The State Capture Commission says former SABC Chief Operating Officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng and the former group CEO, Lulama Mokhobo, should be investigated for an irregular deal. The fifth and final report of the Inquiry into Corruption and Fraud in the public sector found that the two possibly contravene sections of the Public Finance Management Act when concluding an agreement between the SABC and the now-defunct Gupta-owned, The New Age newspaper, to do breakfast briefings. The public broadcaster entered into a deal with TNA in 2011 which required government departments or ministers to pay to appear on broadcasts that were aired on the SABC. The commission said the arrangement cost the SABC millions of rands and that should be recovered from the assets belonging to TNA or those held by members of the Gupta family. He's implicated. He's willing to speak to us. We're joined by the former COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng.

I used to look at this man on the surface until i watched him on MacG's podcast....this man is one of the most intelligent individuals who unfortunately are not eloquent in the so called "english".....He is an outstanding individual, his interviews don't have any dull moment from beginning till the end. He will make anyone eat a humble pie....approach him with caution and be very prepared. Very objective and progressive. But just like anyone he has his faults too as life dictates. A very straightforward man
A little rough around the edges but definitely tough as they come. He is animated and possibly excitable but unwavering in making his points. He can be viewed as condescending by some if you listen to some of his responses but he is unequivocal in making them. One thing he is not and I repeat is he not stupid. Left the journalist frustrated at times but she could not rebutt any of the statements he made, not one. Remember she is also at the SABC and so she will have first hand information on some of the issues discussed yet she even said in one instance 'yes I hear you but'.

You forget that many times journalists have their hands tied even before the interviews begin by being instructed NOT to ask and debate the really tough questions. People forget that the Zuma RET faction still has cadres deployed at all levels within SOE's ... they didn't just all up and disappear when Zuma was ousted.
@@barkvarkie_fpv8623 my friend this lady admitted to not fully knowing the PFMA. Go look at the interview again. She got told that incorrect sections and sub sections of the PFMA were used to make findings. That should have been her point of engagement but because she was found wanting on the document by a supposedly illiterate individual she had to retreat. He pushed her further by indicating that she does not, and by extension journalists read. Once you go and engage on any subject matter you prepare adequately for it to ensure that you are able to engage meaningfully and she just couldn't. No way around that. I had hoped for someone a bit more well researched to have engaged him to make the interview more interesting. All we got was a school session between a student and a teacher.
Hlaudi too much power, he's had south africa interest at heart. Educated or not, he's a born leader, Ramaphosa must learn from him how to make decisions.
