Thank you so much for this video. We found quite a bit of water in the trunk and could not find any reason for it. All seals are still like new We still can’t believe GM would cheap out on a few inches of hose and possible a $2 clamp on such a high end car. Thanks for finding the solution and saving us a lot of frustration.

I had finally found my leak and it was this very same thing....but why? other than sloppy fit, it popped out because angle of grommet turned side ways(almost horizontal). So make sure to check orientation of the grommet to make sure it is pointing upward towards angle of the respective hose that is going into it. I wanted to further investigate this leak and the trunk tube AFTER I had solved my problem and found your video. I will probably order 2 new grommets for each side since rubber wears out over time and either zip tie the hose connections for now or put a piece of shrink tubing on them. More importantly though is to make sure the grommet sits tight and does not rotate ( might have to remove it to clean mating area)Thanks for sharing!

I used heat shrink to hold them together, works pretty well

Take a shop vac or go to the car wash and use that vacuum. 🤫 Take a little bit of silicone, put around the tube insert ...But before you insert it, make sure you put something like Waterproof gorilla tape or just use some heat shrink....

I have the same problem with my 2011, that tube should’ve been 2 inch longer

Hmm, if my SS gets fixed and returned to me after my recent crash, I'm gonna check this first thing. I got smoked in the rear and the last thing I need is massive water intrusion into my trunk.

I have the same issue because I’m sure my subwoofers bump them out of place. I’m just gonna zip tie

I had a similar problem. 1 take a hose start a suction "siphon" the water out. get as much out as possible. after that get rags, wipe up as much water as possible. then there is a plug on the right side. unplug and blow out or let dry. then undo the gound wire take a soft grit sand paper, and clean/ expose new metal on the the terminals. you have to make sure your drain tubes are turned in the correct way so gavity will keep the tube in its correct place also ZIP TIES will save you life on this happining again. water is condotive so it may be a bricked batter as well but im not 100%.
