- TalkTV’s Julia Hartley-Brewer has clashed with Shadow International Trade Secretary Nick Thomas-Symonds over whether a woman can have a penis.
It comes after protesters stormed a talk with feminist Kathleen Stock at the Oxford Union before one of them glued themselves to the floor.
Julia fumes: “Why won’t you answer my question?”
Nick replies: “If you go through the process of the Gender Recognition Act, you would become a woman.”

How is it even remotely a 'simple question'? You may have your own answer which you will never veer from, but that doesn't mean that it's right, or that there even is a right or wrong answer. It's a hugely complex issue. But there are human beings in the middle of it, and they should be treated with decency, not with some bland attempt at a 'gotcha' from a presenter who always looks like she's trying to do the crossword rather than actually listen to her guests.

For example Michael Jackson had facial reconstruction and bleached his skin. He may have looked like a white caucasian man. But he was in essence an African/American male because that's what he was born as.
The same applies to fully transitioned male/females.
They may have had their genitalia changed and their reproductive system may be neutered but it hasn't been changed. They may well be recognised by law as a female but not by nature.
Politicians have spent the last couple of years telling the public they have to respect the science.

Who cares if you don't know anyone that says this when you look at the studies they show that trans people who are accepted/ allowed to transition have much lower suicides than those who don't. Look up the Trevor project if you want actual science instead of the "I don't know anyone who says this" position.
I am trans and I cannot think of anything that society has not allowed me to do ! Except have children of course. Saying that trans people are being prejudiced against is false unless you seek to be prejudiced against. STOP shoving it in people's faces, is being trans ALL that you are in life, is it the only thing that defines you ? Can you not be defined by kindness, intelligence, humour or any other trait ? 'trans' is now simply a prefix and a political tool.
I love the way so many politicians refuse to answer that question. What are they actually so scared of? Do they really think most people think men who transition are actually women?

Fresh start. Bar anyone who has ever been in parliament from political involvement, and have 5 years with no government whatsoever. Let the civil service run the country on a "care and maintenance" basis, much as Belgium did a few years back when they were unable to elect a stable administration.

Never voted in my life, I’m 45, the reason being is because, in my voting life time, there has not been a single time that there has been a worthy person to vote for, they flip flop issues or blatantly bullshit about what they’re going to do once elected, or take power through party votes because the “ leader” quits, which has been the case over the last to many years.
