- Back at the 2018 SEMA Show, Rugged Ridge debuted an awesome new set of replacement daytime running lights or DRL and ones that were specifically designed for a chopped or trimmed factory fenders on a Jeep JL Wrangler or JT Gladiator Truck. Unfortunately, it would take them a whole year to finally put them into production but just as promised, they sent us one of the very first sets for and testing. In this short video, you'll get to see just how easy they are to install as well as just how cool they really look once installed.

You’re easily one of my favorite Jeep/Off-roading channels. Happy to see you posted again. Love how you show a step by step showing how to install everything.
Thank you, we really do appreciate you saying as much and we hope to get back on to a more regular schedule again.
Glad to see you putting out another video. Best Jeep content out there!
Thanks! Been dying to get more videos out - just been super busy.
That music that played when you were rolling out of the garage. The "finished product" music. That's always my favorite part of your install videos
LOL - thank you, we're glad to hear it :)
Happy to see you again Eddie! As always, great video. Thank you Cindy and Eddie.
We apologize for our absence. Been crazy busy but hope to get back into a more regular schedule :)
Been waiting for a Wayalife video since forever! Glad to see you guys are back!
Man, we're so sorry for being MIA. Been super busy.
Buddy you provide such awesome install videos and amazing adventure videos....Wifey and I always happy to tune in to what is next...Thank you both! 👊🍻
We so glad to hear you enjoy our videos and appreciate the kind words :)
came out great so much space freed up and as you stated still has that factory look which i think is a real plus
Yup, has a real factory look.
Been waiting to see a vid like this, looks amazing! Great job guy's 👍

Looks awesome you did a excellent job like the idea leaving the inner fender.
Thank you. So glad you could appreciate what we did :)
As always, your vids are awesome. Looking forward to seeing more trails from you 👍
Thank you and we hope to bring more your way soon :)
What a great looking mod. Nice job
Thank you :)
Great video! I was impatient waiting on these to be released and ordered the lights offered by American Adventure Lab last year. Same results, both look great and free up a ton of travel space. Thanks for the videos!
DJDrCheese I’m on the fence as well. I don’t like that you have remove the inner fender liner and spend another few hundred on replacements. How’s your experience so far?
I like how you make everything so easy to install. Well done 👍
LOL - thank you. Glad we can share installs like this with you :)
Love your videos you two! Keep ‘em coming!
Thank you, we're so glad to hear it :)
Great job! You always make it look s so easy and have great narration and photography. Thanks for the video and by the way, the DLRs look fantastic.

Been looking forward to seeing this product! And had been looking forward to a new JL video! The JT has been getting all the love lately. Haha.

Looks amazing. Eddie you are the Man! You put the new light and it came out clean and great.
Thank you! So glad you like what you're seeing :)
Oh man,you are AWESOME.I hv been waiting for your video so long.beautiful minimalistic look on the fender guard.thumb up for you
Thank you. So glad that you like what you see and we apologize for being gone for so long.
This is the video I’ve been looking for coz everyone chops their liners and I don’t want to do that, I will be installing one from Quake next week on my 2023 392 XR and your awesome installation guide here will help a great deal with mine and prove that it can be done without chopping the liners, thank you.
Glad to hear our video was helpful to you.
Your unboxing scenes are so satisfying lol.
LOL - so glad to hear you enjoy them :)
Welcome back gang!!
LOL - thank you :)
Very detailed install video. Looks awesome as usual. Need to get a set of theses when they come out.
Thanks! Glad we could share this with you :)
I never liked the look of the lights on the fenders when they came out but these are so much nicer and opens the front up more thanks for the awesome video!!!
brian stephens glad you like what you’re seeing 😎
I missed you Eddie and your banging on the metal table lol. I vividly remember the SEMA 2018 video and me asking you to tell them to please make these. Took longer than expected, but worth the wait.
LOL - sorry for being MIA. Been busy.
So slick, awesome video as usual man keep them coming
Glad you like what you see :)
Wow! That looks so good!
You guys make every install look so easy. Wish I had your skills.
LOL - it's called installing a TON of different products over the last 20+ years. :)
Thanks for the great instructional video, used it to install on a JT gladiator. Thanks again!
Glad it helped :)
Hey Eddie. Nice to see you back in accion.. Your jeep looks amazing with the new drl lights..
Thank you and sorry for being gone for so long.
Great video! Love your content! I’m excited for whenever a similar fender flare and light option comes out for the JL Sport. It’s one of the last three items on my list!
From what I'm told, Rugged Ridge will be offering these for a Sport/Sahara as well.
Wayalife that’s very exciting news! I can’t wait. Keep on having fun with your Jeeps and your videos, I know I will keep on having fun watching them! Thank you for all of your content that you put out!
That really improves the front end. As others have said, it should have come from the factory with these lights. I really liked this video and the way you explained each step. You have a new subscriber.
Awesome! So glad to hear it :)
Have gotten reinterested in Jeep's, especially the gladiator..thanks for the fender tutorial. The appeal of DIY customizationon on these $50k vehicles is intriguing..
Awesome! :)
Nice clean job.. They look awesome!
Thanks! We're really happy with them :)
Your videos / channel have the best content 👍🏼
Truly humbled to hear you say as much, thank you.
Kick ass channel, Dude!
Thank you. We're happy to hear you enjoy it :)
Thanks again for another great video with all the small details others leave out ! Even an old guy like me can always learn new things! lol
LOL - so glad that we could be of help :)
Can’t wait to get this for my JL! I was considering the American Adventure Lab ones but when I saw these at SEMA (like you) I knew I wanted these instead. I plan to keep my inner fenders too. Always enjoy your videos! Can’t wait to see more content after following you guys on Instagram.
Thank you, we're so glad that you enjoy our videos. Regarding the Rugged Ridge DRL's, I really think you'll like them a lot.
Wayalife I think I saw you guys in Boulder City NV today. 😉
LOL - you probably did!
Rugged Ridge could easily use this video for install instructions. Very impressive install. Looks great. Your videos are improving.
Thanks!
Wayalife You are welcome, thanks for the quality content!
Man that looks clean!!
I have to say that I've been super impressed with out factory it looks.
By the way really nice result your JL with the new fenders lights.😍

Looks great, Love that option.
Glad you like it!
Great job Rugged Ridge happy these are finally making there way to market I think this is a winner winner chicken dinner
I think they did a great job with these.
@@wayalife When are these going to be available? Great video!! YOU ARE AWESOME EDDIE!
@@paulralston9116 The Rubicon version was supposed to come out next month and the Sport/Sahara ones in June. But, with the whole corona virus thing going on, who knows.
Sweet! Really sets it off!
Thanks! Glad you like what you see.
Another great vid!!!! Thanks Eddie!!!
Thank you :)
About time you put out another vid
Yeah, we're really sorry for being gone so long. We've been crazy busy but hope to get back into a more normal schedule again.
Nice to see you after a winter hiatus. It seems like a lot of detail work to install but they do look awesome!
I'm impressed with Jeep's robust design of their factory DRL mounts. Phew, that's a lot of screws! lol
LOL - it really wasn't too bad of an install. I think it only took me about half an hour to do the other side without filming.
Awesome outstanding job have a great time thanks
They do look really nice.
I think so too :)
Omg finally, I’ve been waiting for a video for so long !!
LOL - sorry about that. Hope to be more regular from here on out.
That is one good looking JL.
Thank you :)
Great video Eddie.
Thank you :)
Ok… Thumbs Up again for the Best Box Openings there is out there ! 😂 Oh and Thumbs Up on the new Fender Look...Hope it doesn’t make Moby too Jealous 😆
LOL - thank you, we're glad to hear you enjoy them. As far as Moby goes, there isn't a whole lot he needs to be jealous of. He's still the most badass Jeep we have in the fleet.
Solid install job.
Thank you :)
I wish these were released, id love to buy some. Thanks for the video Eddie
They should be available for sale next month.
@@wayalife I appreciate the reply a bunch, thanks!
Looks awesome
Glad you like what you see :)
We dont need instructions. You are the best instructions! :)
LOL - thank you, you're too kind and glad you find our videos to be helpful 😎
THAT LOOKS BADASS !!!!!!!!!!
Thanks! We're really happy with them :)
I like it. Gives it a dune buggy look to the front. Nice job

Excellent video. Thank you.
Glad to hear you liked it :)
Looks great!
Thanks George!
Great Installation Video!!! Just picked up our second Jeep a JLU with a eco diesel. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos!!!
Thank you and congratulations! 👍
@@wayalife By any chance are you in California and do you actually have a shop were you actually do lift kits and things of that nature?
My wife and I were born and raised in Southern California but we now live in Carson City, NV. While I have a big garage and do most all of my own work, I am not a "shop" in the sense that I am opened to the public. Sorry.
@@wayalife no worries 😉 at all. I use to do a lot of my own work but as our business grew I shifted more of my time to running the business as opposed to being able to do more fun stuff like work on our vehicles. now they go to a shop and basically hand them the keys and pick it up when it’s done which I kind of miss doing my own work. we have family in Reno and in Bridgeport California which we do a lot of off roading there. We are in Riverside CA. And we do a ton of off roading all around this area but there’s a lot of off roading we do in other areas like Utah and in Arizona as well we certainly would love to come out and hook up on a ride with you guys one day we’ve still never been to the Rubicon Trail. And by the way my name is Erick thank you for making all the cool videos it allows us to see all the cool things that you can do to these new JL‘s. Ro you also have an Instagram page?
@@TYZR4ME Yup, just look for WAYALIFE :)
A tip you might appreciate, after you cut plastic like you have with the dremel and clean with a file, use a cigarette lighter and gently melt the small furry fibres.
Thanks for the tip!
Sweet those are on the list!!!!!!
I think you'll like them :)
Nice work Eddie
Thank you :)
Nice clean look.
Thanks! We really like it :)
Welcome back!
Thank you. Sorry for being gone so long.
@@wayalife I was starting to wonder if you had died and were eaten by the hogs!! Glad to know you were just nusy.
@@shootermcmillan LOL - it's a funny thing how life has a way of getting in the way of the things you really want to be doing. Again, we're hoping we can get to a more regular schedule again :)
Welcome back bud
Can't wait to get these.they should have came from the factory like this
I have to agree, would have been nice if they came from the factory this way.
@@scottstirling4298 LOL - what kind of loser goes around on UA-cam looking for every post he can to say who came out with what first. You really need to get a life! And, if you really want to be technical about all this, I knew of these Rugged Ridge DRL's and was told they had a patent pending on them way before I had ever heard the name American Adventure Lab. But really, that's such a moot point. Good for American Adventure Lab for bringing their lights out to market first. Now that Quake and Rugged Ridge have a set out too, maybe the competition will help drive the price point for all of them to come down a bit. That IS the American way after all and good for all consumers.
Great video!👍🏾
Thank you
Have considered putting something like these on my CJ along with the front recessed side vents from the JL. Turn my CJ into a CJL.
I saw a nice Jeep that said Wayalife in Pennsylvania and I was instantly amazed
Awesome! :)
Thanks for the news video
You bet! Glad we could share it with you :)
I am sorry I did not get a pair when I saw them at the show, I have not been able to find a pair. They look really great!
They were supposed to be released at the beginning of the month but with all that's going on in the world, things got pushed back a bit.
Very informative. Thanks
So glad to hear you found our video to be informative :)
Nice job
Thanks!
Man I LOVE your videos!! I’ve been watching a bunch of videos with the front light replacement BUT I didn’t like all the kits removing the inner fender liner which looks ok but the fender is really weak. THEN I watched your video where you keep the factory wheel well inner fender and I’m going to do this to my Gladiator!
Awesome! Glad we could be of help to you with our video :)
@@wayalife I think you have the BEST Jeep channel!
I was just thinking about you guys today and wondering when your next video would drop!
Sorry for being MIA for as long as we have. Been super busy with other things but hope to get back into the swing of things.
Great job
Thank you :)
Very clean.
Thank you. They really do look factory.
WOOHOO! U HAVE A JEEPSTER!!!
LOL - oh yeah, we call her Emma 😎
How nice and cool.
Glad you like what you see :)
Looks sweet 👀👍
Thank you :)
Man I love y our Videos, you make it looks so easy, and you show and explain everything so well got give you a A+++
Thank you. Truly humbled that you would say as much 😊
Those look great. I wish they would make some that work with the sport 1 piece fenders. A cutting guide would be a great think to include with it.
I'm pretty sure Rugged Ridge will be offering these for Sport/Sahara's. As far as cutting goes, there is no guide because people can install them as they see fit.
If I had those fenders id rock those
Rugged Ridge will be offering these for Sport and Saharas as well.
Another great video Eddie! Your install videos are the best sir! Question for you, do you have front side amber reflectors or are they not required? Keep sharing and upgrading. Looking forward to the next one!
Thank you, I'm glad to hear you enjoy our videos. I do not have an amber side maker light/reflector but then, I live in Nevada and not much is required here.
Those really look good. Gives a lot more clearance for bigger tires.
Oh yeah, time for bigger tires :)
Great detail on the install. What are you doing with the factory leds? I need a set!
LOL @ 2:48 "of course we've got gorilla nuts". I've been following the channel for years and this was enough to make me comment. Keep up the great work.
LOL - glad we were able to get you to comment and hope you'll be back for more :)
Thank you very much!
Dibs on the stock rubi DRL's! nice video, always great content!
Eddie and Cindy - any idea if the LED DRL's can direct swap to a Max Tow Gladiator since it has the halogen DRL's?
Glad to hear you enjoyed our video :)
You got some skills brother
Thank you, I appreciate it :)
@@wayalife hey, I have a really stupid question to ask you. I have a 2021 Gladiator overland. my garage door opener thats in the jeep always turns off when I shut off the vehicle. I then have to start it up again to have the garage door opener to work. Is there a way to fix this? I know you got more important things but this shit really pisses me.off
@@joseangelrivasjr.7710 That is normal and it's supposed to be a safety feature. You're supposed to open your garage door BEFORE you get in your Jeep.
@@wayalife LoL, I get that part "BEFORE!" I'm talking about when parking your jeep. Once you turn off your vehicle, it also stops the garage door opener from operating!
@@joseangelrivasjr.7710 LOL - it's just how it works. Jeep wants you to use the button on our house at that point and time.
Great car
