Trying to make a booth. Really nice work you guys done. Love it. I was wondering about the fans also. But someone in the comments asked. Broan 700 cfm in line. Thanks. I appreciate the info. You are awesome thumbs up!!!!!
Amazing Job Building. At first I watched the video where is was done. And was thinking where did he buy this one from, Its well build. Looks better that the ones sold at stores.
I have watched many video's and by far you have the most professional looking spray booth. Can you tell me where to get the fans and the galvanized corners inside and for the outside frame. Thanks
Thanks Michael! I’m located in Canada so I got my fans and sheet metal from my local hvac supplier. The sheet metal is used for fabricating ducting. The fans are BROAN 700 cfm in-line fans from the hvac supplier as well. It works amazing.
Nice build, might be borrowing some of the ideas for my own both. Links to some of the products would be nice, especially the fan controller switch on the outside, definitely having that idea.
Thinking about buying the exhaust fans you put in your powder coat oven just wondering if they’re adequate for everything you coat and if you’ve had any issues ?
Just found your video. Love the way the booth turned out. I'm debating on doing something similar with my own setup. I have a slightly smaller booth already for Cerakote and I'm having a problem with overspray. As I do this in my garage, I need to find a better solution. I'm debating between doing an all enclosed booth or something like yours. How do you think this booth you built will work with something like Cerakote? Right now my fans are just 2 20" box fans with some filters for exhaust. Let me know what you think.
Hey Mathew! Thanks for checking out my video. So this booth works amazing for powder coating. The fans are 700cfm fans each with variable speed controls so it helps with any powder or overspray leaving the booth. I’m not entirely sure on the cerekote process but I know it involves spraying which I use this booth for automotive paint. My one downfall is the booth needs to be bigger. If it was wider by 3ft and deeper by 2ft I could actually get in there and move around. Right now I have to spray parts outside and have the fans catch the overspray or I need to use my rolling rack. All and all it works great for my hobby shop but if you have room I’d make it bigger! I don’t think a fully enclosed one is necessary
Love the build I actually have the same l700l V fans, just to bring it to your attention, the motors are not explosion proof, venting paint fumes could cause an explosion as the motors act as an ignition source for obvious reasons, powder should be ok since it doesn't make it passed the filter. Just passing some helpful information
Looks great! Is there a reason to use metal on the inside? Bare metal kinda makes sense because you can clean paint off easy. But painted metal doesn’t make sense to me. But I’m sure I’m missing something.
Thanks! I made a video called my powder coat set up where I go through it all. I wish it was a bit bigger but not by much. Other then that it is perfect!
Looking at getting back into powder coating in my new house. Do you run into powder getting on the lights and walls or do the high cfm fans keep the overspray under control? This coming from a guy that used an old armoire and a box fan as a paint booth. Didn’t work great and my light source just baked powder that got on it lol
What is the maximum depth we need and what type of Bloor fan used and what is the capacity of fan did only air go through duct is it completely powder saver or not ? R the filters control wastage of powder
The in-line duct fan is a BROAN 700 cfm fan and the filters are 16x20x1. It catches 90% of the powder and I change the filters every few weeks. They are only about $5 each.
I would definitely do it again over buying one. It’s the exact size I was looking for. Build cost was probably a few thousand dollars but I’m sure you could knock that down by switching out some of the materials and simplifying it a bit more
Really nice setup, thanks for sharing - I will definitely be borrowing some ideas from this. How are those filters doing as far as staying clean? Do you vac them and reuse them or just replace as needed? Also, what gauge steel sheet metal did you use to line the inside? Thanks.
Hey Brett! The filters hold up great. You can remove the filters and blow them out or vacuum them but I honestly just replace them. They are $4 each from my plumbing supplier and I’ve only had to replace them 1 time since I built the booth. The sheet metal is your standard hvac ducting thickness which is 28 gauge. I just buy them in sheets by Ecco or whoever sells sheet metal. Another option could be door skin. It’s thin sheets of wood (like balsa wood) Home Depot or lower will carry it. it won’t be as glossy with paint on it but will be a lot cheaper and easier to work with. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
Do you happen to have a link to where you got your fans? That booth turned out awesome. I'm currently building one like this for my cerakote and really like those fans. Great walk through the steps video
@@martinjamesdesigns3748 awesome thank you! You should heck out Branson Cerakote on UA-cam, I went to them and did their training program. They are amazing and the training is over the top!

Thanks I appreciate that! I wanted it to be used for powder coat and paint and needed it a specific size plus I could save money doing it myself!

Hey Adam that’s awesome! Thanks for the support dude! 🤙🏼
Sweet set up. Can you tell me the electrical power specs used on this booth. Looking to do the same. Thanks
Hey man! I just used a 15 or 20 amp circuit to run the 2 fans with a variable speed controller and some led lights on a switch. Doesnt take much power

The fans in the booth? Yes they have been great. For powder coating it is more then enough. It’s perfect for paint jobs too. (Small ones)

Good job... Are these fans SPARK proof??
Hey Andre sorry for the late response! I actually don’t think they are spark proof. I was unaware of that until another viewer brought it up!
Hey man, how is your Eastwood oven holding up? I've heard mixed reviews
It’s absolutely amazing. No issues at all and I’ve had it for over a year and have used it a ton. It’s pricey for sure but it’s safe and reliable IMO

I used 2 BROAN 700 cfm in-line fans. I then used 2 variable sped controls so I can adjust the velocity between powder coat and paint projects

What and where did you get the fan set ups ,what kind are they how much
The fans are BROAN in-line fans. Any plumbing/hvac supplier can get them. I’m not exactly sure how much they were. Probably around $100-$150 each
You could definetly get away with just using 1 if your booth is this size or smaller. It pulls more then enough air
