Looks better and more aggressive than before. Definitely a more affordable alternative than replacing the whole suspension especially since you really like the way it performs already.
Thank you for this man, i just bought a used JT rubicon and the bottom piece of the fender was damaged. This looks amazing and saved me alot of money that woulda been new fenders
@@DrivingLine Do the fevers flop signs at all? I know some places sell pieces to add rigidity. Did you do anything like that? Last question - did you ever install the inner portion of the fender?
I ended up gluing the front fenders down to the light bracket. The tape did not work very well. Haven’t had an issue with them since then. I don’t have inner fenders for the rear, but I did end up buying some Artec front inner fenders.
I just bought some split flares for my JT sport diesel that are black painted from a rubicon they came with a light kit (I think the light kit is not rugged ridge) and rugged ridge fender liners for $400. Not sure if it was a good deal or not but im nervous about doing the wiring
Great video! I did my inner fender deletes today. Love the Rugged Ridge Lights. They should be here Sat. Do you have a more detailed video concerning their install? And BTW, starting at the bottom to remove the inner is the BEST way! Much easier than starting at the front! LOL
I don't have anything else on the light install. There's really not much to them. Once you get yours in, you will see what I mean. Very straight forward.
@@DrivingLine Thanks for the reply. Mine should be here Sat. I can't imagine hitting the highway without that bracket. My painted plastic fenders are so flimsy after stripping them.
Would the lift still be “necessary” if you had split the fenders ? Looks awesome, and is 9n my list of modifications, I will definitely be doing inner fenders wells in the front.
I believe it's possible that you could do just this mod and run a 37, but I haven't tested it. So, I can't say if there would be any potential rubbing issues. I ended up ordering a set of Artec inner fenders for the front. I just haven't had a chance to install them yet.
Hey Ali, I was looking at Nitto M/Ts, how many miles do you have on yours since you've put them on? I like the look of the fender chop LEDs, but looking to keep the inner flares when I chop ours unless we need the clearance. 👍
Those have a little over 11,000 miles on them. I've been able to pull 45,000 miles out of Trail Grapplers in the past under much heavier vehicles. So, I'm hoping these will go the distance as well.
If it has a two-piece flare design, then yes. I know Max Tow gets wider flares due to the wider axles, but I can’t recall if they get the same one-piece style flare as the regular Sport. The seem is very defined on the two-piece flare.
I have a Mojave and was thinking of getting the LED fender lights, quick question, do I have to leave the inner fenders off complety or can I just cut them. thank you... BTW i have a black plastic ones. not color matched ones.
I believe it’s possible to reuse a portion of it. Obviously, you would have to trim it up a good bit. I think the main issue would be the lack of attachment points compared to how it was from the factory.
You may be able to trim them up and mount them using the few attachment points that are on the body. But, I'm not sure how flimsy they would be. There's much better aftermarket solutions that are designed for this upgrade.
Still working great. You can see some more videos on this channel on how the Jeep has evolved over the years. I no longer have the stock bed. However, the front fenders are still exactly the same.
We've been doing that for years without issue. We have a set of aftermarket inner fenders that we will eventually install. We just have a few other upgrades to complete before then.
Why do people do this? The OEM Jeep fenders are just perfect. Makiing them thinner and flimzier just isn't a good idea. It gives you like half an inch of clearance, but estetically it doesn't look as great anymore. Otherwise a good educational video.
It's the easiest and cheapest way to make room for larger tires without limiting up travel or having to install a taller suspension lift. I would much rather have the Jeep low and stable for my needs.
Great detailed video! As usual…
Thank you.

I painted the white clips and it made it look a lot cleaner
Thank you for this man, i just bought a used JT rubicon and the bottom piece of the fender was damaged. This looks amazing and saved me alot of money that woulda been new fenders
I'm getting ready to start this process. This helpful. TY
Thank you very much for making this video! This is the best one I’ve found with detailed info and step by step procedures. 👍🏻
Thank you!
Outstanding video 🤘🤘
Got my 2022 JTR on Sat and ordered this kit today. Can't wait to get them on. Great video showing how to get this done!
Awesome! Glad you found it helpful.
Thanks for the quality video - super informative!
Thank you! Glad you found it helpful.
Looking great, as usual.
Thanks Henk!
Its been a while since i saw your work on FOUR WHEEL& OFF ROAD, nice to see you still here on video now
Thanks! I enjoyed my time at the magazine for sure.
Good job, looks great 👍👍🤙
Thank you.
Awesome video!
Thanks!
Love your JT videos because mine is very similar to yours. Always informative!! Keep it up Ali
Thank you!
Looks great 👍
Thank you.
Nice looking truck! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you.
Looks great bra!
Thanks Chris!
Great !
I've been trying to find a good video explaining this for my JL. Never thought to look at JT videos. Thank you!
Glad it helped! I couldn’t find anyone that made one for the Gladiator, so I broke down and made one myself!
@@DrivingLine Did you also do the rear fenders? Is that even a thing?
Yes. I cover that in the video as well.

I was thinking about doing this with my JL but with some genright inner fenders.

Your vids.... make me miss OKI/SPT...
Is there a way to keep factory markers? I don't want led markers
The fenders look a lot more fragile after the chop I wonder if they will flap at highway speeds lol
That hasn’t been an issue.

Ali, another great video man! What tent is that?
Thanks Clay! It’s a Simpson Series III from ARB.

You need the oem led head lights I upgraded I had the Halogen’s also.
I agree. It’s on the to do list.
sick, could i do the same chop and lights in my sport s maxtow?
If it has a two-piece flare design, then yes. I know Max Tow gets wider flares due to the wider axles, but I can’t recall if they get the same one-piece style flare as the regular Sport. The seem is very defined on the two-piece flare.
Like your rims, what are they and what offset?
It's the AEV Borah Wheel. +25mm offset www.aev-conversions.com/product/jl-borah/#color
Does the tire hit the old metal body tabs on the front during full flex?
Not with 37s, but it did when I moved up to 40s.
Is it possible to reverse this? As in put back the lower portions of the two-piece fender (if you don't blade off those tabs?)
It's possible. You'd need new clips and retainers, but I would assume that you could make everything go back together if you needed to.
@@DrivingLine thank you!
I have a Mojave and was thinking of getting the LED fender lights, quick question, do I have to leave the inner fenders off complety or can I just cut them. thank you... BTW i have a black plastic ones. not color matched ones.
You can trim out the original ones and reuse the inner fenders.
do the rugged ridge brackets for the rubicon work with non rubicon paint matched flairs?
I don’t think so. The light bracket is designed for the higher flare position of the Rubicon.
Will this work with the painted flair fenders?
Yes.
So there is no way to use the factory fender liner after the chop?
I believe it’s possible to reuse a portion of it. Obviously, you would have to trim it up a good bit. I think the main issue would be the lack of attachment points compared to how it was from the factory.
So the stock inner fender liners won’t fit back once you do this? Or did I miss something?
The stock inner liners attach primarily to lower half of the flare. So, there's no secure way to put them back. None that I could see at least.
are u using the mopar crossbars?
No. They are from a company called AA products.
Did you modify the axels?
These have 4.88 gears. Otherwise, they are the stock axles.
Hello, noob here 👋🏻 are the factory fender liners no longer useable after this mod or did you just not like the look?
You may be able to trim them up and mount them using the few attachment points that are on the body. But, I'm not sure how flimsy they would be. There's much better aftermarket solutions that are designed for this upgrade.
How have these held up after 2yrs of use?
Still working great. You can see some more videos on this channel on how the Jeep has evolved over the years. I no longer have the stock bed. However, the front fenders are still exactly the same.
What bumper is on this gladiator?
It's the Arcus winch bumper from Rugged Ridge
Have you heard of anyone with painted fenders ruining their paint when separating them?
Yes. My friends at Hi-Lift did it on their Overland Gladiator. You can see it in this video : ua-cam.com/video/edA_CYohW6k/v-deo.html
8:02 Corolla?
No, this was a bit further south at Fort Fisher.
Why would you leave your engine bay exposed like that?
We've been doing that for years without issue. We have a set of aftermarket inner fenders that we will eventually install. We just have a few other upgrades to complete before then.
Now those fenders are going to flop around on the highway after weakening them that much lol
They've been like this for 7 months and I haven't had a single issue.
Why do people do this? The OEM Jeep fenders are just perfect. Makiing them thinner and flimzier just isn't a good idea. It gives you like half an inch of clearance, but estetically it doesn't look as great anymore. Otherwise a good educational video.

How to F%^&K up your $60,000 truck, and make more work for myself. Far out man, thanks.......................G
