Practice with an rc helicopter before flying the R22, it has larger control inputs lol! If you can fly an rc, you can fly an r22 😅
No, cause the wind ruins the rc piloting
If you can dodge a wrench... then you can dodge a ball😂 but really lol if you fly rc planes, you have knowledge of aerodynamics, and that physics goes hand in hand with it. But scale rc planes are nothing compared to flying an actual plane. I've soloed 3 times in a Cessna 150, I also tried to get into rc flying, but I crashed immediately😂 its a completely different perspective

What are those switches they flick in Hollywood movies when they get into helicopters and start it?
Modern helicopters have a FADEC system, effectively an ‘on/ off’ switch for the engine that does just that !
I don’t know about every helicopter but, in the Apache you turn the battery on, turn the APU on, start left engine wait for it to settle turn left engine to idle then start the right engine wait for it to settle then turn the right engine to idle. Then you bring the throttle power slowly up and then turn off the APU.

How far can a helicopter like this go?
In an r22, you have a maximum endurance of around 3 hours or so , at a cruise speed of about 80kts, that’s around 240 nautical miles, or 276 statue miles
Ok, but what helicopter can go a 1000 miles!
Well a CH47 chinook can fly 1200miles if fully fuelled with an additional ferry tank, and the HH-60J Jayhawk has a range of around 800 miles

How long will it take to fly a mosquito helicopter. That copper is really small.
A smaller helicopter isn’t necessary easier to fly- in fact , sometimes harder to, because it doesn’t have all the stability augmentation systems a larger one does, plus it has less mass, and therefore more affected by gusts. On rhe other hand , there are less systems to master , so less technical knowledge is required . I would still expect around 45 hours

Funny how people are like “where are the flying cars” that’s literally what helicopters are. We literally already have flying cars, they just aren’t the most practical things.
That’s certainly one way to look at it!! There are certainly people that use little helicopters , like the R22 in exactly this way

Depends one helicopter - some are as easy as lifting the switch from off to flight , others are more involved!!!

I’m afraid there are different steps depending on the helicopter . In the r22, you put the throttle to close , turn the key like a car then once it fires, engage the clutch , once it is fully engaged , slowly increase throttle till the engine warms up, and the governor can take over . Help?
