The only time I ever did not walk the jump-off, I went clear and could barley remember the jump-off which was right after your main round. Luckily I had watched the rider before me, so I knew somewhat what jumps I needed🤣🤣
The work you did over poles, lengthening and shortening, has really improved Dali’s rideability…… he was such a star! 👏🏻

Great job Dali and Holly! Khal too-I notice Dali often lands cross cantering, hence the wild changes. The more he learns to land united, the better his balance and confidence will be, rideability too. He’s really getting there!
The tail swishing and ears back too! Related? I’m sure Holly will figure out why it’s happening.
He actually doesn’t land cross cantering, he just changes in front one or two strides before he changes behind. These flying changes, although exuberant at times, are actually a huge improvement!
Fantastic rounds on both boys - Dali's rideability has clearly improved with all the work you've been doing with him. They just keep getting better and better!

Love listening to you critique your rides. Dahli looked like a hunter but, boy does he have a huge jump. You can see how easily it would be to be jumped right off into space. Thank you for sharing your life with us.

@@HollyLenahanSJ I love the Show flogs for 2 reasons: 1. The competitive aspect of the shows and because you are jumping both Cal and Dali at the top end of their abilities (Making it very exciting) I would love to see Cal jump 1.45/1.50 m and Dali 1.30/1.35 m before you go to Australia

Holly, love your sense of humor with the ‘exuberant’ flying change. Who was your early trainer (your dad, maybe??) as someone set a lovely, positive mindset into your way of going. It’s a joy to watch, whether you’re working your job job or riding. A great example for us adult beginners or the junior riders.
"Oh, Holly, I'm so sad the vlog is over." lol I would have been so. Carry on! Oh and Dali's second round was stunning. I think you are right about having the "right" canter. On that day, he looked lovely, slightly under-amazed but happy to have gotten his job done. You too made it look effortless. Your "little" boy has grown up. Khal is looking fabulous!! It is nice to see you riding a little forward - or maybe just trusting him more. Either way. Great job.

No it’s working but we’re going to sell it so we got the horse box up and going instead especially for transporting mares and foals, it’s a lot easier

Do you have any tips on getting a good stride to a jump? I’m useless 😩😂
I’m sure you’re not useless! The way way to improve is to practice, so lay out poles all around where you ride and just canter over them every time you ride. Really focus on having a good, positive canter ☺️

My dad was always for spending as little time as possible at a show and would get me to call to see where they were in the running order and would work out the timing Accordingly 😂 only failed once when I missed my 90cm class haha.
Dali is looking unreal, you make him look quite big, I swear my legs wouldn’t reach the bottom of the saddle😂
