It feels like Dali was only jumping 80/90 a couple of months ago! So proud of how far you came wih the boys :)
I thoroughly enjoyed this longer video. It was interesting to see your daily schedule with riding and taking care of the mares and foals. I have to admit when I see someone riding a vert young horse on concrete, I always hold my breath a little.... until it's over! I'm a mom at heart!
Totally understand about the concrete! I get lots of questions about it every time ☺️
Have always admired your riding/training Holly, and this vlog demonstrates that. How you managed to get that huge bulk of Dali to shorten like that, in such a polite way, is amazing.
Thanks Holly, great to have a catch up with all your horses. I look forward to seeing Wiggy and Delphi soon. Little Zephyr is so sweet, just dawdling behind Fiona. I see he is losing his foal hair. He is adorable. Mav is doing really well too. You’ve doing a great job with him. It was great to see what your day is like. Thanks xx
I live in France and we have been having droughts the past few summers and it sucks…you’re so lucky to have rain and black clouds!!! 😂 Great video! 😊❤
Really a full and varied day . Never enough of horse talk and care and following all your steeds!
I love your boys! Khal is so epic. And Dali’s swishy tail is the best. Fun to see Daddy-O too! ❤❤❤
Lol “oh a good looking feather”…. That’s me to a tee distracted by random stuff like pretty feathers 🪶 :) gorgeous horses.
So interesting to hear all about their feed and also the vet side of things! Thank you for sharing!
Ooooh I love this exercise! You can see how hard he was thinking. Awesome
Wow what an awesome video Holly, I loved it!! Thank you for all the interesting stuff especially on brood mares and their foals - nutrition etc - Brilliant 🥰
Such an interesting vlog. Best wishes for your course. I love how gentle & patient you are with all your horses, especially Mav.
Love the vet chat Holly, very interesting!
Love the pole activity!! I’ll definitely be practicing that one. Would love to see some more polework exercises if you get the time to share any other ones!
Yes for sure I will! ☺️
Really enjoyed this video format, Holly. Mav is doing so well with you and he is so cute and of course, foal love :)
Beautiful work on Dali, Holly!
I absolutely love Khal, always have. I remember seeing one of your uploads a loooonnnnggggg time ago and said that is my dream horse. He's so fantastic! It's crazy to see how well Dali's getting along. I remember seeing your first show video with him, what a difference. What great boys you have!
Was in Ireland just a few weeks ago. First time there. Just a short trip. Flying into Shannon, driving to Dublin for a concert, then back down to Carrigaholt for a few days. Don't know where you are located but from what I saw of your beautiful country, I am definitely coming back really soon!
Love your videos ❤
awh cant wait to watch !
Absolutely brilliant , a really ght about that concrete ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ clever holly xxx
I’m interested to see how the new feeds work for the boys.
Good Morning from Adelaide!
We used to say that the young horses "earned" a short mane when you were less likely to need a good handful to grab 😅
Haha I love that! 😂
My wee 14.2 tango was not forward going at all and he went really well on race horse cubes, we couldn’t do without it back in the day
Interesting explanation about food.👍
Lovely Hat !! 🤩
Great video! Thanks for sharing :)
Omg I love Dali so much 🥺
Im in holidays in Spain, cant wait to get home to the great weather in Ireland
Really enjoyed the video, great tips and observaciones, (much better than Love Island ) !!!
Really enjoyed this relaxed, day-in-the-life video. Like visiting and chit-chatting with a horsey friend. How old is Fiona now?
I’m glad! And she’s 15 ☺️
You'r hair looks so good
You and my riding coach both are addicted to Love Island. I feel I must watch it now.. As well can you please make Zephyr stay little for just a while longer. Sooo sweet.
I know right, I wish they stayed foals forever ♥️🥰
Great content as usual. But i wonder, why the quality option is disabled in your videos?
Don’t forget the continuous slight drizzle. Irish weather ❤
Always! 😂
Dali loves being petted . He loves you .
Interested to know how you manage worming plans on your property with not mucking out and having young stock? Do you run regular faecal egg counts?
I have found feeding vitamin E also helps with pooling, its anti inflammatory so it there is any inflammation as a result of pooling it reduces that. Worthwhile trying if the inflammation from the pooling urine is also ongoing. Helped my older mare with this issue as well as a caslicks.
I’ll look into that, thank you ☺️
Good job beezie I mean Holly!
😂😂😂
First. Wonderful vlog. New helmet! Love it! Just enough bling! I love how you used to say Khal was so pokey and you kind of looked resigned. Like - yup he's sooo slooow. He was but I still thought he was adorable. When I revisit those vids I can barely see the incredible jumper he is today. I really loved him but I could not for the life of me see his future self. Kudos to you for seeing it. Second, I LOVED your comment about Meg. Lordy, she is funny with the semen. She blushes and I crack up! I am not a vet but am a nurse so I truly have no problem discussing anything at all with anyone at all. Healthcare, be it animals or people is full of lots of bodily fluids going willy nilly. And as an American, I love listening to your beautiful Irish voice but then you said Urine in a way that my American ears almost started to bleed! It was so darn funny too me. Keep up the wonderful content. Sorry for the long comment-I just have so darn much that I love about you and your horses, your dad and your attitude. Plus I love that I know about gentamicin.
Yes not too much bling on the helmet which I like!
Thank you ♥️
Nice helmet, You're spoiled. Nice to have sponsors😊
Holly I wanna try this exercice with my horse. Just out of curiosity, how many meters did you put in between the poles? My horse has a huge stride and has a stiff back so shortening is difficult for him. He’s also 7 but still a baby. 😂
It depends on the size of your horse, just a standard 2 stride distance with room for take off and landing. A horse stride is around 12 feet and I leave half that before and after the pole.
Can your horses be outside in wintertime? Is'nt it same climat of england and the netherlands?.🌧️🥶 Of course there are also places where they can stay outside.
Yes, it doesn’t get very very cold here and they get rugs on during the winter ☺️
Interesting vlog Holly have you left France for good or are you heading back to Aussie then back home to Ireland.? Have I missed something lol. Tfs😎🏇😎
She was just there for the summer not sure if she plans on going back. She will go to Australia 🙂
Yes I’ve left France for good and I go back to australia in aigust
How come your back home? Will you be taking the horse's back to Lauren's? X
No, we’re not going back to Lauren’s ☺️
How did you train kahl to stretch low like that??
Pressure and release with the contact to encourage him to lower his head and also making sure he’s supple and will bend to the left and right :)
A pelham is a useful bit.
How many stable do you have
how tall is maeve
Looking good, do you need a groom 😊
please don't take offence Dali has buggers in his eyes and runny nose-would Lysine be good for theses cold wet summers-we have had rain and cold nights in Oregon USA and mine had buggers in their eyes-only using 2nd cutting hay not as rich as first cutting-they get fat with grass in summer-the lysine helped them to get healthy and strong and is good for connective tissues and muscles as well as immune system . Love your horses . Debra I have all mares
my horses are addicted to beet pulp for winter
I think Zephy is going gray 👀 hopefully it’s just a summer shed but it looked a bit gray to me lol!
Hmm it doesn’t look super grey in person but only time will tell!
@@HollyLenahanSJ Hopefully not 😂
Do you have a backup plan for Fiona? If not can I suggest just more videos of her and your dad? He doesn’t even need to ride her, I’d just watch an entire channel of their interactions. They were some of my favourite videos. Would you consider buying another broodmare?
Back up if she doesn’t go in foal would be to try and get an embryo via ICSI. But even if she doesn’t give us another foal, she’s with us for life ♥️ and I wouldn’t buy another broodmare, instead I would buy a young mare for riding and also to take embryos from. But not any time soon!
I've studied Equine Reproduction and have seen a semen collection as well as an insemination. Unlike Meg, I dont find saying semen awkward. I don't find anything about Horse Breeding awkward.
Who give training to your horses when You're in Australia, and is'nt it dificult for you and them to start again after months.😊
They have time off when she's in Australia
@@danielabackstrom so khal must be very very good, because most horses have to be retrained after even a month rest, because a horse need at least 3 sessions/week.
A pitty that a plainticket for a horse cost so much, otherwise her horses could come along with holly to australia. But don't know if she has time over there. Is she working as a veterinary over there?🥰
How many animal do you have
2 dogs and 8 horses (and three chickens)
I could see you know also to do insemination, i see that also by yvonne from "friesian horses". Does that class means you do an especialisation for horses, or am i wrong?
Veterinarians in clinics and hospitals are they even more spicialized?🤔
I’m sure you have a logical reason for getting on Mav while on the bricks instead of the sand in an arena. I would just prefer to fall off on the sand lol Edit: oh, I didn’t watch long enough! You explained it!
