    doctor from singapore working in london here. just made this, i used the steam while cooking to steam overnight rice, everything came out fantastic. used laoganma spicy sauce because i didn't have dou ban jiang. thank you for saving this fellow singaporean's soul 🤩

    Hi Roland.,I just cooked this dish today. I use chicken wing instead of pork rib. Shorter cooking time. Lol.. Just wanna say this dish taste soo yummy. Even my picky family give a thumb up 😊

    Thanks for the recipe Roland. It was yummy! I made it last night along with sauteed garlic eggplant and blanched Yu Choi Sum in garlic sauce. I followed the recipe (doubled) almost exactly except I marinated the meat for an hour with some spices and cornstarch. I'm not sure why but mine did not come out red like yours; it was a deep brown. It was also a little salty for me so I will dial back on the soy sauces next time.😋

    Hi Roland, just wonder if any particular pork ribs we should choose to avoid it from becoming 柴(too dry)? Normal pork ribs or premium loin ribs?

    Hi Roland, this dish looks so tempting 🤤
    I don't have and have never tasted spicy broad bean paste. If I want to substitute it with Korean go chu jang, what ingredients do I have to add or reduce? Or will it be just fine without any changing? Thanks

      It will be fine although if you like it spicier, you can add a little bit of chilli powder or flakes to it. The saltiness will be more or less the same. Just taste and add to your taste.

    Hello is it the red bean curd that makes it so shiny. Thank you I’ve made this several times and it’s always delicious but not shiny. I almost never have bean paste.

    Hi Roland how to make the rib tender?I followed your recipe but after 45 minutes the ribs are not tender as I like it to be

    Thank you for this recipe! I love pork ribs but unfortunately they are sold here only as long ribs so I've been trying to cut them into short pieces. Sadly, the rib seems to be stronger than the meat cleaver. 🤔🤔
    Could anyone who reads this please recommend a good quality meat cleaver, regardless of the price! Thank you.
