The US has sent three carrier groups to the area... the U.S.S. Carl Vinson , the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan, and the U.S.S. Nimitz. Most people do not understand what all this entails. It is composed of roughly 7,500 personnel, an aircraft carrier, at least one cruiser, a destroyer squadron of usually 3 destroyers, and a carrier air wing of 65 to 70 aircraft. A carrier strike group also, on occasion, includes submarines, attached logistics ships and a supply ship. Add in support from South Korean bases (and other bases in the area), satellite and spy plane data recovery and addition carrier groups in the area. There are likely several submarines not attached to the carrier group operating in this area. Also understand that the Patriot system uses the SM-2 missiles and the THAAD systems uses the SM-3 missiles the Sterrett carries and both missiles and the radar systems are part of the Aegis Combat System. They likely have the new AN/SEQ-3 Laser Weapon System or XN-1 LaWS and They have tested in against small drones it is capable of being used on missiles, mortars, and jets and and the system is supposed to have 3-5x the strength and range by 2020. The U.S.S. Carl Vinson and the U.S.S. Nimitz strike groups include a total of 6 Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyers, including the USS Sterett. The U.S.S. Ronald Reagan is more of an attack group. It still has 3 Destroyers, but one is the old style destroyer with the big guns, the second is a torpedo ship, and the last is a mix of weapons, from the Phalanx and 130mm guns to SM1 and Tomahawks cruise missiles. These groups likely include several amphibious attack ships. So if one of these ships is such a big deal then how about 6 of them?
They should be afraid, my grandson is the "Fireman" on this destroyer. He aims and fires the gun on the for deck! He joined the sea cadets in 8th grade! Very proud of him!
we were up in maine several years ago and i think we saw one of these when we drove through bath and passed by BIW. i'm glad we have it and it sounds like they better run when they see it coming.
Not screwed but afraid, yes. Afraid that Amerika is going to leave another country in smoking ruins adorned by the bodies of innocent people. Got children? Imagine them dead by a foreign power. Millions have been left feeling that way while fuckwits like you applaud the power of your weapons. I expect that, though you are an overweight fantasist (judging by your signature), you don't have education or imagination enough to guess at the horror Amerika is playing with.

Take a look at the clueless comments on social media, Hollywoods greatest success has been dumbing down the peoples of the world as a whole, and radicalising them into believing that the solution to everything lies at the end of the prime choice of all cowards, a gun. Firstly there is a need to address the universal lack of insight which exists thank's to the Hollywood (not-realistic) film industry, as to the unimaginable nuclear forces that would be unleashed, in the event of what essentially would be a nuclear war of total annihilation. Putting aside the life exterminating effects of the alpha, beta, and gamma radiation and fireball heat extremes that are attendant to all nuclear explosions, the explosive force that results from any nuclear explosion, exists beyond any level of human comprehension. To provide some degree of perspective as to the humongous force that results from the power of a nuclear explosion, the explosive force of a single one-kiloton nuclear bomb, is equal to the area of a football field stacked with sticks of TNT to the Height of the Empire State Building. UGM-133 Trident II From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Specifications[edit] • Unit cost: US$ 37.3 million • Range: With full load 4,230 nautical miles (7,840 km); with reduced load approx. 7,456 mi (12,000 km) (exact is classified)[8] • Maximum speed: Approximately 18,030 mph (29,020 km/h) (Mach 24)[1](terminal phase) • Guidance system: The MK 6 Astro-inertial guidance navigation system which is able to receive GPS (Global Positioning System) updates. • CEP: Requirement: 90 metres (300 ft). New START provides for further reductions in deployed launch vehicles, limiting the number of Submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBM) to 288, and the number of deployed SLBM warheads to a total of 1,152. Note The USA has twelve Nimitz Class Nuclear Battle fleets, with each one possessing a Nuclear arsenal, that is capable of wiping out an entire Continent. However, despite this information being freely available on the internet, we have a dangerous imbecile declaring North Korea to be a giant nuclear power after launching one single primitive intercontinental missile. And given that all of the nuclear-armed nations of the West are in agreement, that this psychopath is a menace to world peace, it follows that all of their nuclear arsenals would (are?) be ranged against him. So what needs to be done? On the one hand, the Chinese regime should try putting the shoe on the other foot, regarding what they expect of Western nations. And ask themselves what they would do, if it was they rather than the rest of the world that was placed under the direct threat of a nuclear attack. The answer is, that in order to counter the threat they would be forced to set in place defensive emplacements and mechanisms, to prevent and to ensure that any attempted preemptive strike, was immediately countered. What China needs to consider is that it is the nature and it is the stupidity of all bullies, that they will keep on pushing others until the day comes when the worm finally turns, or they meet their nemesis. And if China continues to allow this uncontrollable and unpredictable menace to grow within its protective shadow, they must be prepared to accept all of the possible consequences that will result. On the other hand, the USA also needs to deal with and shut up its loudmouthed bully and braggart Donald Trump, because to put the future of an entire nation in the hands of a single ignoramus, is essentially no different to the situation in North Korea. And the only sensible approach to take regarding this crisis is for all parties concerned to enter into diplomatic discussions, as to how this menace to world peace can be negated and gotten rid of. If not, as with the nature of all of human history, sooner or later, what gets put around will surely come around, and what you have sewn you will surely reap. www.fromthecircletothesphere.net

Morning guys it so July 14 just saw your video is when I let you know that was very informative and a really good video continue up the good work and we rely on you and your data
after the tragic Fitz episode im now fully convinced that the old story about the US navy ship ordering a lighthouse to move out of its way is not a myth.
Ha......My Grandpa served on USS Sterett (DD 407) during World war 2. His ship was hit by a kamikaze off Okinawa. Blew a HUGE hole in the side, between ships magazine and fuel bunkers. Gramps kept the propeller hub from the plane.
I love our military and support it 110%. But because I love out military so much, I say this out of grave concern for it. One of our supposed most technologically advanced destroyers could not even detect a merchant ship four times its size going 20 mph until it crashed into it and killed 7, and I'm supposed to have confidence that we're ready to fight a war?!?!?! Okay, human error can be blamed, so what the hell kind of "professionals" are we training and paying for?!?! Okay, mistakes happen...but what the hell kind of mistake is letting a ship going 20 mph run into you while you have 300 on board with all the latest detection equipment installed?!?! We. Are. America, not Kenya!! It's goddamn embarrassing!!!
Dan Denali Do you REALLY think you know all the particulars regarding this accident? Just what is your top level Pentagon clearance that gives you the right to bloviate on an incident you obviously have no knowledge. Do you REALLY think the US Navy is telling YOU the "whole" story? I'd laugh if you weren't so pathetic.
IT WAS NOT the American Navy's fault that they hit a cargo vessel...Because, That particular Cargo Vessel was operating at night with literally no lights, nor was it announcing its presence. Not to mention, at night...the waters off the coast of Japan are often so crowded with fishing and cargo vessels that no large ships dare to approach the island at night. Most wait til morning. However, our vessel had to be there & when you got hundreds of fishermen & cargo vessels jetting around one of our large navy ships w/o notifying anyone of their presence & no lights it's only a matter of time before THEY cause an accident.
Savage Savant hmm operating at night no navigation lights no electronics emitting sound like something a naval ship might do so no excuse for no situational awareness

The ships are just fine. What is lacking is the leadership, command and will to employ ships, planes and troops in defense of this nation. As a retired Corps Of Engineers Captain I have seen and met the real leaders we used to have. They are now gone. sad.
So it doesn't defend against long range missles which is the type we anticipate they will use . It still confuses me as to why we never heard anything from Russia about the NK missle that landed 70 miles of their shore.Of course it was a test missle but how would Russia have known that.
Manny Fernandez you need to research. A Italian Cruise Liner the Andrea Doria got T boned by a big Swedish Cruise Liner in 1955. It took the Andrea Doria took over three hours to sink and 56 dead on the Andrea Doria and 6 on the Stockholm. It is the biggest recuse in Maritime History. So your comment saying the Destroyer didn't sink because it was T boned doesn't hold water (no pun intended). The Stockholm had the front part of the Bow crushed in but was not endanger of sinking. There is a photo of the Stockholm coming into New York damaged.
Yes, the voice is much better than we've been hearing on most of these video sites. Thanks for using real human voices in lieu of computer generated software voices. Note: At the end of the video it was apparent that, that last little request for feedback was a crappy software voice again. Just get rid of the software voices any you'll be ok. Just for the record, when I start hearing software voices I go to the next video., Can't stand listening to one of those monotone glitching software computer generated audio's.
Anyone ever see the movie Battleship? the destroyers were Arleigh-Burke class destroyers, shows more or less the capability of the cruiser. or even saw the TV miniseries of Last Ship? that also was one of the destroyers. So for korea to fear one class of ship, it would be in their best interests to do so. PLUS, I imagine there are a couple of Attack Subs out in the South China Sea, SOMEWHERE.
If it is about technology lets translate this into space. A guided missile is basically a gyroscope with some guiding system attached to it such as radar, laser, fiber optics, etc. So once the guide attaches to a target it follows it with the gyroscope and the missile as well. For space or even for extra long range charges there are some requirements. First the charge or missile needs to be deployed into space by the means of a space rocket and then get stationary or even orbital. In space they need (at least) radars or military saterlites to locate a target and send the signal to the missiles which I guess cannot use gyroscopes lol. Then a propulsion and guiding system specially for space travelling needs to be activated in the missiles in order to strike the enemys military saterlites, enemy´s missiles or for reentering earth (if suborbital) in order to hit a ground target after earth rotation or either and less possible orbital traveling. Of course explosives specially designed for space environment are also needed. A new technological challenge for a whole new theatre of war which is still somewhat fantasy. Well in 2006-2007 China was first in showing their space missiles to the world.
There are 2 or 3 carrier strike groups around NK right now. Each group has 3 or more ships with these capabilities in it. 2 ships with these capabilities launched 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles against Syria for using Chemical Weapons (Those are classed as WMD btw) a few months ago. We also have lots of planes in Japan that can drop MOABs if need be. And we have not covered all the planes on those carriers nor all the SSGNs nor uSAF bombers. Of course if we use this SK will get hit and hit hard.
Twice electronics on sisters of this ship (I almost made typo shit - unwittingly) was disabled, making them floating chunk of metal, not a multi-capable weapon.
Exhuasted all diplomatic efforts? 1- N Korea want direct talks with the USA but the US refuses until all kinds of pre-conditions are met. N Korea wishes guarantees of peace and a treaty, but the US refuses time and again. N Korea favours getting rid of its nuclear weapons if the US follows suit, but the US refuses. In fact, the US is the only country that steadfastly refuses to attend global conferences about denuclearization. 2- N Korea will never use a nuclear weapon offensively, since they won't last long enough to enjoy the hit. Launching a pre-emptive nuclear war is the same as waging an offensive war using nuclear weapons -- only the US has ever done so and threatens to do so. All the fuss is politics.
Nothing that floats is unsinkable. You can only highlight advantages and disadvantages but it will not guarantee anything. These weapons malfunction during war.
I COULD SEE NORTH KOREA getting split up by the US, Russia, Japan, South Korea and China. ...Ending up in a rejoining of Korea as a whole, not unlike Germany after WW2.
Weapons being in the hands of madmen is a very scary thought. But I´d like to address the points made: No. 5 has nothing to do with the ship´s capabilities in war as it doesn´t matter on which wharft it has been build. No. 4 is halfway understandable but again the tonnage in itself is not an argument. The speed was mentioned but there was no conlcusion drwan that the ship could easily outrun any NK vessel incl. submarines. Onyl the last three points make it clear why the USS Sterett is a force to be reckoned with by NK
Look what the Russians did with two SU-24s in the Black Sea to an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer 2-3 years ago, shut all of its systems down, all of them completely, making it a cork without the fishing line.
There is one good question that I see raised in comments. How many of the electronics built into these highly technical ships are from China and other enemy countries? Also how possible would it to be those electronics components to secretly make our tech systems inoperable or subject to hacking and losing control of our own weapons? Everyone knows most all electronics components come from the very nations we are dealing with!.
What if the Fitzgerald accident wasn't really an accident? Suppose the Chinese or North Koreans, who are very skilled in IT, have developed the ability to hack the GPS satellites such that the container ship and the Fitzgerald had false GPS data and were manipulated into a collision. Is that any more preposterous than the Fitzgerald somehow not able to see a huge container ship despite having one of the most advanced radar systems in the world? Think about it. If the Fitz's navigation system had hacked GPS readings, the timing of where they were relative to the container could have led to the "accident". Then think about how missiles hit their targets. They also have to rely on GPS data. If the ship position isn't accurate because of hacking, perhaps the missiles might fall harmlessly into the sea instead of hitting their targets. Finally, if such was done or could be done, think of the small fraction of money spent on hacking versus the billions spent on ships and munitions. Ironic, isn't it?
That still wouldn't explain why the port and starboard mid-watches along with the helmsman and Office of the Day on the bridge didn't visually see a ship the size of a downtown office building coming right for their port side. Must have been texting at sea, lol !
What you write sounds reasonable. Perhaps the officer on deck assumed that the normal GPS settings had to be correct and did not set the watch correctly. It's complacency if that's what happened.
You are correct that GPS is not used for collision avoidance, but knowing the ship's exact position coupled with the Fitz's advanced radar system, is part of collision avoidance as is, of course, setting the appropriate watch. I suspect the Fitz crew became overly reliant on advanced technology and they became careless and then confused. If the GPS was hacked, they didn't know where they were relative to other traffic. While they were trying to figure out conflicting information signals between radar and GPS readings and with the starboard watch possibly derelict in his duty, the collision was inevitable. These incidents are the result of multiple system failures. My suggestion that the GPS satellites were hacked is admittedly conjecture, but what's not conjecture is multiple system failures possibly stemming from over reliance on technology. If I wanted to inject a GPS hack into that environment, the seeds of a serious event were already planted, and the hack made it worse
Previous administrations have been tired of the North Koreans and have not used military force as they tried diplomatic means instead. The question is: "will the Trump Administration ready to use military force to stop the North Koreans?" as they have tried other means without success.
"And you get a nuke! And YOU get a nuke! AND *YOU* GET A NUKE! What? Why won't you let us have nuclear weapons!? (kicks and screams)" If you threaten to hold a gun to the head of anyone that stares in your general direction, everyone is going to ensure you don't even get a gun. Super simple stuff.
lnwlnw lnw - AMAZING THE IRONY, THE FACT THAT THE SHIP THAT HIT IT WAS BY ASIANS, AND THE SHIP CAN STILL SHIT ON ANYTHING YOUR FISH SMELLING BREATH PEOPLE AND GOVERNMENT CAN HANDLE. SO LAUGH AT THE FACT IT CAN STILL SHIT ON YOUR COUNTRY AS IS CHICKEN WING.
Johnboy looks like the congress cut too much budgets on American education system. this comment is a good example of ignorant yankee who doesnt know that cargoship cant make tighter turn than warship thus that should be the warship's captain to blame LOL
The North Koreans should not fear any american tin tub warship, especially if it is moving.....they have great difficulty getting from A to B without running into other ships.
My friend was in the Navy and deployed on the Sterrett for a while, he gave me a tour, that's a heck of a lot of firepower on that boat

Take a look at the clueless comments on social media, Hollywoods greatest success has been dumbing down the peoples of the world as a whole, and radicalising them into believing that the solution to everything lies at the end of the prime choice of all cowards, a gun.

THAT GOES OUT SAYING THESE ARE IN ADDITION TO THE FLEET THIS LIST IS FOR THE CIVILIANS......
USS Ronald Reagan is in Singapore. USS Carl Vinson is East of Hawaii heading back to SD. USS Nimitz is in Hawaii. USS Gerald R Ford is totally out of the picture
How long before a tanker will slam into its side and put it out of action?
..
Hey savage, radar? Kind of designed to prevent these types of accidents, or am I mistaken?
The ships are just fine. What is lacking is the leadership, command and will to employ ships, planes and troops in defense of this nation. As a retired Corps Of Engineers Captain I have seen and met the real leaders we used to have. They are now gone. sad.
If this guy could get his plurals right, I wouldn't suspect the USS Sterett was made in China.
So it doesn't defend against long range missles which is the type we anticipate they will use . It still confuses me as to why we never heard anything from Russia about the NK missle that landed 70 miles of their shore.Of course it was a test missle but how would Russia have known that.
that's 35 miles an hour to the citizens of the country that deploy this beautiful ship.
Doing great.
DDG-62 is the best toys of bowling, lol.
I was on the uss sterett for that 😌
Why can't they detect a Container Ship?
You missed one class of ship which the N. Korens have plenty. The SS Gilligan which goes out daily on a 3 hr tour.
The music is really eerie and creepy. Titled?
just please keep away from those invisible container ships
North Korea is typically referred to as the Hermit Kingdom, not nation or state as used in this video.
It might not be a big deal but it grinds my gears to hear AEGIS pronounced as Ay-Jis when it's proper pronunciation is E-Jis.
Don't even see the point in ships when you can have much more deadly subs...?
Tbh the DPRK would be scared of a wooden rowboat with a kar98k duct taped to the front lmao
Anymore comments about container ships?
as long as you can keep it from getting run into by a container ship.
Just for the record, when I start hearing software voices I go to the next video., Can't stand listening to one of those monotone glitching software computer generated audio's.
you can probably double that and still be short of what that ship can really do.
Good to know.
I think North Korea should be more scared of those almighty cargo ships
to detente war among the koreans is to sign agreement without the US or UN intervention
without hatreds
without sanction or embargo
It's a destroyer with an Ageis system, good radar, and rockets. See - I summarized THE WHOLE THING in just one sentence!
64 thousand dollar question: if north korea is such a sitting duck, why not attack it?
There are 2 or 3 carrier strike groups around NK right now. Each group has 3 or more ships with these capabilities in it. 2 ships with these capabilities launched 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles against Syria for using Chemical Weapons (Those are classed as WMD btw) a few months ago. We also have lots of planes in Japan that can drop MOABs if need be. And we have not covered all the planes on those carriers nor all the SSGNs nor uSAF bombers. Of course if we use this SK will get hit and hit hard.
i don't see a seawiz on that thing do they still use them?
After missing a few meals of kung pow chicken little kimmy will have to drop a pants size or two or start disarming.
As long as we don't put our ships all-in-one basket we should do well
What's with the all caps title and question mark
That ship is Awesome.
A regular Nokorean would say, whats a frozen chicken?
They weren't designed to fight killer Container ships
Twice electronics on sisters of this ship (I almost made typo shit - unwittingly) was disabled, making them floating chunk of metal, not a multi-capable weapon.
Computer controlled "container ship" detection is years away.
I love the American Navy, but have read that Russia has the ability to shut down the electronics on all US ships. Scary.
yeah , we watch the same movie before. One big fat beautiful fancy dream
The correct spelling of the contraction for the word until is 'til NOT * till * otherwise ok
Oh we not like he's gonna give the chicken to the people anyway
I thought North Korea had a lot of frozen chickens.
does it hit cargo ships?
Good video except the robotic voice at the end. What was that all about?
Great weapon as long as there not sent to the bottom by a cargo ship full of new cars.
Unless of course, it manages to run into a cruse ship, losses control and broadsides the Canary Islands.
D. Buckley, DDG-62 is the best toys of bowling, lol.
D. Buckley YOu Are 👉 on point the electromagnetic field is possible to mask both parties
WOW!!!!!!
So, the 5 reasons why NK fears this ship is just a recital of it's basic specifications? Cool story.
5 ships could beat the north korean coast guard or should I say "navy"
This ship is no different than any other Burke destroyer. Hopefully the OOWs are better trained than the Fitz.
What about stealth mines deployed by China/North Korea in the area to take our ships or an EMP taking out all the Navy radar and electronics???
Previous administrations have been tired of the North Koreans and have not used military force as they tried diplomatic means instead. The question is: "will the Trump Administration ready to use military force to stop the North Koreans?" as they have tried other means without success.
Try to use more videos instead of images.
I hope we also have satellites in space that can shoot down the enemy missiles and satellites.
"And you get a nuke! And YOU get a nuke! AND *YOU* GET A NUKE! What? Why won't you let us have nuclear weapons!? (kicks and screams)"
If you threaten to hold a gun to the head of anyone that stares in your general direction, everyone is going to ensure you don't even get a gun. Super simple stuff.
I want one of these.
If North Koreans would watch this they could easily figure out the unitedstates war plan
I'd say, do not underestimate the NKs, as you did with Vietnam, etc.
I feel like the grammar always off on this channel
North Koreans are in fear.........fear that US warships would crash to the cargo vessels before arriving the warzone. LOL
Just revoke the US citizenship of Xi Jinping's daughter and send Xi Mingze and those communist chinese back to shit hole china.
lnwlnw lnw - AMAZING THE IRONY, THE FACT THAT THE SHIP THAT HIT IT WAS BY ASIANS, AND THE SHIP CAN STILL SHIT ON ANYTHING YOUR FISH SMELLING BREATH PEOPLE AND GOVERNMENT CAN HANDLE.
US congress even educates those from shit hole china
lnwlnw lnw - and it shows the lack of driving skills of an Asian nipple dick lol
It' beginning to look like all NK will need to do is put all of their merchant ships to sea and allow the US Navy to play pinball with them.
This video is actually horrible:
1. USS Sterett is not BMD Capable
2. USS Sterett is SPY-1D(V) not A
3. USS Sterett does not have Harpoon Launchers
Range of SM-3=2500 km??????????????
The North Koreans should not fear any american tin tub warship, especially if it is moving.....they have great difficulty getting from A to B without running into other ships.
Remember the Pueblo !
I love modern war. START IT ALREADY!
