If miosis leads to 4 haploid cells then why is only 1 ovum produced in ovaries during miosis ? Please answer.
Because other 3 haploid cells get degenerate and only will remain. So, 1 ovum will produce. But in case of males no one of haploid cell get degenerate because in reproduction million of sperms comes but only one will fuse with ovum. If only one sperm will produce as like in female's ovum then, there is very less chances of fusion. For increase the chances of fusion the all haploid cells produce sperms. *_Millions of sperms comes to fuse with ovum but only one sperm will fuse with ovum._*
