- Remote Control Excavation Train With One Man Crew, BIG Trains With DPUs & Norfolk Southern Trains Using CSX Tracks. Train Goes Through Railroad Interchange & Exits CSX Tracks To Get Back On Norfolk Southern Tracks. DPUs Working Hard And Putting Out The Heat. These Trains Are In Ohio On Ex Baltimore And Ohio Railroad Tracks.
The first train is a HUGE CSX mixed freight heading northbound on the Toledo Sub. This train has a lot of boxcars with all kinds of graffiti. These trains are in Hamilton, Ohio just north of Cincinnati. It was so hot that I had to take off my shirt and wear a wife beater. It was in the 90s once again.
The second train is a CSX manifest with 2 locomotives on the front. This train is northbound also. Right after this train passed we see a southbound train at the same railroad crossing in Hamilton. This is a Georgetown Rail Equipment ( GREX ) self propelled slot ( SPS ) maintenance of way train. It has a track hoe on it and requires only one person to operate. Wireless control allows the person operating the track hoe to also move the train. This saves money by not needing an engineer and conductor. It also saves time by not having to wait for a crew to show up. I got this same train just two days prior in Muncie Indiana.
The next train is Norfolk Southern manifest train with a DPU. This train is seen exiting the CSX line and entering NS tracks where it will be considered eastbound using the New Castle Sub. This train was a giant! I could feel the heat from the hard working DPU at the rear.
The last train is a good CSX auto racks train heading northbound. I was told it was an intermodal train approaching but it was an auto racks train. Lol. Don't miss the pets and the slide show that comes from the video. Thanks for supporting my channel!
Filmed Friday, August 25, 2023 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!

5'41" , thanks for the DPU CSX#5222, I'm not surprised you can feel the heat, even when its moving. ( Hamilton, OH, 8/23 )
Nice video...likes the 3rd train...i used to haul construction equipment on low boy trailers.pretty great info on that train..busy set of tracks there...thanks
Three great trains, 2 had wallboard from New Brunswick, two cars from Saint John.

Thank you for posting. It has helped me have a better day
Trains. Trains. And MORE TRAINS! But no dogs or cats....🤔 LoL
Great video JT! ❤😊😊😊😊😊
love seeing the SD70M's still leading a consist.
Remember that station from another video Brian . Just looked in for my daily visit .
Nice catches 🇬🇧
some of those taggers are really talented artists and they give their work to the world for free...that's pretty cool
I'm thinking a "live action" docudrama titled "Railroad Bridges Crossing the Great Miami River" has potential, JT. Headwaters all the way down to the Ohio River.
As always, top quality train videos. Always wanted to be an Engineer, was a fool for not following my dreams. A shame alcohol consumed my early years.
@user-su2bq9db2u, I too wanted to be an engineer but I ended up working in civil engineering.
Sounds good, however with the way some RR's treat their employees with no time off, poor health benefits and being fired from calling in sick...?
Never give up
That's awesome train with excavator, hey is that my friend greg😢 Buckeye freight railing the one I hear or is just my imagination?
We are under a tropical storm warning as a major category 3 hurricane approaches Tampa Bay and northern Florida!! It's In the Gulf of Mexico right now actually. Say some prays for parts Florida if you want too. I love the NS trains and your pets too. See you later in the next railfan video. Have fun with Scott aka 1960 gambit SD70ah and other train buffs in West Virginia!!
Stay Safe
Sorry to hear that. I sure hope everything works out 😮
Nice Video
Thanks
If all the railroad cars could talk. Where they been.
Good Video JT

Weird is good, Señor Jaws. Y B normal? Well, at least some of the time. I'd also add... , but that may not apply in your case. However, it's the thought and sense of freedom that counts and is important. Gracias por tu video, RT sends, Puebla, México... Good stuff !!!
You got your "runner" at 16:00, well, more like a walker! Another great JT vid! At 17:40 was that a MOW pickup truck? Sure looked like it.
Good morning jaw tooth how are you
Railroad hunting in America is my dream
Good video Jawtooth
Thanks!
What happen to the caboose. They seem to be disappearing more and more thru the years. Can you find out
Brian, really nice live action. I would love to see that old train station repurposed as a restaurant. It's a shame to see them neglected. Always love to see the DPUs working. As always appreciate your awesome channel! 😊
That would be cool! Thanks for watching 😊
More great trains today. Thanks, Jaw Tooth.
Amazing videos jaw tooth keep up the good work
@30:53 The guy must be saying that he is straight!!😅😅😅
Probably based on GP frames, probably with a more modern power pack
No runners but a three pointer.
Did your daughter win her soccer game
I saw that autorack stopped up near trenton on Friday.
I love trains jaw tooth so are you in Kentucky
Greetings to all the JT fans!!
Thank you !
Thanks
Greetings from the UK! ❤😊

@@Carolb66 Big wave from eastern Maine!!
Fantastic trains, so beautiful video my friend! I liked it! Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
Thank you very much!
Merci beaucoup pour cette très belle vidéo ! 👍🙏
I notice that boxcars have changed design somewhat since the 50's and 60's.
I’ve never been an auto rack train before, I live in VA on the RF&P and we never get auto rack cars here because there too tall. But my new car is getting shipped by train here by NS
ha! the cat is finally a dog toy.
Man, that 1st one was loooooooooooooooong and noisy
Great video as usual. I was out yesterday on the N/S Line and wondered why it was so slow. Found out later they had trouble with their computerized system or something.
I heard about that 😮
Why is it always truck frames? Are car frames not also shipped by rail i wonder?
Cars for a long time now are of unitized construction..they don't have a separate frame..at least not to the extent pickups do.
The graffiti artist who paint the railroad stock, must have a lot of money because spray cans aren’t cheap anymore
It would be nice if the graffiti made sense to the rest of us
Great catches and awesome video
Hamilton never disappoints . I like the view when you back off a little, helps put the trains in perspective, Great double catch on the Grex train. Great bookend power set with the trailing NS EOT DPU. Absolutely first rate, liked it much. Thanks JT!
Glad you enjoyed it😊
jaw tooth can u tell me why almost every locomotive has to blow that horn by every crossway at so much, likely the trains are so big you can even go around them. if i'm seeing such a loco like this i'm going to sit man please explane greatz your friend from holland rotterdam
if we had horn in the netherlands like this we all escape from the nooise hahahahaha
oh trhuthntime i see you count the same first hahaha
Howdy brother from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Pease ? Just looked up that word, wonder if that rail car is full of Peas ?
All that work to misspell "PEACE" I'm afraid!!
I used to work in a cut shop. We would make parts out of them big steel rolls after they were flattened out and turned into steel plates. The point is it doesn't really matter if they rusted or not because when they go into the press, they're rolled back out into plates. They are heated up to several hundred degrees and all the rust will disappear.
What are those cars that have a frame down. The middle designed to carry?
lumber
The first train was a long one. The DPU was working so so hard! It sounded absolutely awesome! Great catch JT! ❤😊😊😊😊
Yes! Thank you!😊

Yes it’s nickname is Hamil-tucky and there is also Middle-Tucky (Middletown). Those nicknames have been associated with those two neighboring cities for a long time. Love your video’s !
Superb video Jaw Tooth!
I count 10 truck frames/ stack 40/car good catch on that excavator thanks for the explanation JT
I often wonder if graphitie on auto-racks damages the cars inside!!!??
With great full thanks for great videos Mr Cool! I do like the big GEs working hard, we have the Class 70s over here in the UK but I don’t see them very often.
Hence why I find your videos so entertaining.
Very cool! Thanks for watching 😊
Who is more powerful
Is it a coal burning steam train
Or a gas guzzling diesel train
The Reading and Northern 2102 steam locomotive is 5500 hp. So I'll go with the coal.
Hey JT I think you should name that second location RUNNERS CROSSING👍👍
Since that excavator train is for track service, it doesn't pay attention to the track signals? Cool vid, as usual.
Good Video 📹 👍 Jaw Tooth 👍 📹 😊, you and 1960gambit are the very best 👌 👍 😊!!!!
Jawtooth, why do crossing signals in Hamilton seem to stopwhile trains are still crossing.
Should head over to the other side of the river sometime and try to catch one on the Indy Sub, also try to catch one on the Middletown Sub.
Great video brother
Nice freight trains! Thanks so much Brian for sharing!
All of the old boarded up buildings are still there, is there a chance they will be removed or torn down?
It would be cool if you could add a rail fanning stop in East Palestine, Ohio. It would be nice to see an updated video of the town.
That Mohawk Fine Papers building would sure make a nice railfan hangout.
Awesome Action Jaw Tooth! Love the GREX MoW Train, no runners today!
By the way, I was also wondering if I could use the NS DPU clip in a documentary? It is about the Springfield OH derailment, I am explaining what DPUs are to some viewers! I will be sure to give credit or do anything you want me to add if you allow, Thank you!
Great video son....sure wish they'd get busy on that depot...
Looks like musical cars..all empties and old. Taking cars from 1 yard to another.
💕💗💞💖😁 Great video JT, friend amazing catches filming perfect always love your fur babies I enjoyed watching stay safe and healthy ♥️🥰❤❤❤❤
29'38" that graffiti on that autorack pops up really often "SILENT ILLEGAL ACTION" ( L to R ) 2 track crossing with blue concrete blocks 🚫 😉 ( Hamilton, OH 8/23 )😮
Before the GREX SPS trains we had the SLOT trains working for us and we had the Brandt Roadrailer or work train power drag it all over, I personally think the SPS is a better setup than the Herzog MPM, the SPS have a continuous articulated floor versus the individual well style cars of the MPM.
Strange looking train,nice catch.😊😊😊😊.
Hey JT I had a feeling you lived pretty close after seeing your footage of Glendale train stop.i really enjoy your videos quite a bit. I'm knew to this rail fan. I live in the northern most part of Hamilton county. I used to deliver mail in Glendale. I have a work buddy that lives in Hamilton. Would it be possible to pick your brain about getting started on chasing trains? My name is Ron I delivered mail in Glendale for 18 years. I would appreciate any help, thanks JT
.
Interesting video, as usual, but a note about graffiti seen herein - a spray paint can, in the hand of a craftsman, is a marvelous tool, but in the hands of a graffiti vandal, aka an anti-social idiot, it is an instrument of destruction that reflects the prevailing social decadence. 2023/08/30. Ontario, Canada.
Great catch great video thanks jaw tooth enjoyed being in Hamilton
Thank You Jaw Tooth, I guess I missed the train but 11 months later I caught it! Kool Son
Hamilton never disappoints! Thanks for braving the heat and thanks for the video! Roll on
Any time!
Jaw Tooth just to let you know everyday I look forward in watching your videos, They bring me so much comfort and enjoyment. There were times I'll sit at home and watch all your videos for hours. I have my computer hooked to my TV AND tv is connected to my stereo so it sounds like I am there. Please make them even longer so that way I do not have to keep jumping up to go to the next video LOL. And the areas you pick to record makes me day dream of being there instead of being in this dreadful city I live in
Hamilton used to have paper factories along the railroad. They had a pungent smell?
@ 7:34 was a Southern Pacific. I take it that they're no longer in the RR business? Never heard of them.
Wow 👌 👏 don't recall seeing that horn was loud 😳 great big train today another great one
We need cameras that will catch the license plate numbers of vehicles that run through crossing gates.
What are the plans for the station buildings in Hamilton?
Cool video Jaw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!))))))))))))))
clone str8 (stright)... but what it means is beyond me also
It seems like the longest trains go through Hamilton! Nice Video!
Enjoyed the video. It was cool seeing the NS take the wye
Lot of train action, some very long trains, thanks again JT.😇👍👌
also the coupling of your train cars over there muts beter then the dutch, here we have 2 outrigger kissing each but you have a pulling arm
