- Four years later, over 300 testimonies, a billion rand spent, the state capture report was finally handed over to President Cyril Ramaphosa at the Union Buildings on Wednesday. The two-part report, made up of volumes five and six, is the culmination of the work of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Allegations of State Capture chaired by Chief Justice Raymond Zondo. The SABC, Waterkloof landing, Parliament's oversight role, and the role of the ANC are some of the new additions in the final volume. The Commission was tasked to investigate allegations of corruption and fraud in state organs. Lawyer Advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi joins us virtually.

Municipalities are the corrupt politicians cash cow. Where is the oversight? Why do we have Municipal Managers & Mayors & councils but no one is held to a standard or accountable for failing municipalities. Many cadres benefit from there being no water cause they own water tanks & trucks to transport them. The benefit from there being no electricity cause they own generators & inverters that they hire out to govt buildings & schools.
The TLB or Grader gets a punched tyre and it gets parked in the municipal yards then they wait for the next budget to buy another one, can you imagine,,,you can go to your municipality yard and tell me if I'm lying 🤣🤣🤣🤣

It was comforting to listen to a lawyer giving an opinion/analysis on a judicial or legal matters instead of having political analysts or even journalists giving an analysis on a matter they're not an expert of

I don't agree. This advocate is trying to be positive about this matter but at the same time he is ignorant of how ineffective all of the previous commissions have been. The TRC, Marikana, Arms deal all produced nothing. Why not raise that side. I am not against him...

What worries me is how ambiguous the law can be .I'm reminded of the law that adv. Mpofu quoted at the Pietermaritzburg high Court ,that a High Court can review a decision taken by any court.At least if there was at least subclause to say,with the exception of the concourt.

Mr. Ngcukaitobi as you correctly point it out the TRC commission was one mirror which we saw what we didn't like about ourselves but achieved zero. Arms deal another mirror that told us about how corrupt our esteemed leaders were, again, zero value to society at large. Marikana commission one more mirror to look at how leaders fail our people, yet again nothing came out of that.
Now, you sound so zealous that Zondo Commission has done something to help rehabilitate this country, are you serious? If the Judge chairing commission of inquiry can amend the deadline set by court like Advocate Ngcukaitobi is saying, what was the point of him going to court several times to seek for an extension of deadline?
No he said a judge in court can amend after a deadline has passed

We agree that the state capture report is not a conclusive case agsint the guilty. But it avails a prima face basis for commencement of prosecution
"Hope you become our chief justice in the future" Our justice system needs bright and sober minds which are not biased. If our justice system fails to solve all these corruption cases and state capture " then that would mean failure and collapse of the entire system and we will be deserted into an Anarchy state"

I have always been under the impression that Justice Zondo was appointed by former Chief Justice Moegoeng instead of Zuma,the former president.Moegoeng,did the appointment on the basis that President Zuma who was said to be conflicted was therefore stripped of that prerogative of appointing the the commission's chairperson.
I wonder which criterion was used to narrow down the matters to be investigated by the State Capture Commission.
