Hello Friends,
On this episode I make way for Rangitoto Island and then on to Waiheke Island in the Hauraki Gulf along with SY RaLa. After riding out a weeks worth of storms, Adventure Bike Packer Edna Novak comes onboard and joins us for some sailing adventures around her home island.

This was SO MUCH FUN . :-) I can’t stop smiling over that conversation with the Rala crew & their expressions and laughter when you shared the clip. And thanks so much for sharing about my bikepacking adventures here too!
kudos for an interesting and entertaining conversation on SY Rala
As many sailing channels as there are, it’s nice to see people going to places others haven’t really showcased… it’s a big, beautiful world and I’m working towards seeing my share of it soon.
what a fun story!
Beautiful footage Triteia sailing
Cheers James for another great episode 👍
Edna the bike lady! I started following her channel recently when she did an amazing Canada to Mexico west coast ride.
That's one handsome boat @ 7:00
Great video James, thanks for sharing
Omg what are the odds!!! So cool.
Kia Ora bro. Your sailing journey is so inspiring. If your sail down to South Island, come to windy welly, I’ll be happy to meet you🌿
Like your windows on the front of the dodger. I love when you say that you only have a receiver and the girls look at each other, as if to say, what's he doing. 🙂
Thanks for show casing NZ. I really enjoy your channel keep up the good work. Fair winds😉 sail safe cheers Don
"my place of calm" this is what I refer to your videos as.
One day, one day...........…...
I spent a lot of my early childhood on the Hauraki Gulf. It’s a beautiful place and watching this makes me want to sail there again. I hope you enjoy NZ
You are in one of my favourite spots for a weekend trip. :)
From a Kiwi, your pronunciation of Maori names is on point James. It shows the respect you have for the local culture.
That is WILD you guys were so close in that big ocean!
The comradery on the sea is amazing! It’s pretty scary that Triteia didn’t show up on AIS!
I don’t have a transponder so I am not on AIS
You Never Fail To Inspire. Fare winds.
Ang ganda naman ang place po
Hey James you need to learn all the slang! Like get in the queue for the loo! I was in Hawaii at the marina that you were towed into when you did the solo run from California to Oahu and would have liked to have seen your boat but left the day before you arrived. Truly enjoy your adventures. Keep going
Makes me feel at home. My boat is based at Putiki Bay! Some interesting boats and characters here
Good story. I'm still hoping you venture out of the Hauraki Gulf and explore some more of the coast. Few of the sailing channels do. There are other (maybe better) cruising grounds, like Marlborough Sounds and Fiordland, just with some long exposed stretches between.
About 3 years ago Sailing Taranto posted some clips, worth checking out.
That’s the plan 👍🏻
Patreon gang, whatup 💪🏼
👊🏻
You've made some really lovely friends :)
Wow, small world eh, that must have been just to cool ✌️
Hi, Are you still in the Hauraki Gulf? I'm going on a sailing trip with my son from 22 to 25 November. It would be cool to find you and Triteia. We are based at Shelly Park near Cockle Bay.
I am yes but will be heading south by then 👍🏻
maybe on the way back North. :) fair winds

Cool
After converting your stove and oven to electric, are you happy with it?
I haven't seen a follow up.
Cheers!
Yep 100% zero complaints, I would never go back to any other galley type
amazing - not a boat indeed !
That’s like a needle in a hay stack kind of situation how does that happen 😂
You should try fish fingers and gravy.
Haha ❤
Cool to see Edna joining you on this trip! I’ve been following her bike adventures thanks to you! 😊
Where do you plan on sailing once you leave New Zealand?
2024 will be Tasmania, Australia (east coast) and Southeast Asia
@@SailorJames Stopping East Coast of Australia? I'm a kiwi but in Brisbane, Queensland. Moreton Bay is my sailing bay. Stunning, especially the island.
Sorry unsubscribed due to you tube policy. I wish you well.
