Here in Wales they’ve built Wind Farms on top of first class Anthracite. The UK is now a hot bed of low skilled, low payed jobs, we’ve had 25 years of “education education education” only to leave us having to import foreign workers because we don’t have the qualified people required.

We wouldn't need as much energy. There would be more rental properties and house prices would be more realistic. Waiting lists for doctors, dentists and hospital operations would plummet.
There would be less strain overall on our infrastructure.

Most of the UKs chemical and pharmaceutical industries rely on some extent on oil as a feedstock. Just because we stop burning it doesn’t mean we do not mean it anymore. The simplistic assessment of “no more oil” is silly in the extreme

I have no idea how solar power will work in the UK, I live in Greece, its very sunny,I have solar panels on my roof, and I have A/C heat pumps. During winter, the solar panels are not enough to provide hot water. The heat pumps are useless when the temp drops to below 8C.

Electricity generated by solar and wind have the lowest unit cost of any generation source, including nuclear coal gas etc.
In the UK however, our electricity companies have tied the unit price to gas generated electricity (the most expensive). Who let them do that? The conservatives.

I have always been a labour supporter but good lord it is depressing to hear the current crop comment on anything! Lisa is absolutely hopeless, dodges questions, makes ludicrous arguments, does not have her facts straight. She is typical of the shadow cabinet and I just can't have any confidence in anyone from Labour. I will not vote Conservative and I now cannot vote Labour so it will be other options for me this time. Labour had a golden opportunity to take power but they are just not credible.

“Levelling Up” isn’t doing anything of the sort! What their “levelling up” consists of is building a “hub” in the centre of every town to keep us all from having a reason to leave our 15 minute city/prisons! Need a dentist? Go to the hub! Yes, she did easily. It is clear to everyone that we need both fossil fuel and nuclear. The world works on a natural cycle that fortunately man has not been able to interfere with. Nuclear is not without it’s dangers either and the fall out from a reactor could be catastrophic to an island nation. Green is a scam imo. Thousands of years ago the world was warmer than it is today. The U.K. emits only 1% of the world’s emissions anyway whereas China 35% followed by the USA, and Russia so it makes no sense for the UK to cripple itself financially by going only green and so quickly. Tell China, the USA and Russia to go green and see how far you get. Labour believe in communism, open borders and are clueless. Tell me why are the banks and investors still lending millions for 100 year leases and mortgages and loans if the world is in imminent danger of burning ?

I heard this live and can’t believe Nandy believes what she spouts about energy. It’s so nonsensical, you can see she can’t quite remember what to say.
