake of friday the 13'th ?
Bender1988s Cool, thanks! Glad you enjoy the stuff. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, I just like to put out my perspective on things. Probably not going to do a video on the F13 remake, I wasn't a fan. I did think Derek Mears was a good Jason though. I did do a sort of full length riff on the movie a while ago (MST3k style) but never released it. It needs some work, I should finish it up and put it out.
@@GoodBadFlicks "I did do a sort of full length riff on the movie a while ago (MST3k style) but never released it. It needs some work, I should finish it up and put it out." I would love to hear that!
Glad I'm not the only Texas Chainsaw fan to enjoy this movie. I agree that while it is heavily flawed, it's a respectful and loving homage and sequel to the original film. Can't tell ya how much I had to pause the movie just to geek out at the nods to the first film.
As someone else put it in the comments, I think a lot of the people complaining are younger viewers who didn't get to fully experience the original in its most magical of moments and in turn can't appreciate this sequel either. I think this is definitely a sequel worth having TBH. It did great things and had the heart of what made the franchise all the way.
Ace of Games Again we will have to agree to disagree. Age very well plays a big part as the younger viewers were not around to feel the impact on horror the original initially made. It set new standards in horror. That is were the line is
5:18 I love that shot. Highlights the worn dustiness of the movie, as well as the feral beefiness of Leatherface. And he's wielding the titular chainsaw like it was some mythical blade.
GREAT REVIEW -- YES, i am 4 years late, but i only discovered your channel a few days ago. I had no idea this one might be real good. I appreciate your work
It is a total fucking injustice that GoodBadFlicks only has 189k subs, such a shame!!! GBF is one of the best fucking movie based UA-cam channels and it deserves to be so much bigger and more popular. There are so many other movie based channels out there whose video's are nowhere near as well done or that give so much information about a movie, from the story of how the movie was made, how long filming and production took, the film's budget, and any little cool and interesting facts about the movie. GBF videos are some of my favorite video's on UA-cam and you can tell that he puts a lot of work and does tons of research for every movie he covers, but for some reason it is a relatively small and unknown channel, which is a fucking joke. All of us subs need to help spread the word about this awesome channel and need to help GBF reach at least a million subs one day!!! C'mon people, GBF needs to be one of the biggest movie channels on UA-cam God damnit, lol!!!!!!
My favorite part of Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation was when Renee Zelweger's, who's fed up with all their shenanigans, is getting up to leave, Leatherface tries to stop her, and she pretty much just punks his ass, causing him to sit back down. It's absolutely hilarious.
Didn't think I would give it a second viewing but I'm glad I did. I really got into it the second time around. Great movie with a good cast. I'll definitely watch it again.
Man I really love your videos I think almost the same way. I love this movie when I first seen it for all the reasons you said it wasn't a reboot it actually felt like a sequel.. And it truly is one of my favorites in the collection. But I truly love Texas Chainsaw Massacre part 2 it was awesome LOL
First and foremost great video, but i've gotta disagree with you here. I thought it was baaaaad. I do seriously love the detail put forward but why did they fuck up the dates so much? I found the effects solid until the sheriff gets ground up and it looks incredibly bad, also the face-time scene was astonishingly bad as is the line "go get em' cuz" . Again i love you enthusiasm for the film i just entirely disagree.
When 1973 came out people walked out of the theaters... the movie is not for the faint of heart.. and to this day leaves me on the edge of my seat..that’s an impression right there.. 👍
That would be awesome to watch. The original is pretty sad when you get to the final reveal & man was the remake lame; poor Idris Elba shouldn’t have been roped in
Just saw your review of it! Awesome! Don't know what made it scarier, the fact that the couple were kindly cannibals, or the fact they kept their victims alive as they force fed them to fatten them up!
I really enjoyed "The Next Generation". The set design is pretty amazing, it has a creative plot twist, and its absolutely insane. Marylin Burns has a cameo at the end where she is getting hauled out of the hospital on a stretcher.
My problems with the movie are the fact that they had both gunner Hansen and the actor who played chop top in TCM 2(I can't remember his name) and just killed them off at the start, I really would've appreciated more from them as they are great actors. I also disliked how they made Leatherface an anti hero, logically with Leatherfaces mindset he would've killed heather. If not that he would have at least chopped off her arm. A better ending would've been if Heather fully went insane and became know as Edith(her sawyer family name) and she and Leatherface kill the mayor and cop. If a sequel is made I think it should be 1 or 2 years after Texas chainsaw and be about Edith killing people with Leatherface helping her.
The Texas Chainsaw 3D started off really really strong, loved the beginning, but alot of things put me off after. But if they wanted to make Texas Chainsaw an annual release franchise and we have yet to see a sequel, then it's not gonna happen. Especially because Saw is making a comeback next year.
Well, when I first saw the movie I was a little bit dissapointed with all the gorey effects being so censure, like it was pretty much dark, a good example maybe could be the first kill Leatherface made. But after watching this I respect even more this sequel, keep going with the good job! I love your videos
The 2003 version was better in my opinion. I think it has to do with the fact that i was a kid when i watched that 1. It was the first chainsaw movie Ive seen, so everything was new for me. Also right after that movie I had to do my paper round in the evening :P You can imagine how I felt. I can see the they really tried but because of all these memories I have to go with the 2003 version. Also 3d horror movies dont work for. It makes then less scary. BTW the purge wasnt a very scary movie but you have to admit that the concept was very good.
The 3D was used sparingly and really, until the chainsaw throw I forgot it even was a 3D movie. (but I agree, usually it is more annoying than anything) The Purge had a great concept but terrible execution. I'm hoping they fix that with the sequel.
Awesome video man, if you ever have some free time please Explore House of a 1000 Corpses or The Devil's Rejects or both together 😃 They're two of my favorite movies but I don't think enough people respect them.
The original Texas chainsaw massacre is my favorite horror movie. I never even watched the original sequels cuz my horror movie loving buddies although said they weren't bad, their body language told me something different. I saw the remake with Jessica Biel & the prequel & thought they were entertaining enough. For whatever reason I never saw 3D & based off your review I seriously regret that decision. Thanks for this awesome review!
Five things. One: big fan of your videos. Two: especially love the exploring videos. Three: i disagree on this film in particular, but to each his own. Four: supposedly they're not doing a sequel to this, but another reboot, showing Leatherface in his teenage years. What's your opinion on that? Five: Ever seen My Soul To Take? If not, I think it could make a good entry
1 - Thank you 2 - Thank you thank you :) 3 - Thats fine, I don't expect everyone to agree with me, nor should they. I just like to give different viewpoints and maybe give people a bigger picture on what went into the film. 4 - Yeah, I heard. I'd rather they continue this storyline but we'll see how the new one turns out. I'm expecting Chainsaw 90210. 5 - Yep, I thought it was ok. Need to check it out again but it is nowhere near Craven's worst film as so many people have said.
1 - Welcome. 2 - Very Welcome. 3 - Enjoyed the trivia and behind the scenes info as always. 4 - I think I would watch that if it were on HBO...obviously not for more Alexandra Daddario like in True Detective ;) 5 - Heavily agree. That title goes to Shocker (IMHO as of right now)
Tbf matthew mcconaughey's weirdo robot legs scene was actually very simular then the dinner scene in the original . In how it just kept going and going
I cant see what you see in this movie. This is the only review I couldn't wrap my head around. My issue were for various things, like the use of FaceTime, Heather choosing to hang from a ferris wheel when there was so much open space, when she automatically assumes the townspeople of being murderers, when in fact she comes from a family of lunatics. The cinematography was too pristine it looked like I was watching a comedy. But hell who knows the studios probably took over most of the direction hoping to get that huge profit for horror movies in January. The movie had a great idea however the execution was done horribly. However I love everyone of your reviews man and I cant stop bingeing! Keep up the good work and feed me THIS KNOWLEDGE!!!!
I've only watched this one once, in the theater. It's close ties to the original while admirable, was what turned me against the movie. Making the killers sympathetic was such an odd choice and didn't work at all for me. That said, your great exploration makes me want to watch it again and give it another shot. Well done!
Good review especially the information about the atention to detail! I liked the movie and i was really stunned how good it actually works in Making leatherface into a tragic and vengeful hero that the audience can sympathyse with! That gave the movie a fresh spin which i enjoyed a lot!
i love ALL the texas chainsaw movies but this one has to be my 3rd fave behind the original and part 2. this movie is way better than people make it out 2 be. if u r a fan of the original then u will PROBABLY at least APPRECIATE this movie. its at least a fun ride! luv the review!
Just out of curiosity, would you recommend buying this movie in 3D? You say in this review the 3D was cool, but in the Shark Night review you say the 3D was annoying. (I watched these two reviews literally back to back so the inconsistent comments caught me)
The 3D in Texas Chainsaw is less invasive. It only happens a few times and when it does, it doesn't take you out of the film. You can get the 3D blu really cheap, I got it at Amazon for $10
"Leatherface" is next and it will be a prequel, sites say 2016 but i don't know we'll see, it is Lionsgate and stars Lili Taylor and Stephen Dorff. Apparently, its supposed to FOLLOW the prequel TCM: The Beginning, which unfortunately would pull that movie into canon but if Seth Sherwood the writer and Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury as the Directors can do as good as Lussenhop, Marcus, Sullivan, and Elms did it MIGHT be alright.
If you haven't yet then you should watch the Original with commentary. Do the same with 1)John Carpenter's THE THING. 2)Revenge of the Nerds 3)King Pin 4)Something about Mary 5)Big Trouble in Little China 6)Used Cars 7)Airplane 8)The Naked Gun series. you will see these movies in a new light.
WOW! I never realized how much effort really went into this. When I 1st saw this I hated this movie & I thought it was so unworthy as a sequel to the original & I thought it killed the series. I still hate this movie alot, but goddamnit the effort, I have to admire it, if only the script was better. :/
Yeah, they really did, also thanks for recommending Your Next,. I saw that in your top 10 from last year & at 1st, I thought it looked stupid from the Commercials I saw. But watching the Top 10 list, I didn't think it would've been that entertaining, but I recently checked it out & I love that movie so much, so thanks for the recommendation. :)
I am not a big fan of this film, and personally think it could have been quite a bit better. But like you said their, hearts were in the right place and the hard work and nods to the original was amazing. The original is one of my favorite movies of all time and after re watching it. I also give them credit for trying and would not mind seeing another movie.
GoodBadFlicks Yeah it really made the movie quite enjoyable for me. It sucks that so many movies put so little work into them. But when I see a movie that has an incredible amount of work put into it (especially a horror movie) it just makes me so happy to see people still care about making movies enjoyable.
I'll have to actually give this movie a chance now. Hearing about the plot-hole/time frame really turned me off on the whole thing, but this review has given me hope, lol.
Well i believe the original three remain the best trilogy in the franchise and the rest i put in this order: Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning 2006 (a brutally good film) / Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003 (Jessica Biel's performance is heart pounding!) / Texas Chainsaw 3D (Alexandra Daddario's performance is heart pounding!) / Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (enjoyable if on drugs!) / Leatherface 2017 (terribly miscast Leatherface character and a garbage teen angst film) ...
+GoodBadFlicks The reasons why Texas Chainsaw 3D is horrendous are the same reasons you glossed over--- the HUGE continuity issue with the time frame of the film, there were no likeable characters, and they made the sadistic/evil/murderous Leatherface into a sympathetic character.
The first Texas Chainsaw Massacre is honestly a great film. Idk whether it’s intentional or not but the movie uses meat industry imagery and even sound incredibly. There’s also a weird macabre beauty to the sets and cinematography.
I don't know man, I was willing to give this movie a shot despite all the bad reviews and I left disappointed as hell. Some well created homages don't make a good film. I don't totally buy into your assessment of the remake. I know you've liked remakes in the past, but imo your reasons for not liking the TCM remake is simply because it's a remake. "Music video directing"? Where? The directing in the remake is very sure-handed and traditional. Steady camera movements, smooth dollys and tracking shots...no hyper active editing or shaky cam. The cinematography is very stylish, but no in a bright, slick way. TC3D had a decent opening scene and it works for an ok 20 minutes or so in the second act when it's just being a straight up slasher film but that's it. The film has no sense of suspense, build up or tension what so ever. It's visually flat as well. I don't see your point about the two Leatherfaces either. You criticize the remake for him being a mindless juggernaut but he is exactly the same way in this film. Just because one character in the film says he has the mind of the child doesn't mean that came through in the performance of the character. It didn't at all. And oh man, the third act of this movie is simply preposterous in the extreme. A third act in any film, no matter the genre, hasn't been that unbelievable and idiotic in a long time. The remake is leagues better in every way except gore. Better directing, better cinematography, better acting, better script, better suspense. Just better.
It's unbelievable that despite having so much care and talent put into it, the movie felt like the worst, dumbest horror movie I've seen in a long while. There was no suspense, the characters were completely stupid, the ending was laughable and their attempt to give Leatherface a personality made him look ridiculous and ruined the mysterious charm of the character. I'm sorry, but this movie was horrible.
The 3D TCM was released on 2013?, that's wierd, I remember seeing this on late night cable!, specifically, here in Mexico we have a delightful "all horror, all day" channel named "Pánico" wich... well, translates into "Panic" (my knowdelage on horror films has increased twofold in the span of two years, they've even shown some japanese horror films), I was wondering about that pig mask scene, it struck me as reaaaally familiar and it's funny now that I know it's a nod from Saw. Some scenes were pretty obvious with the 3D effects and I thought were pretty cheap (the chainsaw throwing scene?... yeah...), but overall, I liked this film, nothing to write home about, but I liked it. It's pretty nice to know all what went behind this film, makes me want to see it again to catch some of the nods to the previous films in more detail. Great episode as always! :)
This is one of your videos that I think a majority of people in the comments disagree with you on, similar to The Happening. However unlike The Happening, I agree with you on this movie. Aside from Trey Songz I thought the casting was fine for a horror film, besides it's not like the 2003 remake that everyone seems to love had a massively better cast. The fact that this movie plays itself as a sequel to the original makes it stand out among the rest to me. I loved the direction they took the movie by turning it against the town and making leatherface into even more of an anti-hero. We could of done without the "Do your thing cuz" line though. I also didn't notice the continuity errors even after re-watching TC3D after the original.

I actually like 3. After the first I like 2 OKAY even though I dont quite go for the slapstick vibe, the third one I like best after the original not because its just some jaw droppingly AMAZING FILM like the original or something but its just fun as shit and entertaining as hell. Viggo is great also.
"Why cant you people leave us alone???"
"CUZ WE'RE HUNGRY!"
I actually LOVE Mcconaughey in this movie. He pulls of a great performance of a completely insane murderer.
I liked that it was so batshit crazy.
Absolutely!!
DarkKnightFanBoy No worries, I don't expect everyone to agree with me all the time! At least you gave it another shot and I respect your opinion. :)
And I did.
DarkKnightFanBoy good analysis of a truly bad film. not sure what dude is smoking, I like his videos but this movie was terrible.
Brandon Luck I love how bad (and great) of a line “Do your thing, cuz!” is.
"Just set it in the 90's for fuck's sake."
Did you miss where this was addressed in the review?
Fox too* Not lending much credence to your argument.
Great work as always mate, I was also distracted towards the end too ;p
thanks :)
you must have had fun making that intro. And thanks for the video Cecil!
Thanks! It didn't end up exactly as planned but it still turned out well.
Indeed it did.
I’ve been watching your channel since I was in the 8th grade. It’s fucking crazy being in college and still watching. Much love homie
Glad to be along for the ride! Best of luck in school! :)
Amazing series. Just found this today and love it. I watched your blair witch one and book of shadows. Your really good
Thank you!
I love your videos man, and I know this is an old video, but there’s no damn way this is a better movie than the ‘03 remake.
I liked it better but I know I'm in the minority
I would like to take this time and say thank you. I'm a huge horror films fan and I did not know all the information you provided in this video. After watching your review on this film and Silent Hill, you have filled my mind with new facts and details. I can't help but follow your work now. I will definitely be subscribing and checking out more videos on your channel when I get a chance.
Thanks for the sub! Glad you are enjoying the videos.
Love to watch your reviews- great knowledge and clear concise explanation.
Ok, you have actually changed my mind about this one. The fucked up timeline and the "welcome to Texas" line really pissed me off, but I'll give this another shot. Great video friend!
2003 remake was waaay better than this reboot/sequel-my opinion
Bender1988s Thats fine, its your opinion. Nothing wrong with that.
GoodBadFlicks
Well hello there.
Didnt think creator of this channel would reply.
I must say I really enjoy this channel and in most cases with Your rewievs I agree 100% with Your opinions.
Spend some time yesterday and today to watch most of the videos on Your channel.
Really good solid stuff :)
Am curious-Will You do in the future review of remake of friday the 13'th ?
Bender1988s
Cool, thanks!
It needs some work, I should finish it up and put it out."
I would love to hear that!
Glad I'm not the only Texas Chainsaw fan to enjoy this movie. I agree that while it is heavily flawed, it's a respectful and loving homage and sequel to the original film. Can't tell ya how much I had to pause the movie just to geek out at the nods to the first film.
Kevin Faultner I was stunned the first time I saw it because I heard so much negativity. I really don't think it deserves the hate it gets.
GoodBadFlicks yes it does. absolutely terrible movie.
@@arcane_abomination age has nothing to do with it. The movie is just bad all around
Ace of Games Again we will have to agree to disagree. Age very well plays a big part as the younger viewers were not around to feel the impact on horror the original initially made. It set new standards in horror. That is were the line is
Love your reviews. Some had really change my mind about movies i thought were bad. Keep it up cecil ! I'm Cecilia by the way lol
Thank you! Always makes me happy to hear that. Cecilia? Cool! You have Irish parents too?
You're welcome! No, just Uruguayans haha Greetings from here!

I love that shot.
Thank you so much! Hopefully one day I'll get there.
Great content! Wish you do an "Exploring" of the Halloween saga.
Thanks!
You have a lot of awesome content dude. Keep it up!
Thank you!
+Serial Cinema That's fine! As I often say, I don't expect everyone to agree with me all the time. :)
10:44 Lol. Amen to this.
"CGI can go f*ck itself." -Mike McCarty, 2014
When 1973 came out people walked out of the theaters... the movie is not for the faint of heart.. and to this day leaves me on the edge of my seat..that’s an impression right there.. 👍
Signed on for six films? F**k me it's going to be a long franchise from here now.
Great video man, I loved this movie. Im right there with you
Could you maybe do a video on the 1980 slasher film, Prom Night, and its remake?
bjnboy they are on the list
That would be awesome to watch. The original is pretty sad when you get to the final reveal & man was the remake lame; poor Idris Elba shouldn’t have been roped in
Please review Motel Hell, one of the most nightmarish '80s film I've ever seen.
mario martinez I did years ago when I was still figuring things out. You can still see it if you are interested on my site www.goodbadflicks.com
Just saw your review of it! Awesome! Don't know what made it scarier, the fact that the couple were kindly cannibals, or the fact they kept their victims alive as they force fed them to fatten them up!
mario martinez Motel Hell is great! Total classic schlock.
I really enjoyed "The Next Generation". The set design is pretty amazing, it has a creative plot twist, and its absolutely insane. Marylin Burns has a cameo at the end where she is getting hauled out of the hospital on a stretcher.
Glad to see you review this.Although it's the only Texas Chainsaw Massacre film I don't like.
Came here after hearing about Tobe Hooper...
He is already missed
several years late but, nice content. Very entertaining work!
Congrats to 100k ❤
Thanks!
Well, when I first saw the movie I was a little bit dissapointed with all the gorey effects being so censure, like it was pretty much dark, a good example maybe could be the first kill Leatherface made. But after watching this I respect even more this sequel, keep going with the good job! I love your videos
Thanks!
(but I agree, usually it is more annoying than anything)
The Purge had a great concept but terrible execution. I'm hoping they fix that with the sequel.
Its no argument. 2003 is way better then TCM 3D
The purge is a great concept but only pulled off some what well durning the second one.
Awesome video man, if you ever have some free time please Explore House of a 1000 Corpses or The Devil's Rejects or both together 😃 They're two of my favorite movies but I don't think enough people respect them.
"It performed at #1"
"Not exactly what they were looking for"
Bruh
Great work dude.
thanks!
RIP Tobe Hooper, legendary creator who help lay out the groundwork to the horror genre
Keep up the good work and feed me THIS KNOWLEDGE!!!!
great review , just subscribed
I've only watched this one once, in the theater. It's close ties to the original while admirable, was what turned me against the movie. Making the killers sympathetic was such an odd choice and didn't work at all for me. That said, your great exploration makes me want to watch it again and give it another shot. Well done!
I find it hilarious they thought they were gonna get 6 films outta anything written by Adam Marcus
i know the 4th one is kind of out there, but that's why i love it.
I like how he puts bowling alley type animations in the beginning but I’m not complaining
Do the same with
1)John Carpenter's THE THING.
2)Revenge of the Nerds
3)King Pin
4)Something about Mary
5)Big Trouble in Little China
6)Used Cars
7)Airplane
8)The Naked Gun series.
you will see these movies in a new light.
They were aiming for a PG rating? Even without tons of blood the raw horror is what makes it terrifying.,
What are your thoughts on The Funhouse... I loved it
GetBaesEveryday1232 classic
WOW! I never realized how much effort really went into this. When I 1st saw this I hated this movie & I thought it was so unworthy as a sequel to the original & I thought it killed the series. I still hate this movie alot, but goddamnit the effort, I have to admire it, if only the script was better. :/
Wyatt Stake I respect that they at least tried!
I'm so glad I subscribed to your channel. your videos are awesome and I agree with everything you say. keep up the good work Cecil.
Thank you!
GoodBadFlicks you're welcome :)
I am not a big fan of this film, and personally think it could have been quite a bit better. But like you said their, hearts were in the right place and the hard work and nods to the original was amazing. The original is one of my favorite movies of all time and after re watching it. I also give them credit for trying and would not mind seeing another movie.
flare4488 Exactly. At least they tried and really put a lot into it.
GoodBadFlicks Yeah it really made the movie quite enjoyable for me. It sucks that so many movies put so little work into them. But when I see a movie that has an incredible amount of work put into it (especially a horror movie) it just makes me so happy to see people still care about making movies enjoyable.
What are your opinions on another Prequel to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre called Leatherface?
"Cuz" line made me walk out the cinema. I actively defend the act of remakes, but I despise this movie
Could you review "the house of 1000 corpses" or "the lords of Salem"? Your channel rocks.
Thanks! Planning on 1000 Corpses at some point
I remember seeing one of the texas chainsaw movie's when i was younger, i loved it
I like seeing people review all the great things about movies that tend to only have hate thrown at them.
They have made yet another Texas Chain Saw Massacre film called "Leatherface", due to be released later this year!
Haven't seen this, but my faves are #1 and #3, as of now.
nice song at the end
The remake definitely gets an undeserving amount of hate. Drives me nuts
completely agree with you
Mr Maws Agreed to every point you raised here, man. This movie was a total piece of shit by any objective measure.
Max Payne thats fine, not everyone can agree on everything.
I watched the police station scene again and only things i see for dates are month and day. No where anywhere do I see a year?
Thanks! Its possible it may have been released earlier in other regions. Hell, Taken was out 2 years before making it to the US.
nice review! i like Texas Chainsaw 3D too i found it to be surprisingly good, but i like The 2003 remake best and i liked the prequel too
This is one of your videos that I think a majority of people in the comments disagree with you on, similar to The Happening.
How about sharing your thoughts on alien vs predator ? Or possibly tackling some westerns?
The movie could be 2hrs of D'Addario sitting and I'd still watch it!
