    I’ve been watching about 200 videos on making an oven. 16 months into it today.18th. Trying to figure out the propane burner now. Have electricity that still has to finish. But i went into this blind also. I can only spend a few hours a day at my shop. Plus other projects every now and then. I try not to take anything much. Because I want to get my shop together. Fabrication. Went into that blind also. Your advice on the propane helped me out a lot. I do already have 2 100 lbs tanks. Thank goodness I was able to see yours again. Mine is 8x7x6 tall ,depth ,width . Thank you

    May I ask why you went with forced air propane heater instead of a propane 200,000 BTU conventional heater?

    • @mlc_fab
      @mlc_fab  3 місяці тому

      The main reason for the forced air heater was because we had one in the shop. When it worked I bought one similiar to it.

    Hey bud very nice oven. Mine is a very similar setup. Just wondering how your temp is staying so close to your setpoint. Are your inkbird pid settings factory or did you adjust it? Mine is overshooting about 20 degrees both ways. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    • @mlc_fab
      @mlc_fab  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for the comment. I only changed 2 settings in the inkbird. Selecting for Fahrenheit and one other where you had to change a setting to k I believe. I’ll have to look at the controller and check for sure. Can post a short of my settings if that will help.

      @@mlc_fab Ok bud thanks! I will keep trying to work it out. I noticed you have an adjustable reg on your gas hose, what pressure are you running? Thanks! And your doing some great work!

    • @kevinmartin5960
      @kevinmartin5960 Рік тому

      You need to use a adjustable regulator otherwise it burns too much gas, more than likely your overheating issue.

  • @eddielane7009
    @eddielane7009 Рік тому +1

    If you and another gas bottle with an automatic change over, you will deplet the first bottle. It doesn't have enough pressure to keep up once the gas starts getting low. Ideally 4 bottles connected would be perfect and also if you every have your bottle freezing it will solve that problem as well. Thanks for sharing your video.

    • @mlc_fab
      @mlc_fab  Рік тому

      Been wanting to add a second bottle. Right now I’m getting 12-13 hours on this cylinder. Get a little frosting. But don’t see a change in heating until I’m down to the last 4 or 5 gallons.

    • @kevinmartin5960
      @kevinmartin5960 Рік тому

      I take it you don’t have a home built oven, stop giving misleading information regarding 4 bottles.

    Hey mate when your heater turns off does your oven hold the same temperature for 20 minutes or is your heater constantly turning on and off the whole time to maintain the same heat? I just built a electric heating element oven and if takes forever to heat up and draws way too much power and I'm wanting to go the propane or diesel powered heater route.

    • @mlc_fab
      @mlc_fab  Рік тому

      Thanks for the comment. The oven is off 1:00 to 2:00 minutes. Runs for 1:30 to recover. With better insulation and some sealing I believe it could be better

    You have to have the vents? Couldnt you chimney it outside

    • @mlc_fab
      @mlc_fab  3 місяці тому

      I have actually been considering running a chimney to the outside. The only vent I currently have in the oven is in the lower corner of the door. To help with pressure inside the oven.

    how many heat cycles doues the propane tank lasts?

    • @mlc_fab
      @mlc_fab  5 місяців тому +1

      12-16 hours of oven time. With pid if the part was in the oven for 40 minutes. The heater would only be on for roughly 20 minutes of that.
