I live in Ohio, equal distance from Kings Island and Cedar Point, and I can definitely say KI is different than CP, but in a good way. CP has the intense coasters, but KI has better theming and the lines are always shorter. I feel like I love them both, maybe CP a little more. Oh and Kentucky likes to claim the Reds as their own
100% could not agree with you more. KI is such an underappreciated park. i love the aesthetics of it and it is so clean and much MUCH easier to navigate than Cedar Point

As a Kentucky resident I can confirm this.
Years ago the last ride on the beast could beg for another ride. If everyone agreed and there was nobody else in line they would send you through the station for another time around. Our record was 3 rides without getting off

Welcome to Ohio! The amusement park capital of the world! Kings Island and Cedar Point are my home parks. As for the Beast the retracking has made it much smoother! Glad you enjoyed your time here.

Im here in ohio too. My dads uncle actually helped build the beast.
Just so you know in the future row 17 on the beast has always been glass smooth. I can't explain why but it has always been that way even pre-refurb.
The beast night ride is an experience
I 1 million percent agree with Orion it’s seriously looked so much down on by enthusiasts also easily the best ride there and my 3rd fav coaster in general and I have 130 credits
Kings Island is excellent. Front row Beast is fun times.
So the Beast is my personal favorite wooden coaster because there's not much else like it. The reasons that people don't like the Beast are all the reasons I love it. Common criticism is that it's boring, doesn't have airtime, and that it's rough. So first of all it was never that bad before the re-track and it's really smooth after the re-track. I really enjoy the ride because it is so unconventional and sure it doesn't have airtime but it's not trying to achieve that (I mean how many hills does it actually have? 3 maybe?) The strength of the beast is that it has one of.the best settings of any wooden coaster and that it is a terrain based ride that maintains its speed very well despite the trims. As for the boring argument, I've never thought that zooming through the woods, in and out of tunnels, at 65mph was boring and that double helix finale is the best element on any wooden coaster in my opinion and you call that boring? Clearly I love this coaster and nothing will probably be able to top it because it's so different than every other wooden coaster.
By the way I'm glad you enjoyed the Bat seeing as it's a very underappreciated coaster. Really hoping they make a substantial investment in it to keep it around but only time will tell. Also congrats on trying the skyline chili. Most people from out of town aren't the biggest fans.
Dude has tops notch vlogs and videos! Kings Iskand should just put a covering over the entire track of mystic Timbers so the whole ride is pitch black! Don’t go in the shed, oh wait, the whole ride is in the shed!

No the Beast isn't the best woodie but its hella fun at night. It's just a good coaster. Considering its park built without an outside manufacturer 👏👏. Yes its been altered slightly now with the retrack but still a in house ride.
Glad to see you guys enjoyed Ohio's other Cedar Fair park. We lucky IMO to have them both.

From a Cincinnati native, the skyline was probably too cheesy because you didn’t work it in, if you ever come back, mix it up! Then, eat it like a casserole. If it’s still too cheesy then you can remove some cheese. But it’s best enjoyed with all that cheese (and maybe some extra)!

Beast was prolly glass smooth for you guys because of the recent GG retrack job done prior to the 2022 season.
King's Island is definitely on my bucket list. Too bad SF Magic Mountain's Skytower isn't open and lit up like their Eifel Tower. It would look awesome at night.

Kings island is my home park I absolutely love it been going since I was a kid so many great years and memories try to come back for the haunt and Christmas stuff both great events love my park
Soo awesome to see you had a good time at my home park. I hope you were all able to have the chance to visit the water park. Btw Diamondback row 4 is the magic seat for airtime if you get the chance. Also Logan is a Boss and definitely adds to the environment of the park

Kings Island has been a special place for me for since I was 10. I wish I didn't live so far away from it. It's true that the attractions are top notch, but so are the operations and staff.
Staff “scoff” top notch “scoff scoff” buddy you don’t know the half of the h*ll hole as me and some other guys who worked there like to call it behind the scenes.

This is my second favorite Cedar Fair park just behind Cedar Point. The ride lineup is one of the best out there and it just has a great atmosphere as you walk around.

Cant wait man I taken my son's to 5 Six flags Parks in their bday's vacations in the summer and SFMM #1 by a mile but this summer we are going to Cedar Fair 5 theme parks in the east coast with the main one been #2 Cedar point but our first stop is Kings island so im excited but nervous due to we will be there Friday and Saturday so I feel it will be packed which sucks but I make sure we get on the beast at night for sure.

Like most parks in the U.S. filming on ride is strictly prohibited! Believe me, if it was allowed, I’d have hours of footage from the rides. Have fun!

I visited Kings Island last year and I loved it! As it stands right now Six Flags Magic Mountain, Cedar Point and Kings Island (not necessarily in that order) are my top three coaster parks. I found Kings Island to be very well rounded with something to do for everyone. It has one of the best kid areas I’ve ever seen with Planet Snoopy. Spoiler alert: the little Charlie Brown log ride is libel to get you absolutely soaked. I remember Diamondback being one of my favorite hypers ever. I literally felt like I was going to come out of my seat. I loved Orion too. It’s a great night ride as well. I hope you get to experience it. I was surprised at how good I thought Mystic Timbers is. It feels twice as fast as it is. And I thought the small dark ride segment at the end is a clever touch. How would you compare it with Ghostrider? Adventure Express was about the best mine train I’ve been on, though a little anti climatic. Gold Rusher at Magic Mountain is definitely blah compared to it. I must say I found all coasters and rides there enjoyable. I hope you get to experience others like Flight of Fear, Backlot Stunt Coaster, the Racer and Drop Tower. This is definitely a park I will go back to next chance I get.

Love Kings Island. My favorite amusement park since going a year ago. Did a similar trip as yours and your top wooden coaster list is about to be demolished. Mystic, Beast and Voyage ruined my old rankings, even though el toro is still top.

Yeah, it's kind of a bummer that most parks in the US don't allow on-ride filming, but the rules are there for a reason!
Hey, Drew, do you think it's possible that Knott's Berry Farm will ever figure out a way to fit a coaster like Diamondback in its lineup? I would be so thrilled if they did. The west coast desperately needs a B&M Hyper coaster.
Adventure Express is one of my favorite night rides! Granted I last rode it when it was themed to the Indiana Jones movies, but I remember it fondly!

Maybe I’m just jaded because I live here but I only ride Orion and Diamondback and leave. Magic Mountain felt like a park made on Roller Coaster tycoon. There’s a massive drop off after Diamondback Orion and Banshee. I find myself overwhelmed at Magic Mountain because there is so many coasters
It’s great to go there but not so great to work there trust me bro it’s a h*ll hole for employees I should know I worked here back in like 2017-2018. Sure it’s good pay for a starter job but there are so many other places better than this.
