That smile on your face because your friends invited you to dinner when you get in is priceless. I look forward to both cooking it for someone else and will be forever grateful to whomever has a hot meal for me on the other end!
Kudos to you for having a good go at the native pronunciation of local place names. It is not easy in NZ, you did well and I know that the effort is appreciated here.
Hey Captain James, thanks for another great episode mate, love how raw it is and how you always show the goods n bads that go along with it you truly are one of the best sailing youtube channels out!!! Enjoy mate and safe travels
Dude! Can we have an hour long AMSR video, with a long continuous clip just like the short part in your intro on this video, with the side of boat view angle.. The water noise is relaxing.. Just it sailing through the water blissfully.. It'll get loads of views being tranquil ❤
I love to see you on your own boat. You going on other's nice big new boats just gives me boat envy. My wife likes to see your inland adventures, getting to know the natives and interacting respectfully with their culture. Thanks for the great videos. Fair winds.
Dude, so cool, Ive been really enjoying watching your adventure. I grew up around there, going out fishing and exploring islands. Kawau is particularly great and has some nice beaches on the east side. Keep up the good work brother, kia kaha
Funny how crazy it is to think I may never get the chance to do this in my life And if I take on the voyage hope I won’t be scared to and the learning and knowing nothing about the sea and sail boats But has been a dream of mine forsure and I hope I get the chance in my life You bringing these videos and your experiences to us getting to watch just wanna say thank you!
Side tie. I have a different boat but when I dock like you were docking I try to keep my boat speed up to counter wind and current then right at the last moment i will throttle up in reverse then step off with the stern tie in hand and use it to brake any further forward motion. My basic slip is down a tight fairway in a downwind slip. Fin keel spade rudder very maneuverable and Prop walk can help. I'm back on the boat a lot more these days. Another tip.. Any hardware you need to access for service? Where you need to open it up for access if it has Aluminum and Stainless. it;'s a good Idea to regularly open that up and keep it accessible. I have been having to drill out and re tap some of those places. Tedious .Corrosion sux.
@@SailorJames Yes I know, No criticism. My Slip is in the estuary and we get big currents every day plus My Slip i sin line with the current and also down wind. it's very tricky. Worse when you are new to a spot. I know my slip and have practiced hundreds of times. Can't do that in your situation.
I have cruised that area alone in a similar boat with a good softbait rod and a few lures its very easy to keep yourself supplied with snapper fillets for dinner every night. You don't need to anchor, when conditions are right drop sails lash tiller hard across and drift fish usually you have dinner within 5 minutes. I have also caught fish from the anchorage exactly where he is.
How do you know about the current, through friends, or where did you get the info from? I'm hopping to get out this weekend, spend the night, a chance of snow, so I'm looking forward to it✌️
@@SailorJames ok, I noticed that function on the windy app, with navionics it wouldn't so much apply on Georgian Bay, the current isn't so scheduled like a tide, I think I'm safe to say that, good to know ✌️
I appreciate you making the effort to get the pronunciations of the places you visit right… A lot of YT sailors act like it’s no big deal that they aren’t even TRYING to get pronunciations of places right and it always comes across as disrespectful. Thanks for not doing that.
I have an app called Marine traffic, that you can track vessels, but when I put the name Triteia, it shows a much larger vessel (12m) and it flies the flag of Malaysia, and is currently in Singapore. Is there a different identifier I can use to find you?
It’s amazing the balls you have to travel around the world on that little boat and also the hippie girl on hers. She definitely has big nuts.keep going we love watching
After a lifetime of voyaging and writing books about their adventures, Lin and Larry Pardey ended up living on Kawau Island...I'm pretty sure Lin still has the place there...
Just curious, but do you work from your boat for an employer? I heard you say that you just finished up on some computer work. Thanks for sharing your adventures.

My favourite place to spend some time, great anchorages up bonnacord, might be up there myself this coming weekend
Another great adventure!!
Nice dockin 😄
Comin in hot
Man! That was a hard stop on your boat. You need a compensator at least that will take some stress off the cleat
We're heading to Bon Accord Harbour ourselves in 2 weeks. Nice spot. Enjoy your content.
can't wait for mansion house and coppermine vlog. did u meet the walkable and most of all ...the easy snapper fishing....especially around motuora
The copper mine and mansion house were soooo cool
You can go up a little further and tuck up in front of the big house on the side of the hill on the right, great in a southerly

I was in a 1.5 knot river current

Man you seriously have to do some fishing when you anchor up.
I would find it very hard to not get a line wet if I was hanging out at some of these places
@@knockharder3554hauraki gulf literally has the beat inshore fishing in the entire world it is so beautiful

Just found your channel. Great stuff! What camera are you using?
GoPro hero 9
Well done. What date did you depart the bridge?

I always do my best which is tricky because I am not good with languages but I think it’s a matter of respect, like you mentioned.
How did the ancient sailors navigate without weather reports?
Looking at sky and surroundings there are many tricks from which you can tell upcoming weather many use them today.
Just curious. You don't fish while you are sailing?
If I was to fish I might catch one and then I would have to deal with it 😂

I don’t have an AIS transponder so I won’t be on there
@@SailorJames Oh too bad, it would be fun to track your voyage
I have a tracker, you can find the link at svtriteia.com
Is there a fee to request a bridge like that to be raised?
No
Lots of fish in that area
