The "P Seal" was a great takeaway from this video! I'm in the process of building my oven 6'-1/2' x 3-1/2' x 3-1/2' inside dimensions, but wasnt real happy or confident with the traditional seals. Good Video, Thanks
Im right in the thick of my build. It’s a camel back, 15m total length. It’s quite a task, and on top of that I’m trying to go hybrid too… gas to ramp up and electric for maintenance of temp. All my burner suppliers are telling me it can’t be done. But I’ve got 25kW of excess solar supply I’m trying to utilise, and I’m hoping it’ll be enough to maintain my heat load requirements, if not offset it significantly. Doing it all myself too, so I can totally relate when you say you’ve got zero time on your hands. Super useful video, thanks for uploading. Will definitely be saving this for future use. I’ll post a video of mine when it’s done too 👍🏽
Nice build but one big safety item that I may have missed during the video. Say for instance you fail to establish a flame or lose the flame during normal heating mode, how do you purge the gas from the oven before trial for ignition sequence begins again? In essence your oven is the burner chamber unless you are running an air to air heat exchanger. Too much gas saturation in the oven and you could have an explosion.
Great job I'm looking about building one about the same size as yours about how much it cost you if you don't mind me asking think you have a great day
Packing insulation in a smaller space than specified by the maker leads to less R factor. R13 needs 3.5 inches to achieve R13. There are charts for the actual R value of compressed insulation, it’s all lower.
Nice build I can’t wait to build my second oven I learned a lot from the first and I would change many things but it works for now . Amazing oven build tho !!!
Question do you need to oil the door seal to slip during expansion and contraction? Also the r value of insulation is with the air gaps double laying and compressing it i do believe makes the r value less. Id never need nothing this big just getting an idea of what i need to build in the future
Fucken rad, I actually need to add one of those circulation fans to my setup which has 3 convection fans in the ceiling but when full air doesn't get to the bottom as well.
Looking for some help with my oven, all is already built, but I’m not getting a call for heat from the PID to the Carlin burner. I only have the burner as a heat source, but just can’t get it to fire up. Keeps saying No Call for heat. PID is on. SSR is lit up, switched wires back and forth but not luck
He man. Awesome video. Good information. I am working on getting into powder coating. First starting out is hard to have all the right size equipment to do everything. How long did it take you to get the bigger oven and booth and spray gun or did you start out with the bigger stuff already? I’ve got a regular house oven and the Eastwood pcs250 gun at the moment. Getting ready to build a bigger oven but but not sure what size to make because I’m not that big and don’t have that much business coming in at the moment.
www.krylon.com/en/products/brush-on/high-heat-max-brush-on This is what I used on the inside. I got it at a local Sherwin Williams but you can order it. It has a rust inhibitor in it and so far no issues. I put 2 coats on.
Cool build. The more insulation in the more thermal breaks you have.. on top of that. The most important thing is how airtight the complete box is. If you do not have air leaks, and your insulation is good, you will burn far less fuel and use a lot less electricity . Think of making it so airtight that it is actually like a fish tank you wanted to hold water. This is how airtight you want to get the system. . And if you use a thermal camera to add exterior insulation to slow down the heat loss . You can greatly cut down your electrical power consumption on maintaining the temperature in your propane consumption .

Hopefully the link works
dear god.......why did you even bother with a pvc box, since everything else is free air exposed......nasty dangerous electrical work in there mate. Can see this is a home brew non inspected set up. I hope your neighbours don't live too close!
Made in America. You should be proud of yourself. Great Job.
Well done, id be interested in a closer look at how you sealed up the fan ducts, it looked like you had a nice flanged seal
I'm a motorcycle technician and weekend powder coater in Taiwan. Your guide helps a lot, very appreciate!
Hey Man like your vid. would love to hear more on the wiring on the 4 elements with only 2 SSRs
That is the best one I've seen yet!

Good afternoon how did you wire your Carlin EZ-Gas Natural/Propane Gas and how did you set up the PID wire
I would really like to know also , I have everything and a diagram would be great
Love to se how you wired the Carlin heater.
Mann! Love the build!
I am planning to build one. Your Vedio and explain is very supportive

Just put the orange door seals on the bottom so the floor is sealed. Nice oven!
Nice build I can’t wait to build my second oven I learned a lot from the first and I would change many things but it works for now . Amazing oven build tho !!!
Where does the exhaust gases from the gas burner vent to? Don't want you to get asphyxiated or if the ignition goes out creating a bomb.
That rim trolley looks great, do you make good use of it?
Isn’t a exhaust vent needed?? Since you’re running the carlin
Phenomenal! Thanks so much! 🎉

How did the recirc fans hold up? Did they circulate well without overheating?
Why do you need the elements if the oven is headed by the burner?
are the elements enough to heat the oven or do you need a burner?
Where did you get the control box to house the PID?
😂 love the floor great way to keep the heat.
What about the exhaust vent for the propane? and where does it vent? because won’t it leave moisture inside the box?
Where do i find the links for your Oven
How many hours last the 200 pounds gas tanks?
Nice build. Question, to run 2 heating element do you run it with 1 SSR or is one SSR to 1 element? Thanks in advance
That whole oven runs off of 120v?! I would love to see how you wired that up and what oven elements you run.
120v is only for the burner and fans the elements don’t work off 120v
Yeah the elements are ran at 220v the 120v to the control box just turns the ssr's on and off with the pid controller
Could u run threw your functions on your pid. Having a hard time programming mine correctly

HI, HOW MANY TIME TO HEAT THAT SIZE OVEN ONLY WHIT THE CARLIN .?
Great build! Can you please tell me which paint you will use to paint it inside? Thanks for the answer!

insulation dose not work as well compressed
Right, double the insulation actually makes it way worse.
What is cost of just running electric on this oven? Thank you
Great build, Where did you get the switching valve and reg for the propane tanks
I got that at a local propane shop. Look up Megr-253 regulator.
@@riggscustomcoatings Thank you !
Can you repost link for the burner you used? Getting error off one in description.
How do I hook up multiple burners?
Do you have a link to the Carlin Burner. The old link doesn't work
What was the total cost of this project?
Wheel on door, do you have link? Thanks
How many watts in all is your heating element?
How has your concrete floor held up? I'm trying to decide if I should build a floor or not.
What are you running for a service breaker out of your 220 outlet?
What king of circulating fan are you using?
What kind of insulation did you use? Will paperface r19 burn up?
What paint did you use for the inside of the oven?
where did you get the silicone gasket material

does anyone got the link for the silicone rubber piece

How are you running so many elements on 120v ????
It’s 220v in power, the 120 runs fans and the burner
120v is just to power the pid controller to turn on the ssrs which have 220v ran to them on a 70a breaker.
They are used on RV’s. So there’s another place to try.
