Rugged Ridge LED DRL Rubicon Fender Chop for Jeep Wrangler JL & Jeep Gladiator JT Gets Installed!

- With the headlights and fog lights updated from incandescent style lights to modern LED technology, the turn signals and DRL lights in the fender flares on Rob's Gladiator needed to be updated as well and our friends at Rugged Ridge had just the fix! Watch as Rob installs the Rugged Ridge Fender Chop LED DRL Turn Signal kit on his JT. This replacement light offers a white LED for daytime running light functions, and it switches to amber when the turn signal or hazard lights are activated. Additionally, it removes the entire factory light assembly and lower plastic trim on the fender flare for an aggressive look, while still allowing you to retain the inner fender liner for protection from mud and dirt, and the inner fender support structure to keep the fender strong. While this is still a pre-production kit, let us know what you think in the comments, and we'll pass them along to Rugged Ridge so we can help make these lights available as soon as possible. Thanks for doing this video. I have the American Adventure Labs High line light kit and did a modified chop to leave the inner most part for added strength, and have been a bit frustrated with the finish on the edge, your suggestion of using a sanding wheel should really clean that edge up for me.

Hey Rob, did you need to get the vehicle flashed and set the fender light settings to led, or do these simply work as soon as you plug them in if you have the factory halogen option?

Awesome! Just need them to come to market. As Alfred Quick said, my only complaint is the light to fender trim fit. It looks like it wouldn't have taken RR too much effort to match the curve perfectly.
They may make some adjustments to the fitment for the final release. Remember, these were a pre-production version that Rugged Ridge wanted to get some feedback on and help gauge better interest for when they bring them to market.
I am ready to order a set when they become available.

Fog light related question. I have a halogen version on my 21 JLUR. Am replacing it with a OEM LED fog lights. Do you know if the connectors are the same between the halogen and led version. Also, do I need to get the Jeep programmed to tell it that I am using the led version now? Thanks

I just got an 80th anniversary edition. It has the painted flare as well. Would something like this be doable, or is this just a Rubicon thing?

Those are awesome! Curious though, since you had Halogen lights and switched out to the LED lights, did you have to get a programmer to eliminate the rapid flash on the turn signals? How did you address this issue?

hey Rob. Would it work without connecting the Relay? When I use the relay and connect it, per the wiring instructions, I get a loud click sound whenever the light flashes (example, turn single activated). The click only happens when the light flashes but it is loud and that doesn’t happen with the factory lights.
I wonder if it’s a bad relay switch or if that is normal. Can you confirm.malos, I’ve tried wiring it as LED and non-LED. I’ve also have tried it without the relay and the click is way more less noticeable. I haven’t used it for a long period of time so I don’t know if the click will just disappear

Will these fit a 19 JL rubicon unlimited non LED. I have halogen, as I noticed so do you. But the video doesn’t specify if an additional plug or tazer is needed to avoid dash lights. Please advise.
Yes, they're fit your 19 JL Rubicon Unlimited non-LED just fine! You shouldn't need a Tazer to avoid any dash lights or a fast turn signal flash.
