So "magical" watching this episode. The lack of uniformity in the interior adds to the charm and interest. It looks like it was designed to be as it is. Just perfect.

"OK, we're done!" - frigging BEAUTIFUL! I just had to stop your carefully edited video for a moment to comment.
IT'S WOOD - it's organic, it is not supposed to match perfectly (I understand the quest for nearly perfect, just trying to say GOOD JOB!) - the variance is part of the beauty - it is just a matter of perspective and joy!

I am always amazed at the perfection of craftmanship that has gone into this renovation. Aladino you are a true craftsman and I wish that all tradesmen would use your ability as an example. Maya your narrations are so perfectly in tune with the process which keeps me and I hope others captured from the beginning to the end of each episode. I built a 27 foot plywood boat, and in a few places I had to fill damages in the bottom so I used ground garden lime with epoxy for the filler. Years later when I ripped off the fiberglass for new glass on the bottom the glass came off nicely, but the places of repair with the lime had to be ground away. This lime is dirt cheap. Test it yourself, and use it instead of silica when you can. It makes a great filler for large voids,

I learned a version of good enough on my first boat restoration. "The better is the enemy of the good." I was always trying to do things better until the old shipwright who ran the boat shed taught me this valuable lesson. I try to apply it to practically everything these days! That said, Aladino is obviously a master craftsman.

You are both very lucky to have partners that can help each other. I had a partner that was that way for 43 years. She was always wanting to do projects together. We built many many cabins, gardens, furniture, as well as meals and travels together. It is unbeatable to have such a partner. She is still with me, thankfully, but she had an accident 7 years ago, such that she can't help me anymore. Falling off a bike, being in a comma for 6 weeks, and now not remembering from day to day what her situation is, is terrible, but.... in some ways not. She still offers every day to help me, not remembering that she can't walk, sort of like that silly movie "50 first dates". Sounds sad and terrible I suppose, but in truth, I still have her. We're celebrating our 50th anniversary this summer, with almost 100 friends invited. We both tell each other how lucky we are each and every day. I hope you tell each other the same.

A job able to be completed only by the young with out children....LOL Been there done that, and completely enjoy watching the adventure all over again...but this time with less back pain...LOL God Bless you both and your youthful ambition. You have become a true Canadian when you are able to reference boat products to the same consistency as maple syrup! LOL Your selection of music is wonderful! Every boat tells a story and this boat certainly tells your story!

Once again the quality of your workmanship as a team comes through and is demonstrated by the superior looks of the finished product. “Color Match?” In a boat like yours that would be boring and it wouldn’t show the amount, and quality, of your own efforts. Personally, I see the differences in tones as a part of the boats history and story for all to see and enjoy. In the future, it might be interesting, and an eye opener for some, to see how long it actually takes to put the blue painters tape on in real time. I’ve done a lot of that over the years and it’s not easy. In your case you both probably put in a lot of time installing the painters tape on the beams and the underside of the front piece, which also looks awesome. Again, great work and the finish looks so professional and appealing too.
