Hi everyone,
This is the building of the new Takom 1/35 king tiger with full interior
part 2.This is the Henschel turret with zimmerit. I have decided to break this build into 2 parts because of the size of this kit.

I remember when I was a kid back in the 1960s Model companies made aircraft kits with full interiors and had part of the skin with clear plastic. It would be sweet to have that technology available for kits like this one.
so far as I can see out of all the builders, your the only one actually building this tank. all others are criticizing it and doing kit reviews. wonderful word thus far. you just dive in....I love it.
You're such a patient person it shows in the video, this work needs a person like you that does not get frustrated easily with the minute details of such a complicated kit. Nice work.
It is certainly taking up a lot of time to build this kit and has a few minor headaches, definitely not a model for the the beginner! Many thanks for sharing this build Andy, it is a real challenge.
Thank you for watching
I've just ordered Takoms other King Tiger, the one without zimmerit, and I was lucky to find the book on the Super Tiger at a very low price, so I've ordered that one as well. Thanks for the tip!
I've been building models of all kinds since age 8. Planes, cars, ships, tanks and what have you. 72nd scale, 48th scale 32nd scale and one 16th scale. IMO the more detail the better. What I like to do is detail certain parts still on the sprue, makes for easier handling. With this tank you could display it together and still take advantage of all the interior detail work. Open the hatches and any other access panels. Easy enough to do with a little work and patience. The ammo racks I would have painted before assembling them, weathering each shell individually. The racks themselves I'd do after assembly. Building a 1/32 scale Me 109 I spent a whole day just on the engine. Superb detail for its time. I'm 63
Amazing kit, gotta get this one as it's my favorite tank of all time. I've built academys king really start to like this company more and more. They manufacture really cool kits :)
Hi Andy,
First of all, I really admire your work and videos here!
In this specific case, when I saw that the rear part is warped, I took off the box from the shelf to check if my copy has this issue as well. Well... mine was also warped but more badly than yours. The rear right and the base of coupola was several millimeters off shape. I have boiled a pot of water, put the piece in for 5-6 seconds and pressed it tight on the table for a minute. Luckily it worked like charm for the first try. Now it is nearly perfect and waiting for a future assembly project... ;)
Cheers, and keep on!
I can't wait to get this kit! Keep up the good work Andy!
Thank you
nice book if you not build king tiger be a good coffee table talk or read for your self Andy
So, how many tamiya kits could be made out of this one tiger?
Great work, but I think many of us will agree you've earned a break after this monster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck to all you guys that are going to assemble it. After looking at it I am having nightmares and don't think I will be doing it in this life time for this Sunday hobby modeler :)
Hi Andy, what a great hour and a half viewing, thanks for this. In my very humble opinion the whitewash detracted from the overall look of the model. So much detail deserved to be seen so I really appreciated how you displayed the model.
Thanks once again.
Hey, just want to say that you have made me bite the bullet and got me started on model building. World War 2 tanks in particular. Keep up the good work and continue making these excellent and informative videos.
Support all the way from a small town in the central-west of Scotland.
On the rear deck with its warped features. Use of a rubber band about the dry fitted parts helps make it a flat top. then remove the dry parts and paint them. Nice job even if you rushed the assembly. I take days building mine.
You are a machine! Plowing through this big build
Can't wait to get mine.
Muito trabalho.....! Está a ficar espectacular..parabéns !
Much work.....! It's getting spectacular ..congrats!
I would so love to see you build the meng m3a3 bradley with the full interior kit, your videos have helped me so much on my work with my M41 WALKER BULLDOG. You even gave me the idea to purchase bandais tie interceptor and paint it 181st style as you did. Your videos are perfect, the music is relaxing, you speak clearly without being annoying and talking too much. You show how to do things and you do it well. I wish i had stopped in your shop while i lived in phoenix but i made great friends there and will definitely visit sometime in the future, and ill be sure to stop in your shop and purchase some kits or paints. As an army veteran seeing that bradley would be incredible!
Cheers mate!
a beautiful looking kit, I'll get one when my hobbyshop stocks it. as always Andy, a very good kit review and build, cheers.
New to your channel and it’s been decades since I’ve modeled. You answered my question about clue and paint removal. The use of super glue is new to me, why use it.
Una gran maqueta, con un super detallado y por supuesto, gran trabajo el tuyo Andy
Thank you for watching
Hi Andy,Great video here, I really like this kit and its now on my buy list. The Super king book was reprinted as a soft cover & I picked up a copy for 29 pounds. I just checked the AFV shop and the hardcover has been reprinted as well - retailing for 65.00 pounds. Keep up the good work!
Wow this is a massive kit, awesome work!
What a Great Chanel ! Love your builds !! Have this one waiting for me with the Porsche turret ! Cant wait to start it ! Wooooot what a awesome way to display!
Unbelivable amount amount of work...Cudos !
excellent work, I am looking forward to building this kit. cheers
10:22 Hey Andy, You could build a forth level with the top of the turret. This build looks like a lot of planning. Nice job so far.
I just ordered this kit. WooHoo
Just ordered this kit....Can't wait to get started. Another great video by the way!
Awesome! That is some serious modeling commitment on your part!
I’m building this it’s an awesome kit but a monster soo many parts fantastic
Hi Andy,
I have just come back from a few days in New Zealand, and your channel was the first thing I looked at this morning, I think you are doing a great and inspirational job, I look froward to your next instalment.
Les
Les Thiele lì sa phà tien vie0
000 Thiele li sa pham 00
Seems like this kit has as much to assemble and paint as the Airfix 1/24 Typhoon. Looking forward to putting it together when my order comes in.
what a crazy build.
great video.....you are doing an outstanding job on the big KT.
Thank you Stevie
Would you consider weathering the inside a little? Chips and muddy foot prints etc?
i just got this kit for xmas, really looking forward to building it, the last (and first) full interior kit i built was Miniart's su122 1/35, and whilst its a great kit with a lot of detail, theres a lot of imperfections and gaps, but from your videos it seems like this kit wont be as problematic.
I was planning on getting metal tracks for this kit, but theyre like $65 and the track sag isnt even visible due to the side armour, so i dont think i will.
Beautiful job u have the best utube channel
Nice vid, great build. Looking forward to the finished article.
I just ordered my kit it should be here Fri 5/31/19 it looks like awesome kit
I don't envy you those shell racks every challenging from a painting point of view. good luck
They are going to be a challenge
Have you painted them yet? I’m on that step myself and any advice would be helpful! Arguably the most challenging part of this build!
Nice to hear a bit of Rossini
Great video Andy. Would love this kit but it might be beyond my skills at the moment. Will have to build up to it I think.
Hi Andy nice job.I find that the King Tiger looks more mean without the side skirts
Andy, is there a specific reason I never see you use washes in any of your videos? I feel that they add a tremendous amount of realistic contrast to my models, and really make the details pop.
I really don't like having to paint shells that are molded to the rack. I have to do a couple for Tamiya's m10 achilles in 48 and I keep putting it off because I don't know how to do it well. In the next part, could you please show what you discover to be the best way? Fortunately, miniart molds the shells separately for the t44.
oh wow Andy its looking awesome cnt wait keep up the great work
keep going Andy it's looking Awsome already . good job
Thank you Robert
Beautiful kit.
In the superking book, does it show if the circular vents on the engine deck have the grilles aligned with the rectangular vents or are they random? (do the circular grilles run perfectly horizontal and lateral to the tank, or no alignment)
I am working on and off on a Tiger kit with Zimmerit PASTE that you have to apply yourself with full interior, so I know the pain, althought this Takom kit has many more little parts than my Tiger kit. Just a question, are there 2 machine guns in the turret, or is the black attachment on the right side of the gun the optic for the gunner?
nevermind, I went back and stopped the video, and I saw that the left side of the gun assembly has the optic, I think I'm just tired XD
Cool!! lots of detail painting...LOVE IT! Welcome to the model world of building model cars. The same only different I guess. I like this tank. Might have to pick one up just for the details...where do I get one? Great video Andy! Really looking forward to the next one...
Thank you Mike
How much will it cost to build one of those kit? Including everything you need
Awesome job! You've got mad skills!
Thank you Richard
do the rear road wheels have a more narrow track than the front? The track seems to taper out wider gradually as you move towards the front. (track being tip to tip of outer road wheel).
Hey Andy. Love the videos, they are probably some of the best on UA-cam. Just a quick question, what colour do you use for the white interior? I have this kit but i am not using the Ammo paints as specified. Do you just use Tamiya plain white?
yes its tamiya white
Whats the music you use for background sound?great video, loved watching it..
You can Made a Cradle out of clear tube to help carry the load on the turret basket
QDC sometimes will put some bends in the mud guards for wear and tare.... Just to simulate a used tank
Hey Andy, nice video, but i have on question: what is with your train diorama?
Absolutely awesome work!
However, if I'm going to spend that amount of time building a tank, I'd better be able to go grocery shopping, plow my driveway and terrify bad drivers with it.
Have you looked at Plasmos videos on you tube he uses tiny magnets to hold things like your king tiger hull. you may wish to try this. By the way your king tiger is looking great.
You can make the roof of the upperpart seprly from the ader
This looks so good:) although im not the best at modelling mostly gluing everything in all that, so I am going to buy a COBI Königstiger as LEGO is really good but no tanks so I got the Tiger1 and I love it :)
Hi. Where can I get the book that you're showing. Seems very interesting. I live in Europe (Belgium) Thanks for the answer. Cheers.
Great job
Andy....Do you sell on ebay? I'm just getting back to building and your video's have been a big help..Thanks for posting them...
Great job Andy!
How do you find the kit overall? Is it hi- or mid- quality?
so far very nice
I suspect that it might show some trouble with the alignment along the way
So there ain't Part 3? I am watching this videos, because I am considering buying myself this kit, and I am curious about the final look :D
I'm building a King Tiger now.
Nice kit andy
Nice work Andy, what colour did you use for the white?
Still cheaper than Dragon! And it comes with an interior!!
I have not done a model kit since I was 14... I got one of these for Xmass... Having built motorcycles... this scares me!
Very good channel you got here! I love your videos! Keep up the good work. Greetings from Hungary ;)
Thank you for watching
Great videos. Is the third part available ? I'd like to see the tracks being built.
Found it. Great.
I'm trying to replace the track for my PantherV kit number 350565. It tore on me and can't locate another one. Thanks
Awesome video man! Lovin it.
Thank you for watching
Great work Andy :) as always ;)
What is the difference with the glue you use at 6:55 and the extra thin Tamiya?
I think he used super glue there
07:51 I would like to ask you about CA extender tips you are using - could you please recommend me what extender is best for use?
will you be doing a Meng build of their Tiger II as well?
Again a quality video
Thank you for watching
The Superking is stupid expensive if you can find it. I’ve been waiting for AFV Modeler to release their book on the Panzer IV in 1/16 but they still haven’t finished it after 23 issues of AFV Modeler. I’m sure it will be expensive too.😤
when will they be available to purchase to the public
wondering if you have this kit for sale Andy. If you do can i get a price please
this is crazy!!
don't forget replace cups on engine cover and driver/radio man hatchs plate.
looks great!
Nice, meticulous build. Although, thanks to the soundtrack, all I could think about is how our poor and humble narrator got sentenced to 14 years in staja number 84-F O_O
Nice work)
Where did you get the long slender nozzle for the CA glue?
I sell them
a shame. I cant order via your site coz I live in Holland / The Netherlands... when is it also available shipment for Holland?
lolbroh je kan t gwn in een modelbouwwinkel kopen
Exploded view from top to bottom would great.. :)
Hey andy, could you build some planes also?
what brand is your air brush gun ?
Hmm good stuff
Great job with the kit. But there is no reason for Takom to make it a billion parts. Just makes it more fragile and fiddly in areas that could have been molded as a single piece with the same level of detail.
I think the ammo rack may be on the wrong side, it should open inward. But i could be wrong
yeah they were just sitting there temporally
can you please do some 1:48 helis or something
