Dude, your enthusiasm is infectious, I bet you're a riot to skate with. Late last year I was taking my nippers to the skate park several times a week, one day I thought sod it, 'how hard can it be?' and got myself a board. Well it turns out it's bloody hard but the fun is well worth the pain. Last week I braved the bowl drop in at Bartley, now I gotta figure out what the hell to do once I'm in! Your vids are really informative, keep em coming!🤘
Yes Jon, another cracking vid that fills me full of ‘yeah I can do that too’ if one day I get a board and go to the park!!! Killing it man keep keeping on. 🤙
I have a mini ramp spine with double coping at one my locals, never had the guts to try anything on it, but think I might give it a whirl the next time I visit now! Keep shredding and inspiring my man!
@@poundshopadamjones9654 I tried today, got a little lift off! but I want that knees tucked in tight & high lift :D I gotta keep practicing, but it was great to finally get in the air and land smoothly
@@nardmode great progress mate! I always find that giving tricks a good go gives you a feel for them and a good idea of what you should change to land it. You've got it man!
Nice one dude, I can recommend the stalled rock Fakie practice to get use to going over the top. The slam is fricken mental if you don’t commit enough, as is hanging up the front wheels 😂
Thank you for these videos. Watched this video a bunch of times and finally tried a transfer on a spine this past weekend. Got a pretty bad hipper on one of my attempts, but was able to make it over comfortably after a couple of tries. One of those tricks that is super scary but not really hard. That mental battle can be rough though. Cheers!
love it got a andy board with rails with the goal that I need to learn the spine on it, been a while since i tried and legs 90 percent better now, so this is perfect timing. will let you know how i get on, eepp shredding Jon
Awesome video! Just learned the spine transfer myself, and as a skater of a similar age I always appreciate your pointers and seeing the learning process. I’d love to see a video on doing an Ollie/fly out up and over the spine. Seen lots of good skaters make it look easy, but haven’t had any luck seeing any good videos on how to to do it. Not even sure if it has a name.
Great vid Jon, really wanted a double coping spine transfer video, hard to find 'em on youtube, ideal video for me and the boys!!! Cheers for this one Jon! If you ever learn to Blunt transfer on a double coping concrete, would love to see a video for that too!
Hey dude I have done them on the no coping, wooden spine with a nose grab, but failed miserably on the double coping. It’s gonna be the next mission I recon !!
Hey Jon This is one of your best videos yet! I like how you explain things on a simple level. That double coping can be tricky man.. the rock, rock to fakie, rock and roll, and disaster tricks are fun to do.!! Getting those dialed in like a phone number can take a while I can do a fakie how ever in am still working on rock and rolls... Would you ever Consider using a Bird or The Bird is what we used to call it , Its like a truck lapper that goes over the back truck to keep you from getting hung up.! Its a Old School thing.. your videos are cool - Have fun out there, and keep your feet on the Board! (Regular Foot)
Hey dude, many thanks for checking in. Believe it or not I sketched something out on a beer mat to that effect (the bird) thinking It was an obvious upgrade. Why had nobody thought of this?? Lol, but of course I found it was an old school thing invented years ago!! I have persevered and I'm now more confident with the technique. I would say rocking the front wheels back over coping is pretty much 100%. Rocking the back wheels in over coping is getting better. I like them to fully clear, but I've worked out how to save it if they catch. It was something I struggled with greatly for sure !!
Many thanks for tuning in dude! Yeah, I do a livestream every time we hit 1k more subscribers to welcome in the new crew. It’d be interesting to do a livestream skate thing? The problems are many from bandwidth through to crowds and the challenge of making the skating work in real life 😂 but worth thinking about for sure !! Many thanks for the feedback!
Hahaha we have this joke with my surfing pals since a long time ago. We adopted a nickname from an old football player with this profile: all heart and commitment, 0% talent 😂
Hey Jon, another great video!! Did you pick up a Welcome deck? How do you like it? I also noticed you got some Spitfire F4 OG Classics. I have been using them Conical Fulls but have been considering the OG Classics. How do you like them?
Hi David Eyes of the hawk 😂 good spot! Yeah loving the spitfires, a couple of duro harder at 99a for the concrete and a spot faster. The Vargas deck is great and a spot narrower at 8.8, I prefer the flight construction feel though, it’s wired going back to a 7 ply board??
Nice Jon !! This inspires me to proceed. Also Me and my crew are doing/learning spine tricks in adult lessons at SPU (Skatepark Utrecht - NL) RulahhRidazz. Peace out ✌🏽
Hey Jon, I’ve been trying these on my SurfSkate and with the huge wheels and risers it is really prone to hang ups. I can do them comfortably if I get low and put a hand down on top of the coping layback style, but I am terrified to commit standing up straight. Have you tried these on your surfskate? Any tips?
Crikey you are brave trying any of this on a surf skate?! Yeah, the risers and wheels would definitely make it more challenging. Also my surf skate has very little nose on it, which would add to the issue !!
Check out Kyle Anderson’s UA-cam channel. He just did a spine transfer video with a slightly different take. Jon I think you’ll like it. Thanks for the experience and the entertainment.
Cheers for this video Jon I finally got the courage to throw my corpse over the 4 foot spine at my local indoor park successfully after watching this🛹🛹👍👍
You are going to have to change your moto to " a middle age Man who learnt how to skate". Excelent!
Low key good at it now!

Many thanks for tuning in dude, kind words indeed.
I literally told my wife this morning," After work I'm going to x-fer the spine." Haha you rock m8 💀💀🍺💯

That chopped in half on the spine has gotta be a T-shirt 👍🏽👍🏽

I never thought about going backwards over the spine into a rock to fakie.
Never seen anybody do that, for that matter.
Will give this a try.

The "David Attenborough" of skateboarding - mastering the spine with gay abandon, willy-nilly. Love your videos!!!
Many thanks for tuning in dude !!
Such Great Videos! Keep em coming!
Brilliant! My local indoor park has a spine but I need to just nail my rock fakie first
My hero! This is so scary, we have an identical 4' concrete spine, but I always bail out instead of committing
Go for it Rob, you got it !!
Useful information. Thanks
That park looks banging mate
