I remember this like it was yesterday ,what a show! i don,t think it will ever be topped, myself and my then girlfriend were 20, we are now 53 living in the west of Ireland,, married , Mortgaged, and still Happy! we have such fond Memories of that day, sitting atop the chipvan watching Paul McCartney and his late wife sing Hey jude, and of course who will ever forget the Finale! Pink Floyd,s sorrow on that night is still one of the highlights of my life, Sam Brown on Backing vocals,, i still have the ticket, 30 BANDS FOR 30 QUID! Y a won,t get that value today, Very happy memories of London in th 90,s i hope everyone that was there that day is well and happy in this crazy world we are living in now!
I've been trying to find this footage for ages. Robert is the gold standard for rock singing, the greatest front man of all time. Nobody even comes close to this vocal genius. The feeling, the phrasing, the control.....this man is a treasure. He's the one that everyone tries to emulate, but few can get close. He has given so much to all of us.
I remember seeing this and falling in love with the acoustic guitar - this performance prompted me to start learning to play for which I will be forever grateful.
Doug Boyle is absolute class! Such a terrific guitar player. Love his playing and hes a super cool chap too. He has jaw dropping ability but is very very humble. Great performance
What irritates me is that the camera man and the man in the videomixing board managed to make it impossible to see Doug Boyles left hand on the fingerboard...it is as if they tried to avoid it...the result is that it makes even more difficult to transcribe this beautiful piece of guitar accompaniment.
This song brings back memories for me...the time, the place, the state of mind...ahh, so much decadence has occurred since then. His current lyrics on such current songs as Tin Pan Alley really resonate with me...as they did then...Robert Plant is as relevant today as he was when he started in the 60's: the "Tall Cool One," the Mighty Rearranger"...."Percy"!
i remember i made my mom tape this on tv live.....i watched many times over but vhs xticted now lol......this was my fav from the concert and 2 more that i hope to find also...eric clapton's tear us apart n sun shine of your love....pro's in paradise this concert i glad u post
Thanks for posting this. I was at that concert and this song was one of the highlights for me. I've got an old VHS copy of the concert and Manic Nirvana on vinyl.

Were you there? It was one of the best days of my life.
Love how he just goes with the guitar slightly out....but drifts more and then they just thrash. That's what it's about.
