- This is taken from the documentary called ,,It might get loud" ,a very good documentary in my personal opinion. If this makes you want for more,go watch it,you won't regret it!
An Englishman, an Irishman and an American walk into a guitar shop....
This ain’t a contest people. It’s a genuine collaboration of different players all bringing something to the game.
Just bloody appreciate it.
I'm just happy to be in a universe where Jimmy Page exists
I feel that
Me too.
Dude!
same
We are blessed
Jimmy still has that God like aura that surrounds him, the man is a living legend.
He's cool AF
You can tell Jack is loving every second of jamming with Jimmy Page!
He maybe won’t get that opportunity again
And he's fucking lost.
@@ge2623 You mean musically lost?
@@blakejohnson7148 Yea.
@@ge2623 seems like you are fucking lost, it is obvious that nothing of this was made to compare their skills lol. All of you shitting on Jack that he is nothing when compared to Jimmy, that is just so stupid. Ofc Jimmy is a better guitarist, wow, happy now? Did you went to watch this to find out? I didn't. I watched it because i like both of them, and thats the point, because they are both popular but completely different
When I listen to this it's amazing how Bonzo's drums seem to be there but not. The drums were like a lead instrument playing along with Jimmy. Bonzo really was the greatest drummer residing within the greatest band.
They were all great at their craft! The best. And they could read each other like no band ever. They were the greatest. Still are!!
Bonzo Is Eternal......Like Thunder.
@@awsomeal100 shhhhh, you fool lol ✌️🙄💦
I often remark Bonham as one of the greats. I think many people don't put him in this category because he was essentially just making Jimmy sound better, but but those booming toms and his timing is so dead on.
yeah the drums on this track are insane, maybe up there with the best drum performances of all time.
Irish, British, and American - making beautiful music together.
Andrew Lark The Blues are a planetary language. The tone from the Edge is killer.
Pretty sure the edge is British
@@theccarbiter Nope, Irish
@@ethel554 No he was definitely born in the UK
@@theccarbiter Aye, but he's still Irish. Where your born has little 2 do with it.
We won't be having the tans claiming another one
Page looks like Bethoven
More like Dr. Michio Kaku
No, Bethoven looks like Jimmy Page...
He is Beethoven
I should imagine that Beethoven is flattered by this
Gareth Duncan Oh no, u regret that comment now! I love Page but come on...
1:15 who else hears Bonzo cutting in with the thunder? He'll always be with us.
Thx now im sad...
all this hate about certain guitar players. who is the greatest? I don't care. I enjoy the differences between them. they accept and appreciate each other. why can't we? when the great jimmy page plays with two "inferior" guys, why do the "music experts" judge? sure one doesn't have to like the edge or jack white or other players. every one has a different taste. but why the hate? this is a problem in our society. always bash about something and make others feel bad. enjoy the music.
word dog, word
There isnt a best everyone has there own playing style personally i like page the most but someone may like white or the edge more
Looks like all 3 were having fun!
Hadlacka Dangerous
That’s how Page does it. He says every guitar player is different. He appreciates them all. I’ve never heard him tear down another player. I can’t help but think they look like they’re a little intimidated by him though.
Totally agree.
Jimmy wins coolest old man ever award #thatJacketthough!!!
Agree! He looks like a combo of Einstein and Mozart! I'd put Keith Richards up there too, such a force when he walks in a room.
THEABstract Anomaly Bowie was head to head ...
Rock God's..rock....how they roll
it's so weird seeing the different styles of each guitar player has, simply mind blowing
and all fit together pretty well here too!
Have another look
@@exup18 Pipe down Dan.
page's tone is tops
I was just thinking the same thing.
I like the edges here the most. But I do like the high pitch, screaming sound White gets out of it too.
How can Jimmy be such cool
Jimmy Page is having so much fun...they all are! These clips of those three are epic!!!
They all demonstrate vastly different styles and tones.
I love it all. This is a beautiful clip.
Edge did a beautiful job here.
indeed
In my opinion the Edge was superfluous to this whole session.
@@bioux101 LOL, superfluous in what way? The guy is playing a few notes and creates a whole atmosphere and deep emotions. Page is playing a million notes and just create noise. Most overrated guitarist in the whole rock 'n roll history.
@@lonkylaine agreed, The Edge is overrated and basically, in a shit band. He didn't rewrite the blues with Since I've Been Loving You or write the only true Rock riff in DADGAD with Kashmir. What a god Page is.
@@bioux101 Page rewrite, exactly, plagiarist in chief.
Oh my god Jimmy Page never fails to be cool.
Awesome song, Seeing Jimmy Page and The Edge together,, Priceless,, I normally don't care for Jack White' s music,, but amazing job on this one
That was awesome...
interesting that they all use their slide on a different finger
The Edge is whispering to his guitar, Jack is flirting with his, and Jimmy Page is making love to it!
Jack is picking a fight with his guitar, and winning
More like The Edge's guitar is speaking a different language
Sometimes you get more with a whisper than with a screem. Sure Jimmy Page is great and influenced Jack White, but The Edge was part of the vanguard of music from the early to mid 80's that changed rock music forever and made blues influenced hard rock music old hat.
I think Jack is getting just a tiny bit kinky with his.
Perfect!
Edge is fantastic on this one
He's the only one actually creating something audible.
All three of them are brilliant.
i love the sound of the edge
it's like a fucking violin when he starts... unbeliveble!
Guitare infinie 👍 Edge Edge Edge
Sweet technical fills from Edge (0:41, 1:50, 2:26)
Jack feeling it
The Master driving
Awesome
The legend. Silver fox. Love you Jimmy page.
I loved this movie. They’re jamming so raw beautiful perfect nobody trying to out do the other ❤
I wish the Edge could have gone longer.
His little solos were so perfect
not a big fan of Edge but yeah his bits really complimented the song.
Are you kidding?
If anyone is out of their depth its the edge
@@brettr5547 Watch the Jeff Koons interview with Jimmy Page on UA-cam titled 'Jimmy Page on his spectacular life and career: Interviewed by Jeff Koons'. At 1:02:50 Page singles out the Edge's improvisation on this specific performance and heaps praise on him. Jimmy would have to be uninformed and you clued in for your point to hold.
@@brettr5547 looks like your in denial
Yeah 1:44 was incredible, with the riffing in the back. Felt like echos from a mountaintop and then Jack followed with th answer from across the valley on another peak. Meanwhile the riff powers along giving powerful energy pushing you along. Really elevated the experience.
Page and White together is stuff of legends! Especially in Blues and Rock Riffs.
i love at the end when Edge looks over at Jack as he plays the last lead, an he just smiles
Pure masterpiece... please live and play it forever.
I said it ones it never gets old if you're feeling low this will pick ⛏ you right back up.😊
This is cool...but all I hear is Bonham
I was tapping the drums the entire time.
All three of these guys were awesome!!! Edge was the most relaxed of the bunch and Jimmy rocked and Jack followed. It was amazing to see and hear and wished they would do it again. The idea rocks!!!
Most awesome. Jimmys the man
Oh My God!!!! Thanks gents for being friends. I’m having a overload of Joy right now!!!!
Amazing
No one’s guitar sounds like Page’s, could recognize that growl anywhere.
I enjoy watching these great guiar players jam. music should not be a competition!!
I love the nasty tone Jack gets.
Why all the hate for the Edge..? His softer style goes really well with the other's aggressive blues.
Dominic MacInnes I'll reply when not drinking whiskey lol
Yeah he is an effects driven guitarist. It is what he is famous for.
The Edge is a fantastic guitarist. Anyone knows how difficult is to find your own sound, your own style, (maybe this is more personal and flows). Every musician you hear during 5 seconds and you say: - Hey this is .... - Is for me a hero.
@@waltervazquezcolino6874 exactly. the edge was original and knew how to make interesting sounds with his guitar. even zoo station which is a single slide riff sounds awesome
I don’t find him to be an asset to this movie. At all.
I can definitely appreciate what Edge does on this movie. There's an art to using effects and echoes like he does. I also like Jack's minimalist style he's got the blues in his soul. And of course Jimmy Page is one of the most versatile guitar composers of all time. Page made commercially viable music in so many different styles. He made his peers of the 70s seem like one trick ponies
Jimmy is the Best. For ever!
So much respect for these guys. Jack White a awesome artist. The Edge are you kidding me. Beyond words. Jimmy Page a God.
Imagine how good an album with these three in it would be...
Absolutely, would put insomniacs all over the world to sleep.
This is an amazing jam, gives me chills down my spine
I really like how The Edge played on this
The Edge is not one of the most skilled guitarists, but he's tasteful and he knows what he's doing. That was great
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaah you think edge is not skilled?
@@brosephmcswag781 He's skilled and I've always loved U2. He plays bare bones with a certain Spartan and tough accessibility. Fits their music perfectly. I think he mean compared to Page he's not that skilled. A novice basically
@@brosephmcswag781 he didn't say that dopey, he said he's not the most skilled, which is absolutely true. The Edge is competant, as is Jack White, both good, but they are in the presence of God.
As far as artistic creativity and instrumental accomplishment go, I think White is orders of magnitude a greater guitarist than Evans, @@markhill9275. It's still kinda weird to compare musicians - especially from different eras, and with or without their bands around them.
Page? The second half of Zeppelin's existence, many of his live performances were compromised and sloppy. As a pure musician and composer, Page has been implausibly beautiful, inspiring, compelling, even fun... Jeez, the words almost fail the task! 🤷🏼♂️
@Assinine Comment i guess the name sums it up. Sloppy, go listen to what Joe Bonamassa says about God being sloppy. I think Joe would know. Definitely some of the live performances weren't as good as others, but there again the Septic Tanks revere Hendrix who was eternally sloppy if you like, but here's the thing, both had a way of slurring notes and entire chords, on purpose, they both pushed boundaries. As a totally amateur player, i find it moronic that so many, who will never be 1000th as good as God love to denigrate his playing. Me, i'm just glad that i grew up with all the magnificent artists from the 60's 70s and somewhat the 80's. Whatever was in the British drinking water during that time, I want some!'
Jimmy Page Happy birthday bro! One of the Guitar Gods...
The master and his apprentices. Jimmy Page is the king!
Edge has been very good to this. Bravo!😊
I think for a guitarist that never plays any blues he adapted pretty well to his two counter parts. He's not a blues player, nor should he be, he's created a new style of playing that allows for him to succeed and inspire a whole range other musicians. That is far more than any of us can ever say. So yes, I think he has just as much right to be in a guitar documentary with two great blues players.
I don’t think the edge created a whole new way to play guitar nor do I think he’s an amazing player but you’re right in that he’s inspired many to play and does deserve to be in the documentary. I always wonder though why they got two blues players and one that doesn’t play blues like it just kinda messes with the flow of it all to me.
100% correct.
@@theccarbiter hmm .. right !
@@theccarbiter (Hands to my head), Edge is a blue player. Every Album since Boy uses blues chord structures in many of the songs especially in Rattle and Hum Through How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, he plays in E key using the 1 chord, chord 4 in A and 5 in B. Please try to think as a musician before you comment and at least look at U2's songs and how Edge's Blues' chord progression adapts to their music.
lawfreefly using a standard 12 bar blues in a song does not make you a blues player
Jimmy is the deepest, Jack is the fastest, Edge is interesting. Awesome licks by all.
Jimmy Page can play way faster than Jack.
felipecatification Jimmy def can play a lot faster! Jack was just playing fast cause he was being the rhythm. Watching this just reminds me how incredible Jimmy Page he’s a damn wizard
Jimmy’s the fastest, the smoothest, the coolest, the wildest, had the best band, the best guitarist ever….other than that…he sucked.
Shush now.
Mmmm. Jack gift is that he can be so good with out been fast. Love the 3 of them
edge his vibe is so cool
Jimmy giving lessons. Basically that.
Its so fucking amazing how well these three completely different styles of playing go together. You really hear the individual style of each player and this clip is the perfect example why these three fellas created the best guitar doc of all time. 60/70s, 80/90s and the modern era
3 unique soloing styles.
Jimmy-Heavy Blues
Jack - Heavy Chops
The Edge - Heavy Melody
40 seconds into it and I am feeling no pain. A great guitar riff expanded upon by 2 fabulous musicians.
All I can say aout this whole getogether is f**** A****.. Awesome. Listen to it over and over again. What else to do with perfection !!!!!
I love what Jimmy does with his face when playing the guitar, really digging the groove
Three of the greatest songwriters of all time
The part at 2:37 was SUCH a Jack White inflection to a classic song! Absolutely love it. Its incredible how Edge and Jack add such depth and individuality :)
yyeeaahh... so true
@@ascent7 It reminds me of that video of The White Stripes performing Death Letter. Not sure if I can post the link here, but: ua-cam.com/video/1fM2qhG8mA4/v-deo.html. It's at about 4:52. (Not EXACTLY the same, but similar.)
bravo Edge, these are nice notes here, sound also. Very very nice..
That's definitely my favorite scene, look how cool are they jamming in different styles totally amazing
1:59 is when all their iconic sounds come out
Jimmy Page is a pornstar of rock n roll
Great way to say it
I was 34 yrs old when I decided to by a guitar and learn to play it . I went and watched Jeff Beck in concert and decided I have been on the sidelines long enough , wishing I could do something like that .I am now 39 and can play well enough to entertain myself and some of my more patient friends .I dont expect I will ever be Jeff Beck but I have fun . Its never too late .
You have inspired me with that comment
@@rmorton8281 never too late to learn !
@@Cincinnatus1869 I'm 32 and absolutely love music. Think I might buy a Strat and stick at it.
@@rmorton8281 that's exactly what I did. Got a deal on a good Strat and devoted myself to learning . I've since bought a Jay Turser bass ( with pickup from a Fender Jazz) and an Epi Les Paul Jr . I found I have some natural timing and rhythm and a pretty good ability to remember the notes. I've been at it for 12 years now and I rarely go a day without playing . The more I learn , the more I love it.
AWESOME my hubby is having so much fun love ya
2:23 really is a Greg allman moment. Yay. Edge.
At 2:40 the edge is like man!!!! that's amazing Jack !!!!
Perfect
Hail to the King !
Jimmy Page
2:26 when the edge starts that haunting slide, gets Jimmys attention. Cool moment.
I love that Jack can't help but put his own spin on things. Not a knock at all, I actually think it's awesome. He's standing in front of Guitar-God himself and playing his song and doing it his own way. Confidence
I love Jack! If you haven't, watch Dan Rathers Big Interview with Jack.He is a humble, super talented man. "It Might Get Loud" was a great idea. Guys like Jack & Dave Grohl give me hope for Rock/Blues music.
omg i wasnt enthusiastic about the Edge in that movie but In my time of dying his parts were the best! Im really surprised that everones dissing him on that video! People, this is great what he is doing. Jack and Page are just playing allover again what is on the studio version of that song and The Edge is improvising something new and fresh!
Jimmy Page and this song is why I play guitar
Three great guitar players riffing off of each other, taking turns and adding their own flavor to the music.
Edge - *smiles at the fact that Jack White's playing is so good*
God I love this !
I could watch this all year!
Just gets better and better. 😊
Master Page teaching two generations how to rock!!!!
I love it, they're all getting off, doing what they like best. Indeed..
great great performance, ...makes my heart melt.. thx so so much for this post
!!!!
I remember listening to this constantly when the doc was released, so glad I came back to it, Damn this is glorious!!!!!
Jimmy Page = best guitar player on the plant..period
always like Edges sound
That's it! I'm getting the Larry Carlton with P90's! Listen to Jimmy's tone! I'm just in love with P90's, they growl!
Every time this documentary comes on I watch it. I NEVER get tired of it!
I really think they put Edge in this doc because his approach to the guitar is completely different than the other two. I gained a new respect for him after watching the film. He has found a way to make those effects work into a style all his own which is unique from the other two. I'm glad Jimmy decided to this as I got a better perspective of his early years as a studio hack. And I definitely learned a lot about Jack's earlier years and his main influences.
Jimmy page is the coolest anything ever
I'd love to hear Page speak about that song, it's one of my favorites.
Jimmy Wizard Page 🎸🐉 is so cool! I Love him!
At the start, Jack is like:
'dare i make all my childhood dreams come true and solo over the top of Jimmy page?'
You can see how Jimmy is such a natural- God love Edge and Jack, but it just isnt the same- There is only 1 Jimmy page.
What a damn jam!
All Amazing. Wonderful. Remember this : It's easy to hear the edge's stuff, but it ain't easy to make it . He created lots of great songs.
So this is what three guitar wizards sound like.... I'm in heaven.
