Good job on the M48 Magach 3.,Andy. It looks like a good kit.
Every video I wait for him to say " Valleyo's light sienna ". I don't know why it's so amusing to me.
26:10
disappointed he didn't say he primed it in Nato Black
You missed 21:30
I like how he pronounces "fictional" lol
I love the final color and the weathering. I always preferred the way the IDF took the search light off and mounted a second machine gun
So I walked into a hobby store yesterday and saw this kit at a good price but noticed it had been opened. Bought it anyway. Got home and no tracks! Thankfully you can get replacements from third-party sources. That added another $20 but so far the kit has great detail and everything fits easily.
Another fantastic looking build Andy and some great build and weathering tips. Cheers!
This is a good UA-camr because he knows history and he has great modeling skills
Great build Andy, really enjoyed it, thanks. Looks like another must buy kit for me. I really like the hull design for this M48 model. Dragon seems to have put some thought into thi skit.
ERAは、イスラエル、エジプトの戦いから工夫されつつ、イスラエルの技術の集大成の一つですね!戦車キット👍
awesome looking kit, great details, Dragon never fails on that even on older kits
highdarktemplar the old dragon kits were the best.
Great job and model. I want to see how you build the Israel Centurion Shot from AFV Club. My favorit tank . Its nice to see in good hands result.
Super kit and great job. Def buying this kit to add to the IDF collection. 😊
Despite it not being a World War kit, this build from you has ended up being my favorite so far. Phenomenal job on it; the weathering is perfect and the detail is so satisfying to look at and you've complimented that detail perfectly with your attention to the subtle wear-and-tear. Awesome job
Thats a realy good looking model. Lots of detail, reactive armor and what not
You should paint the buttstocks of the FN MAGs wood color.
I really enjoyed that build Andy, the Israeli tanks all have a rugged battle hardened look to them and I feel you've captured it perfectly. very well done 👌
I love this tank, both in War Thunder and in real life.
Thanks for the video and history lesson!! Love your videos, Andy!
Nice build. I'm not armour, but still love it...Soon, very soon...I will build one.
Before I watch, I like!
Excellent build!
The tank looks great Andy.
not only is it an M48 but its an M48A5 because it has the 105mm M68 gun, because all the M48s before the A5 had the 90mm T54 gun (except the M48A3 which had the 90mm M41 gun)
Terminator X I got one question is it a M48 Patton?
The Mysterious gamer it's an M48A5. So yes. it's a variant of the M48
Terminator X don't forget that it gets rid of the M1 commander's station, which was really overly complicated.

That Explosive Reactive Armor looks good !
Andy, love the videos, to cure you antenna breaking problem i use carbon fiber from my hobby store, its already black and near impossible to break. Cheers Milojko in Victoria BC
Looks great !!
All this talk about side pieces and rubbers has me blushing.
Wow, that's an impressive build! Love that color, and it seems you nailed it - I've heard lots of modelers saying how difficult it is to replicate. Great video, as always!
Love your videos Andy. They keeps me into my hobby :) Also great model and nice weathering. Im looking forward for your dioriama.
Im thinking about buying this kit, u helped me a lot Andy :) Great build, cheers!
This is so cool! thanks for showing us your process :D
Another great build as always, that diorama sounds great, maybe use that IDF half track in there as well, a sort of convoy on the move with some soldiers around the place.
Another great vid Andy, thanks!
Man that kit is fantastic too, definitely on my list of future builds now!
Wow looks great
Hi Andy,
A very nice build & subject, thanks
Mark
Thanks friend.... Best work!
Impressive. Nice job
Love your videos! I would really like to come buy some stuff at your shop!
Pegasus47 his shop is great, small but packed with good stuff!
Pegasus47 right!?!?!?!?
Andy... Great job. I watch a lot of modeling sites and guy ..you have the best ! Your intro's is good .. your music is good ...you speed up when its called for and your instructions are spot on. I have been modeling since I was 8...and i'm 69 now and still modeling. In fact I'm working on a Trumpeter 1/500 scale Nimitz right now.Your site is great..dont change a thing pal.
this is awesome work mr Andy, so weathering really DOES come in a bottle! Pre/post shading is much neglected in weathering tutorials, maybe because it is relatively easy and you have to plan it out while the model is still unpainted - but I can't think of a smoother, more natural looking weathering effect then the shading... awesome, gonna use it on my Hooben T55 when he gets here! I want my tank to look used but not "battlefield wreck" used, this plus a wash might be the only weathering i do to my beloved (re EXPENSIVE) prized tank -
Very good 👍
you should make an israeli armour diorama.
Another sweet build!
I like really thin phosphor-bronze wire for antennas; it’s nice and springy, and easy to cut to length with Xuron flush-cutting wire/rail cutters. You will have to drill a hole (#80 drill bit) about 1/8” deep in the antenna base, then super-glue the wire into the hole in the base; use accelerant, or give it a good 24 hrs. to set up before handling! I’ve found this to be far superior to stretching sprues with a lighter or candle flame.
Hi Andy yet another stunning build. I really do love Dragon kits for the detail, but for all the kits they produce they need to up their game on the instructions. All the best Dave.
I would agree with on the instructions...quite hard to follow at times.
Very nice! Any chance you will be doing Dragon 6856, the Su-76i?
I love it when you can't tell if the model is plastic or medal, and this is quite like that
Home run. Nice job, Andy.
Andy love your videos and builds. Theses videos are as inspirational to me, as was Shep Paine's & Francois Verlinden books way back in the seventies when i first got into military modelling. Though this build & paint detail was excellent, would just like to ask how you painted the running gear and especially how did you paint the black rubber on the wheels if as seems it was fixed in place.
Thanks again
Explain the chevron insignia on the IDF tank, i.e., Company designation and the Hebrew lettering, please.
Such a nice model :D
[19:40] you have a studio audience. I've wondered if you recorded your videos during business hours. You are one dedicated and disciplined guy putting out video after video. Great job!
you should do a ' "Best of" kits ' like best of 2014-2016 Military model kits. I know Gundam modelers usually have a "best of 2014," "best of 2012" etc.
Love this video, and you did a great job with the IDF colors!!!!
another great build Andy!
another awesome video!!! thanks Andy!
For me Super job !!!!. Me future and :-) to days i look it Magach 5, Dragon 3618. Super IDF vehicle :-).
My sort of vehicle. Very nice Andy
Of course I want to order some models
Good work fella , hope dragon keep adding to their Israeli range
another great video. thanks Andy :)
I wood lick to see him model a 113 in Vietnam
Hello Andy ! Good day to you from Limoges In France. Your vidéos are very professional. I never miss them. (Excuse me for my bad American ) Pascal
Thank you I appreciate your kind words
Great video! Since you've already built the Tamiya Panther ausf. D, do you have any advice on painting it? Also is it me or the dark yellow(xf-60 I think) is too dark to paint it the way Tamiya recommends?
Erik Mujica yeah xf-60 is took dark so I would advise Revells mat-16
I use some #800 grit to clean off my tracks. Not hard. Just enough to scratch it up.
Oh please do a diorama for the Magach.
a little suggestion since you have built alot of israeli tank i think you should make a playlist about it. just a suggestion from a fan hehe
great job
Nice job dude!!! 👏👏👏 make more videos
Ola this kit looks cool but like always dragon want to make à lot of version with same base and cause a lot of assembly issues like the rear of kit . Is it true for this one ? A gap is visible . Great job and if u can give an answer it will cool
Andy can you build a Magach 2 instead a Magach3?
GREAT JOB!!!! :)
I've been looking into tank modelling and thinking of starting quite soon. I've been watching your vids to know what to do. Do you or anyone else have advice on what tank/brand to start on first? Also, I'd like to see some damaged/destroyed models, that would be cool
TuAmigoM22Locust 1970s Tamiya kits are great for beginners, the best kit for a beginner from Tamiya would be their 1/35 Panzer 2 ausf F/G it's got great instructions, low part count, really cheap ( average 8 pounds ), good fit and pretty much in every single hobby shop.
dragon kits 😳
maybe it is a nice model, BUT the funny thing is (as the man say in the beginning) that it's a series of "50 years anniversary the six-day war" models from Dragon - and the model is a later version that didn't participate in the 1967 war, but rather in the 1982 Lebanon war, and the box art even depicts a column of tanks heading to Sultan Yaaqoub - that's Lebanon, where there was a battle that turned out not for the best to Israel, and there are few MIAs from that battle till today ! i hate misaccuracies like those..... :(
Andy i hope you hit 50 k subscribers really soon
Really nice build Andy!! What was build time, start to finish? Also, several spools of different sized fishing line, would last a loong time making antennas.
Dragon made a mistake. The reactive armour was first used during Operation Peace for Galilee, Lebanon 1982.
Great build. any chance you'll be doing the tamiya 1/35 pershing in the future?
Hey @Andy's Hobby Headquarters , can you build the Pz. Kpfw. VI (Porsche) ?
What do you guys use to glue down stuff after painting, for example tools or weapons???
What is he using to make the powder/dirt stick to the tracks? Is it just water?
Hi Andy, loving your IDF builds. Quick question, do you use Tamiya flat or clear prior to the weathering stages? Also, do you thin this before spraying as it seems quite thick?ThanksSteve
Hi Andy do you know if the Panther ausf. D photo etch will work on the Panther ausf. A from tamiya 1:35 scale armor?
0:00
People: Look at those tanks in the background
Me: GUM MACHINEEEEEEE!!!!!
Dennis Suijk i've watched over 10 times, barey realized the stack of star destroyers in the back
at 24:21 you are putting thinner on model, why isn't paint coming off? did you clear coat it first I dont understand as Im a novice and I'm trying to do these methods, I bought the products but am hesitant to use them to not screw up my paint
Someone at my local hobby store told me that they use women's makeup instead of pigments for weathering. would anyone have experience with this? Great video!
Great looking tank. I see Dragon still can't get their instruction right. This is an on going problem with their kits.
Sounds strange under this video, but would you kindly do more WH40k builds? Maybe Baneblade, or Vendetta, or some other armour from the grimm darknes of the far future)
Could you built a Leopard 2A6 at some point
I'm really hoping the M47 build is next
BEAUTIFUL!
- Where do I buy this kit?
are tank kits required to use cement or is superglue ok?
you can use superglue, BUT proper styrene cement is much better as it melts the plastic together, where superglue or CA glue as it's called just literally sticks the parts together ( as well as your fingers to the parts) but with a much more brittle bond
Мастерски ))) круто =)
Do some sort of modern T-72 or T-62 or T-55 from the middle east. Like the ones to take on ISIS head to head.
Jest haft to leave the armor off the tank was used and made history in the war.
Good Lord Dragon kits seem insanely over engineered
Sylan Rioran, yep. This one is under engineered by dragon standards.
POP!
nice kit Andy i wht it.joe
i love you!
What is the ratio for track paint and name of them??
What glue do you use becuase I am getting into modeling and I don't have a clue what materials to use to make these kind of models.
Tamiya thin cement
Andy's Hobby Headquarters Wow I wasn't expecting a reply for a couple of days but I got one very quick "tank" you and keep up the good modeling.
hey Andy. watching your videos for a while have ignited an urge to get a little bit into building models. what would you recommend as a painting method for someone who doesn't have access to a sprayer? would you recommend some nice paint brushes or is there another method?
riffler24
Hello there, I can't really speak from experience has I've only finished one 1/35 scale tank to date, however I do have experience hand painting a variety of models in 1/72 and 1/76. I've also painted a 1/16th scale railway carriage, overall I was satisfied with the results. You just need to pick the colour you want and then paint to a thickness that you like. It all depends on what you want from the model and what you think your capable of. Perhaps if you're a beginner it doesn't quite make sense to invest in an expensive airbrush just yet, though I do plan on getting one eventually. As for paintbrushes, Humbrol, they're a British company does a range of quite good flat and detail brushes as well as acrylic and enamel paints. Hope this helps.
Thin your paint to a milk like consistency and paint in thin layers as for paints I am quite fond of vallejo model color acrylics you which you can thin with water.
Kommander Rahnn he specifically asked for non-airbrush methods. how is your comment supposed to be helpful?
Kommander Rahnn so you are saying that all brush painted models look like shit? oh. you must be one of *those* modelers, who thinks everyone who can't match the same level of detail as the real thing is terrible and should give up.
Kommander Rahnn I'm capable of reading Shakespearean literature without difficulty, as well as modern texts, so I believe that is sufficient evidence to prove that I can read.
