What is your favorite Star Wars film?
Return of the Jedi
Attack of the clones or a new hope
Empire strikes back. Just a classic
While Empire Strikes Back is the best in my opinion. I may get hate but the last Jedi is my favorite, as this was the first Star Wars film that made me think.
Revenge of the sith
My grandfather took my dad to see Star Wars, my dad took me to see Attack of the clones, it’s been a huge franchise in our family
But when we sat opening night, force awakens was shockingly not liked by me, dad, or granddad and we didn’t know why we didn’t like it
It’s either the plot holes or the amount they took from a new hope
The Rey Mary Sue stuff is (Mostly) valid tho. I mean, this girl defeated Kylo in a lightsaber fight despite never holding one before. Yeah learned how to use a staff during her time on Jakku but that’s different from wielding a glowing blade. She somehow managed to do Jedi mind trick on a Stormtrooper. She lifted rocks to save her friends from a cavern despite the fact that her Force training with Luke was minimal. And TROS made it worse when she was able to use the Force to heal a sand worm and Kylo Ren, making Force Healing a thing in the canon. Rey stumbles along the way so she’s not 100% perfect, but to say she struggles a lot isn’t exactly true either. Most of what she did was effortless and made her seem like she was the most powerful Jedi that ever lived.
Also, it may just be me but can we stop calling the Sequel Trilogy part of the Skywalker Saga? Yes the Skywalkers are in it, but this trilogy was NEVER centered around them? And Rey is not a Skywalker. She’s a Palpatine.
Exactly plus they hardly mentioned Anakin at all since the whole Star Wars saga was about him so the sequel should had been about his legacy. Im mainly saying this because they had a protagonist problem honestly speaking Rey is not good in a leading role she done things that really left uninspiring she lack growth. If it had been about grandchildren of Anakin Skywalker it be a different story but the whole so called sequel trilogy is just a rehash of the original trilogy.
Not only that, but KK has been preaching force is female for ages now. If you still can't see there is an agenda, then you are choosing to remain blind.
"I'm gonna sound like a terrible person for saying this, but I don't think this movie gets enough hate for what it is."
... even Pop Screen, the most positive internet influencer we know, had to say it 💀
Huh?
The Clone Wars Final Season, The Mandalorian, and Andor are really the best things to happen from Disney!!!
Agreed
Tales of the Jedi was really good
Does the Phineas and Ferb crossover count?
Wow, 3 things, let's see how much great stuff came out pre disney.
I thought rouge one was a pretty good Disney Star Wars movie
Mickey Mouse: “wats south park do i own that? “
Disney employee: “ no not yet sir “
My main complaint I have with the Sequel Trilogy which kind of set the tone to my disappointment with trilogy was that they wrote the Jedi out of existence again. The Prequel tells the story of the Jedi being at their peak and suddenly killed along with Anakin becoming Darth Vader and Palpatine becoming the Emperor. The Original Trilogy tells the story of the Jedi no longer existing except for Obi-Wan and Yoda along with the Galactic Civil War. That trilogy end with the Jedi returning with Luke Skywalker being the new Jedi. The Sequel Trilogy nullified what Luke Skywalker and the what Rebellion did when they defeated the Empire.
Jurassic World Dominion now makes Rise of Skywalker look like the Return of the King.
Nah they are close to the same quality
About Rise of Skywalker I saw a movie review about that movie on UA-cam and I agree with the guys in that video honestly bringing back palpatine was pretty dumb but ALSO THE WAY THEY DID IT made it even stupider.
Imagine if The Force had actually awoken, the Dark Side choosing to take on the appearance of its greatest manipulators, The Light Side choosing to awaken within Luke's clone (Rey).
A clone that was somehow older than the original :D
I wish the new movies were a couple of years in the future and didnt include the skywalkers.
The Clone Wars is forever iconic!!!
I actually liked The Book of Bobba Fett. I kinda saw it as Bobba trying to put the clone wars behind him and trying to turn over a new leaf on Tattooine. It was essentially what the character was doing throughout the first two seasons of the Mandalorian before his reappearance in that show.
I didn't mind Luke and Din Djarin showing up towards the end because I felt that they were leading up to something huge with that.
I have a feeling that maybe season 3 of the Mandalorian, and with Ahsoka confirming the return of Rebels characters that maybe these shows are leading up to a retelling of Heir To The Empire; a Legends story. I mean Star Wars Rebels brought back some stuff from the EU like Thrawn and those disintegration guns.
I think because of Episode 9, a lot of people get too worked up whenever we get something from Star Wars that doesn't meet everyone's personal demands and I fear that this is going to be a permanent curse to this franchise heading into the far away future.
So glad this is more of a balanced look at the past couple years of Disney Star Wars and not just constant hate, Star Wars has been bigger than ever lately and the hate Disney gets for it is blown way out of proportion.
Anyone know what song he plays at the end of the video? I really like it and its been bothering me that I don't know what it's called
I might get some flack for this, but I personally think there really shouldn’t be a fourth Skywalker Saga trilogy. I think the “trilogy of trilogies” structure that the saga already has is pretty neat and while TROS certainly wasn’t the best thing in the world, I think Disney/Lucasfilm should release more tie-in media to help “patch” the movie like how Lucasfilm released a TON of tie-in media for the prequels which, in many fans’ eyes these days, “fixed” the prequels and “made them good”, so why not give the sequels the same treatment?
Other than that, this was a great video man. Keep up the good work
I agree. A new trilogy is not needed. Some new good and refreshing content is
No the prequels have always been good. Nothing "Fixed" them. The entire sequel trilogy was ass. I can like all these different shows and a few of the books and comics, but the sequels are unfixable. They are continuing with Rey which is sad.
Honestly never got folks that vehemently despised the prequels. They were products of George Lucas & remained consistent within the universe they were created for. They added to the story, instead of taking elements away.
I honestly see Last Jedi as I see Eternals. What I mean is they took some big swings (risks) but kinda missed in the execution. Still, I respect both films for taking creative risks in their respective franchises
I fundamentally disagree with pretty much everything except RoS but i respect you giving us your point of view
Unpopular opinion, but ever since I watched it for the first time a couple months ago on Disney+, Rogue One is my favorite Star Wars movie, K-2S0 is one of my favorite Star Wars characters and I love it's more gritty, darker story. They're not afraid to have a tragic ending it I think that makes it so great.
Agreed
Man imagine a Star Wars game developed by Bethesda with an original story
Another system needs your help. I'll mark the location😂
Bethesda never made a good game
@@lonadar1373game sales dont Mean its a good game if you say that then most mobile games are better than skyrim, bethesda is creatively bankrupt and made nothing original for years
Which franchise do you think is better Marvel or StarWars???
John Wick And Attack on Titan
Edit: Forgot about Toy Story and Batman Trilogy
Neither they both suck ass and they are garbage franchises thanks to Disney and I just want them to die. Or they can go and find a way fix them.
Marvel
Hey if anyone hasn’t I recommend go listen to How did this not get made’s podcast episode on Duel of the fates it talks about the original script for episode 9. Now I actually don’t hate the ride of Skywalker as much as everyone else seems to. It’s not the best Star Wars at all(it has plenty of problems). But I had fun and I enjoyed it more then the prequels. But I will admit duel of the fates definitely seemed like a more interesting film in my opinion.
Now the podcast episode does go into more detail so I recommend go listen if you want more details but the short version is less than 2 weeks after this draft was submitted Carrie Fisher unfortunately passed away and apparently there was some creative disagreements behind the scenes which resulted in Colin trivaro getting fired, (there’s some rumors that he was displaying some toxic behavior I don’t know for certain) by the time J J Abrams came on board he had about half the time Colin originally had to work on the film and the Disney Exacutives wouldn’t budge on a release date(likely because their biggest competition was probably Cats).
All that into consideration I feel it could’ve easily been much worse.
23:44 how did Avatar possibly pass Avengers Endgame last year for a movie that was 12 years old? That movie came out in 2009 how did it possibly get MORE money in 2021?
Rereleases. Honestly, I find grossings to be arbitrary anyway. Mainly because a lot of the time, they don't adjust for inflation. Though this is a choice they make to hype up newer movies. Another reason is that people see a movie based on expectation. Saying this having seen and walked out on quite a few bad movies but a walkout still counts as a sale.
Re. Legends/EU it would have been better for them to take the approach Star Trek does - books and comics are one universe and TV/films are another. That way they could have continued the EU and told new stories at the same time.
A majority of the stories in Star Wars Legends are good though. So there were a lot more good Star Wars stories in Star Wars Legends than bad.

Is this a reupload?
Thank you! Someone else who likes the last Jedi
Wow I didn't know you were only 14 at the time. Now I feel super old. Not by much (I'm 23) but still.
I remember all of the memories of my whole 1st Grade class talking about Star Wars I don't remember if we watched the movie or not but we did have a lot of Star wars stuff like Star Wars masks and stuff I've never seen the Star Wars movie in 1st Grade but I was a huge fan of Darth Vader and I also did watch the Rise of Skywalker on Disney Plus on my brother's phone for May the 4th this year and let me tell you I didn't hate it but it was pretty boring.
I wouldn't necessarily go for making a fourth trilogy that continues Rey's story but rather stick to Rian Johnson's plan of a spin-off trilogy that focuses outside of the Skywalker Saga. A Rey story can be fit for its own animated series set before, during, or after the sequel trilogy
This is all a snow ball effect of The Last Jedi…it literally split the fanbase
You should review xenoblade series.
The problem with SOLO wasn't that they released it at the wrong time.
The problem with SOLO is that the movie was stupid and it sucked.
RIP star wars 1977-2014- even the novels the crystal star, children of the jedi and planet of twilight are way better than the force awakens
No, they aren’t better than Force Awakens
I am one of the biggest star wars fans out there but i will be honest i hated episode 7, 8 and 9 because it was mainly episode 4 ,5 and 6 because episode 7 is a mirror of 4... 8 is 5 in reverse also Luke exiled himself because his student destroyed the Jedi temple pretty much the same backstory as Yoda from episode 3 and then you have episode 9 which of course is a retelling of episode 6 with Palpatine being the end boss again and the Vader wannabe ends up being the one dead after Palpatine is dead again.
This is why i would of enjoyed it more if they used the books as the source material for 7, 8 and 9 instead of doing their own thing and retelling an old story in a new way and also Dorkly says it better about episode 7 with "6 Star Wars Characters Meet Their New Equivalents".
Here's what I would propose. Stop relying on legacy characters! The Sequel Trilogy, Solo, Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi have all gotten flack from the fanbase, and that's because of the way they handle the iconic characters from the original and prequel trilogies. Luke's character felt off in Last Jedi, Han got too much information that we didn't need to know, Boba Fett was made less cool, and Obi-Wan literally leaves Vader there, even though he said he would kill him!
Compare this to Rogue One, Andor, and The Mandalorian. These focus on new characters that Disney created, so fans aren't worried as to whether or not characters they love are ruined. And all three of those have been mostly positively received. In my opinion, a Old Republic film series would be great, or even a trilogy set decades into the future that focuses on new characters. I'm not saying you can't use legacy characters ever again, Luke was handled excellently in Mandalorian, and Vader was awesome in Rogue One, but what I am saying is that Disney needs to stop putting their names in the title of their film/series, and expect people to just like it.
When I watch the prequels I skipped through the fight scenes, everything else is boring
The problem with Disney from 2012-2017 is that they were full of themselves. They got really thought they can’t do any worse than George and his prequel trilogy. I enjoyed watching The Force Awakens as a movie when I first saw it, but now, I still personally think it is the worst and most overrated Star Wars to this day. I mean the Phantom Menace gets hate for “ruining” Darth Vader and yet no one complains that Han and Luke changes in TFA? Also as much as EA deserves the hate for l mishandling Star Wars, Disney deserved more flack since they were the ones that shutdown lucasarts and gave EA the exclusivity to begin with :P
Nah i fricking love solo
For me force awakens is good last jedi is my prob my 4th fav star wars movie rose of Skywalker can burn in hell Mandalorian is one of my favourite shows clone wars season 7 was awesome book of boba can burn in hell again obi wan was awesome and jedi fallen order is the best star wars game and one of my favourite games of all time
Han's regression is enough to make TFA just.. real bad. It burnt my enjoyment IN theater opening night. Leia's stagnation is just... I don't understand it.
As for Luke. Luke Skywalker faced off against the most evil men in the galaxy, combined responsible for billions of deaths and SOMEHOW saw the good in his father and redeemed him... and then he decides "for the briefest moment(bs)" that his nephew (an innocent man) deserves to die. Horse shit. That is NOT in character. That is worse than character regression, it's characteristics being changed to fit the needs of the plot. WHAT could have possibly happened in the last 30 years that made him so jaded that he would even consider that? NEXTLY, when characters go through changes THAT significant, it has to be SHOWN IN A STORY. Imagine if between episode III and IV Obi-Wan became a washed up drunk who didn't care about the Galaxy. His focus remained the same for 20 years. Because that's his character. Anything that happens off screen to characters is for plot convenience. It's not just bad writing, it's weak narrative.
The problem with Disney Star Wars?
Dude, you can compact that into one sentence..
Fan Entitled Adults watching it and thinking that their opinion becomes canon.
I’m of the opinion that TLJ is where everything went wrong for Star Wars, and not because of the 'its’s bad' argument. For the record I’m of the opinion that TLJ is bad.
The reason everything went wrong is because TLJ proved itself to be divisive. I’m positive that Disney thought they had a mega hit and loved film on their hand, but we’re prepared for a film that was hated or a miss. They got both however, and that lead to all the problems that Star Wars faced afterwards.
How do you follow up a franchise film where a full half of you target audience loved it and want that specific storyline to continue vs. the other half of your target audience who hated it and wanted it to be ignored so a better storyline could take its place?
First
I’m first not you
@@emirb3190 how when you replied to MY comment?
Last Jedi killed the franchise.
They killed the glorious star wars expanded universe for uninspired, lazy and disrespectful garbage movies.
Disney killed star wars, marvel and the comix book movie as a whole
Modern Disney Star Wars (exception of Mandalorian) has worse writing than the latest Sonic game. Which has been plagued for years for having horrible writing and plots. Let that sink in
The main problem with star wars is the fanbase
Bro covered the last Jedi and left out snoke?
I happen to like Rise of Skywalker. Not that it's a good movie. But when a movie is hilariously bad, it becomes enjoyable. And this movie is glorious trash.
Hard disagree, disney star wars deserves the hate, they scrapped the EU, gave use crap instead, then dare say there wasn't source material. All the while, most of the stuff fans like with disney have been ripped from the EU.
homie a whole shill
Sequel enjoyer, opinion discarded. How many dislikes are you at?
is it really that hard to just accept someone having a different opinion from yours?
@thizjustgotreal6993 Apparently to these people yes lol
The last Jedi was the best Disney era Star Wars movie. It’s really overhated
