Hi everyone ,I made a mistake on the assembly of the suspension arms They are upside down, the pad is suppose to be on top , so don't do that when you build yours.
Andy's Hobby Headquarters, I think you should try something new. I think you should try oil dot filters and super detailing. I'm not trying to put you down or anything, it's just that lots of people think you should start trying some different things with your model kits.
Max W. Probably true but Andy is putting out a LOT of videos - different genres, painting, weathering, landscaping, accessories, you name it, and kind of limits the time spent on a project. You can't keep everyone happy and there are plenty of other channels for more advanced modelling. I'm just happy to have a guy who runs a hobby shop and still finds time to give back to the modelling community! Thanks Andy!
Small detail, Andy, we won't rag you on it! While I'm here, I just wanted to say that I wish everyone doing how-to vids would talk as quickly and clearly as you do. I've quit several because the presenter wouldn't stop umm-ing and uh-ing and refusing to edit down tedious procedures! So a big thumbs up there. Even if you do say "assessories." 8-)
Well, that makes me feel a LOT better, because I did exactly the same thing on my M31!! I am in good company!
I built the Takom / Tamiya Sherman Firefly. I found those bogies very fiddly and even lost one of the little arms, so I had to carve a replacement out of sprue.
Hey Andy! I have been watching your UA-cam tutorials for a few years now, and I have to say this is arguably my favorite build up and paint jobs you've done!
Wow, was in there two days ago and I only saw some pieces on it! You made great time! Had a wonderful time in your shop too!
Andy thankyou so much for your video's, I'm absolutely hooked!
I think you're far from a mediocre modeller, your skills just make what you achieve look too easy, that is not mediocre!
Cheers from Australia
Thanks for the warning about the suspension. I need all positive information I get 4 building each & every model. Once again thanks Andy.
Thanks for all the very informative videos on building scale models. Your my go to when I need instructions on how to build and paint models.
Have you built any 1/48 WWI biplanes? I'm looking for tips on how to do the doped linen look on the fuselage and wings.
Outstanding looking build. That has weathered very nicely as well.
Excellent build and tutorial. Fit and finish is always a challenge on Lee/Grant kits but Takom seems to have done a good job with really nice detail.
Nice work on the model. I have this kit in my stash with the intention of building it soon. Your video will be my guide as I have not built a Takom yet. Thanks and keep 'em coming!
Thanks for the content as always Andy, that kit turned out really nice. Really good job on the paint scheme.
Thanks Andy, 4 the advice in regards 2 the bogeys and tracks. The paint and weathering job is great, good 1.
Love your videos and what you do. If I had lived in that area, I would probably have stayed in your shop every Saturday.
Its so relaxing watching this while building something else :D
I like the unique paint scheme, very cool Andy.
it looks awesome!! i cant waith to se the diorama! keep up the good work!
Andy just found your channel could not stop watching very nice work your a bad ass keep them coming .
Thanks Andy 4 the warning about track on Takom M3 grant.I have a Takom M3 in my stash
Nice kit, you did a great job with her!
Hi Andy - just made this and had a quick scan through the comments so a few comments from my experience I don't see being made. 1. Great to watch your video for tips and a "look ahead" of the build superb hints and tips. 2. The instructions in the kit need magnifying glass to read in places. 3. In addition to the pads on the wheel mounting arms one needs to ensure the wishbone/bowed arms are right way round - difficult to see in instructions and on kit piece (B2). 4. I fitted the roof of the main compartment first then the gun housing (E37)just slid into place (so different order to your build). Thanks for the channel!
Nice Grant M3, Andy! I reckon a desertised Challenger would make a good British tank subject.
A very nice model and your build is very well too 👍👍👌👌
Awesome video and awesome model, loved it! And greetings from Canada
This so cool andy. Your dioramas are always amazing and realistic.take into consideration maybe kit bashing and costomizing your own robot/ vehicle. I'd like to see what you come up with.
Just another great video, thank you and much appreciation from Australia. Could you possibly to a snow diorama later?
Cnceltic14 Great idea! Hope he does it.
The tamiya T-72 is a great build, I recommend it.
Great job as always Andy !
Was hoping you'd painted up a Grant and sure enough there's one in the back catalogue! Doing my own Miniart kit now and umming and ahhing about the colour scheme. I know a lot were just plain light stone/sand colour but that's just a bit dull so looking at the more interesting options.
Nice work Andy! 👍
As always, a really excellent video
Looks great Andy.
looking good thare and one thing happy new year
sweet build keep them coming
Great build
Build a challenger 2 please 😅 the kit turn out very good btw. I always enjoy watching your videos
Happy new year
Great work as always! I was just wondering, can you make a video on how you use your airbrush, cleaning, equipment, techniques and so on?
Transmission cover= Final drive. Just a little info for ya. Love your videos.
beautiful, as always
Andy that's probably the best looking Grant I've seen. Not bad for a mediocre modeler LOL!
It's amazing.
God Damn it looks so awesome!
Love the camouflage on this one
HockeyTanker same here. Looks like the camo on the m3 Stuart he did.
Nice work.
My understanding is the tanks came from USA in OD and the British then applied the Sand camo over it...
Andy... instead of using 3 different paints for your Track color ...try Tamiya XF-9 " HULL RED " !! Works beautifully and you need not to mix anything. Nice time saver.
Looks great and a bril video as well
Hy Andy, good New Year.
Super! 5+ 👍
Well done.
Looking for a air paint sprayer, nothing to exspensive or cheap, please any ideas or inputs appreciated! Great video as always!!
Are you still considering doing a figure series?
Сделано отлично. В прочем как и всегда.
Love the tank great job and i have ah question i jusr got the tamiya m60 tank got any tips
Hi Andy, great video as always. I really enjoy your reviews, tips, and builds. Quick question though. I suspect the answer is in one of your previous videos but I've searched through them and been unable to find it. Who makes the rotating pedestal you've been using for quite some time now?
I was wondering if you have considered making a Ta154 Moskito, Me210/410,Hs129, or the ww2 German giant transport planes, where the nose section is seperate, each half is hinged outwoulds it has top turrets on the wings, not sure if it's a Me or Boom & boss? All good for dioramas and winter schemes.
What are the brand of clears that you use, gloss prior to decals and flat at the end?
The thing that I like about your vids is that you don’t need every after market accessory or scratch building skill to produce an outstanding model. Inspires me to get of my arse and have a go, thanks For that Andy.
Here I am wanting to build a tank woth working suspention and you glue it fixed lol
Only problem with fixing workable suspension on a diorama model is the base must then be flat.
I'd make up the base, place the unfinished model on it then dab some glue to fix the suspension arms. That way you avoid having a wheel or too off the ground.
Just makes it that bit more lifelike.
Superb
Great video andy! What did you use to make the turret aerial?
can you make the review on 1/200 HMS Hood what is back on your shelf?
and do i have to coat it with primer first before painting?
Wish I could do those camo patterns
Bonjour au usa. Bon travail
I right now buy grant.
Awesome
Hi Andy.
Are you planning on doing anymore modern armour like the British Challenger 2 or Warrior?
Hey andy just quick question : is it possible to paint model kit with brush (i don't have airbrush its expensive) and what is your tip for beginner in painting tank?
Acrylics, good brushes, proper thinning, and do not try to do one coat ! multiple coats. Check out this airfix video for tips. ua-cam.com/video/zDQGtAIlXuE/v-deo.html
Watch a few videos by Quick Kits. He does a great job without an airbrush. He also has some useful weathering tips.
I would like one of those t-shirts your wearing and showing in the back.
Hi Andy how was your Christmas??
This tank reminded me of the Bradley IFV.
Could you spray the rubber band tracks with a Varnish or coat?
Hi Andy. I think You should make a Tamiya KV-1C.
is there a dry pigments that i can buy by sets?
Do they have a kit for a BTR-80? That be cool
Trumpeter has a 1/72 scale, I 'think' Tamiya has a 1/35 scale one (or used to). Maybe that was Dragon?
What colorless varnish do you use?It is very important to me because when I use Humbroll or Vallejo I do not have such effects using oils ... Regards.
What is the different between that one and the m3 lee? Just the turret?
What do you mean with % in the weathering mix?
Hey Andy, thanks for the video, always a pleasure to watch :). Sooo, I have a question for you (and/or the community). A few days ago I tried to do some streaking using streaking grime and enamel thinner for highlighting purposes (just like you do in this video). Weird thing is that it just melted away the paint all the way down to the plastic. My model is painted with Tamiya paints and coated with TS-80. I used Revell enamel thinner. Could it be that it is too aggressive and I need to use some other product like odorless thinner? Or am I missing a crucial step? Thanks in advance!
that must be too agrresive I use a big bottle of oderless mineral spirits and it doesn't strip the finish
Thanks for your answer, Andy! I'll give that a try once my local art shop's open again. Happy Holidays!
NilsPlaysStuff Revell enamel thinner is really aggressive.
Andy where do I buy the "lazy suzie" you use?
Its interesting they allow the suspension to be fully functional but use static tracks, i presume that there are aftermarket track kits available that would allow fully functional suspension?
I too just built this very kit. I left my suspension movable and ordered the Bronco workable Grant tracks. As Andy pointed out the sprockets and Idlers don't have poly caps but I did choose to get the workable tracks to show off the moving suspension. I just got them the other day and haven't built them yet.
The swing arms on those Bogies are upside down.... 3:15
jrfi orn your profile picture is what I imagined your face looked like when you first saw that.
LOL....xactly. I couldn't unsee it.
Check out the 1942 Humphrey Bogart movie "Sahara", about some M3 tankers fighting off the Africa Korp from an oasis stronghold. Good flick.
22:36 nice ending
Man I always thought the grant/lee would be a weird tank to make but, any kit that is kinda cheep and easy, I got a new airbrush and want to test it on a cheaper kit, also preferably a tank
Mr.Andy do you can build T-55AM Takom 2041
6th and i am right now building the tamiya m1a1 abrams
If only you could find a Humphrey Bogart figure, you could do the oasis scene from the movie Sahara. I believe they used a Lee in the movie, but if you don't complain, neither will I.
How does this kit compare with the Tamiya Grant, by the way?
collect the tank - Light tank M3 Stuart. ??
Это Арни he's already done one in Africa colors
Sorry if I missed it but what colour did you use for this? Cheers
Can you make a churchill model please?
Hi Andy.... Nice build sir ... But one thing. The M3 might well have been used by us British in the Second World War ( we needed something fast 😁 ) but its not a British tank its an American design and build.
Nit picking I know but thanks for the video 😁😁😁
Tim Bix this version is technically a British design ( the turret ).
I think the tanks were shipped in OD and the tan painted in Egypt. So OD would have been the base.
Is there an option to build the US version?
you were wrong to mount the wheel arms. they are mounted in the opposite way
I think Miniart has issued a brand new M3 with interior.
Nice model, only the swing arms on the wheels are upside down
wow
What is your 3D printer making in the background?
Its a big "model" of T-Rex :)
Andy... great vids.
Your audio is always so low... you need a mic.
Hey about a M41 Walker Bulldog next?
