Vernon is one of those innovative guitarists. He plays from his heart and not so much from his head.
the most under-rated band of all time? Vernon Reid the modern day version of jimi hendrix. Doug Wimbish who is in his own area code in bass playing. Corey Glover who goes from motown r&b crooner to a heavy metal screamer in a heartbeat, and the eight wonder of the world Will calhoun. yeah this is the greatest band from the past 25 years in rock.
A fucking men! Especially regarding Vernon and Corey. His Heavy Metal screams are fucking monolithic. He's better than most metal singers, to the point where his run of Painkiller with Judas Priestess blew the Metal God out of the water
I don’t know man they could be the most underrated but out of Janes addiction, extreme, Mudhoney, Stone roses
@@chuckenmcnuggets4464 Do any of those bands have a song that is more revolent 34 years after it's release then what Living Colour has with Cult of Personality?
@@StaticYonder Corey's Vocals are better today then when they started. Name another singer who's voice has aged and got deeper and more bad ass. Dio is the closest I can think of, or Mike Patton today.
underrated for their time, but this shows they haven't stood the test of time. this sounds like shit, good song or not.
Such an incredible band. In terms of musicianship, vocals, songwriting ability, I put them up there with any of the greats. I’ve long admired them, and still do.
Corey Glover putting out the soul!!
Cory can do what ever he wants with a voice like that.. he is equally at home in the blues or Jazz, soul... perhaps one of the finest male voices out there.
It's crazy how his voice actually got better with age.
Living Colour as Extreme are two of the most greatest bands of all time, and both the same level of under-ratedness
Hope you get to see them together this summer! (Living Colour is opening for Extreme!)
One of the greatest songs I’ve ever heard
That's about as LIVE as you can get!!
When they're gone maybe the rest of the world will miss em. Vernon has carried Jimi's spirit more than anyone else...,and Jimi hasn't a patch on him!!
" Sing it Corey!".
Love from Ireland.
Great song
Great band
Amazing Living Colour
An amazing band. I hope I get to see them live before I die.
Song always brings a tear to my eye. Never saw this video before. It's great.
These guys are just so cool.
That voice. My God, that voice.
This band has so much talent in it, bass guitar drummer and singer!! Total package!!!!
Like the volume swells!
Great, now this song is inexorably stuck in my head for the next few days ...
These guys rock!.. great band 🤘❤️
I LOVE this song. It happened in my town too….
Gentrification is real.
Living Colour don't need to prove or show anything to anyone, just be themselves and that's more than anyone can wish for. These guys deserve a place in music history!!!
What a great song, great lyrics, so much emotion, music at it's best.
One of the bands ever, a smooth wall of sound!
Technical, tight and rock!
Packed like a suitcase.....tons of colors in this tune. Friggin awesome !
Saw these guys open for the Stones in Steel Wheels Tour...
Loudest band I've ever heard...
Even more powerful live.
He can certainly belt out the tunes! What a range.
THE BEST BAND OF ALL TÌMES !!!
should of been one of the greatest bands ever so sad they didnt reach the highs they should of
VERNON REID = HAMER GOODNESS !!!!!
This makes me miss 24-7 Spyz...
First LC track I ever heard, first chord progression I can remember and still an utter classic.
Saw them live in Rochester, NY in 1991. Great band.
I've been saying that since "Vivid"
Yes, sing it Mr. Glover!!
THis band had a metal groove that scared the shit out of all the white metal bands of the 1980's/90's.
Corey in his future, present past.
Wonder what Jimmy Hendrix would say about this band about Mr Vernon Ried who simply owns his guitar solo work I'll stay on topic but I can't help give a mention of The Time with amazing guitar work from Jesse Johnson . Fishbone and more. Living Colour is still going strong, and still sounding good.
Some powerful stuff
🇧🇷👏👏👏 Espetacular!!!👏👏👏
People forgot about Mr. Reid!
Goosebumps...
I love this song so much. :)
👏🏻❤️👏🏻
He-Man said he had the power. Well, so do Glover and Reid!
& Calhoun & Wimbish
WOw. Awesome.
Cannot argue on this one :)
muito bom mesmo! eles são sim! em termos de banda simplesmente The Best! Glover's hair was cool there!!! goood
5:03 the bass went down to the lowest notes possible. Amazing...
Incredible
God, these guys are so good. I've always hard a hard time following Vernon's 64th note leads, but that's me. Check Corey at 4:55 channeling Prince. This guys are as good as it gets. As good as it gets. Corey- let your hair grow bro, you are way more handsome than Cee Lo...
Gloriuxxx
Joder estos tios son la ostia. Cuanto mas los escucho mas me gustan.
Wow! 2021
Superb masterpiece genius everything else.!!!!!! O shit.

👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾✊🏾🔥🔥🔥👌🏾🤘🏾
Foda!
I love that black people have come to show they break down barriers and stand strong through it all even through their voices and music.God bless them.I love Living Color
American blacks invented rock and roll, no barriers were broken here. Just some brothers rocking the hell out!
@@RickyPollo Yeah you are right Little Richard set the pace
@@RickyPollo And others as well
@@lowellnickell5726 Chuck B, that dirty old man!
@@RickyPollo oh yeah Chuck Berry
.... Vernon Reid... Is the Shit.. 👊.... Sorry just my love for this band, which everyone thought they were Underated... Sound track of my life... #blessed....
These guys were matchless in rock since the very first day...they were just too much musical for the scene...they raised a lot of envy...that's why the industry killed their career...they would have been much bigger
in the states we'd have torn the roof off the bldg just from energy
@joekiddent hahaha no dude its Montreux, Switzerland not Montreal, Canada........
Was that a gig with loads of bands appearing on that stage? cos that aint like any crowd I've ever seen at any Living Colour gig I've been to
The bass at 5:03. Really man?
wut'z wrong with da people in da crowd ? they all act like living statuez...
despite that: awesum version of an awesum song ... huge thanx !!!
You what would be really fun?...have Tom Morello join them on stage. I think I could hardly stand it.
Holy shit did you hear that scream just before the rest of the band joins in??
Yes, they are black, and they rock. Get over it. Shouldn't be an example.
werd
Sounds messy
Black hate on black!
I like Vernon Reid riffs and musical ideas, but his guitar tone was always awful
I always thought it fit the band perfectly.
Has beens - song has ignorant lyrics - guitar sounds like crap ~
I saw you on another video. You gonna explain yourself or just keep saying the same dumbass shit with no explanation? Because that's ignorant, homie.
