Any Korn fan cannot deny that an album with their original lineup would be kick ass even though it looks like it may never come to fruition. No offense to Ray, just as a Korn fan from the beginning I would love to hear Korn with David again!

@@wurdofwizdumb1928 - Fellow drummer here. I much prefer David. The songs were a lot groovier with him behind the kit. Ray is definitely better in terms of technical ability but David's style was a much better fit for the band in my opinion.
agree i stopped really caring much for them after david and head left but knowing david wont ever come back either . their peak was up until untouchables . saw them 2-3 times since 2000
David is the Korn off the kob. Korn lost its unique sound once he left.

Peeps just don't understand that he just like the other members in korn helped create that unique sound.....every drummer in that era tried to copy his sound from the first two albums.....he was a founding member and was there when those guys were freakin stars.....everybody who witnessed korns rise end 90's knows what i'm talking about.....do you guys remember how fucking popular they were during the follow the leader days? Big like pop stars.....they were everywhere man.....without a single doubt during that time they were simply the biggest band in America...
@Soymalian Warlord Well man pain pills and pain in general can really fuck you up crazy style! Unless you've dealt with debilitating pain, every day , on a daily basis, you just have no idea! But that's a good thing, because you will do anything....and I mean anything at all to not feel that pain anymore!!! Then recovering from pain pills doesn't take a couple weeks, or years even...It takes like 7 years!!!! It's fucking crazy! And those little pills are THE ONLY THING THAT HELPS! Weed..pfft don't do shit...Kratom....laughable doesn't do shit either! Nothing works besides pain pills! But I will say that Ray Luzier is a way better technical player and his timing is impeccable! I like him crazy style! I didn't like any Korn without Head though! He was funny as well when I met him a long time ago! He was kinda like my style of humor....just out there! But his style was deeply missing on the previous releases. But their time is past! Follow The Leader was their last great work....IMO of course! Well never hear as good of music as the 90's had....until maybe this coming decade of the 20's! Look at the past....the Roaring 20's! Then the 30's and 40's will be war, then the 60's will be revolution and great music, sucks I won't be around to see it though!
But then by mid 1999 Woodstock in particular Limp Bizkit passed them in popularity

Definitely was something different about his drumming compared to the new guy. Davids sounded alot grittier and raw. Was huge for their sound in the beginning.
He used heavy as fuck drumsticks to get the big sounds

Ray is technical, David is Raw. When Korn made Ray their permanent drummer it's pretty much like they went from a beast to a drum machine...
Back when Korn had the original 5 they were the best hard rock/Heavy metal band. I liked them way more than Metallica and Slipknot in those days. They were so unique and heavy. Still my favorite band today! 💿🔥💥

Never had the chance to see them with the original line up. I don't feel like Korn is complete without David.. I always felt like Luzier was just an amazing professional drummer Korn could hire to fill the void but it just doesn't have the same spirit since then, maybe they just grew old. :D
@Justin Green Lantern Golf I saw them a lot, first time was with Joey Jordison. It was the weird time when Head was gone, the guitarist had to hide behind the amps and other random people were on stage. :p
You saw them looong time ago, probably when they were at their peak.
Ive seen them with the OG line up in 95 when they were opening for Ozzy and again in 2010. First show was absolutely insane and the moment they became my favorite band. Second time i had to leave early, they just werent the same. Dont get me wrong.... Ray is absolutely phenomenal but he just doesnt have that "David groove" and i dont care what anyone says Head was without a doubt the missing link to their sound. All that said i want to see them again now that Head is back, he was is still is one of my biggest influences for guitar.

In 1994 I played in a band called Murder in Exile my name is Otis I was the keyboard player sample guy in the band we opened up for Korn. Much respect especially for the good all days. It really crushed me in the best way when Korn played with The Cure unplugged.!
We can speculate all day long on this....unfortunately what had happened between david and the rest of the guys happened and there's no going back. I believe David is in a painful place right now for wanting to rejoin the band for all the right reasons but i also believe that he knows that KoRn is where they need to be in their career without him. I hope he can find peace and put together something that can spotlight his skill and legendary talent.
David is an awesome drummer. I'm digging his current band, Bias. Liking what i've heard so far!
Message to everyone who thinks they know the situation of these drummers who leave big bands. What happens is a band gets huge and tours non stop the drummer beats his body to shit while everyone else goes “why would we take a break” so then said drummer says fuck it and either powers through with painkillers or just leaves. If you think I’m blowing smoke go try and figure out why tim left primus or why mike left dream theater. Drummers need breaks while no one else wants to take one. It sucks but as a drummer I know the feeling of the rest of the band not understanding how much more the drummer puts out.
I don't know if David left for that reason but if it's like that I totally get that and I agree with this man. As a drummer myself also I can say that is a very hard work cause you need concentration and strength at the same time. All the body is working like you exercise it every day for hours! Is just insane
Drummers and vocalists have it the hardest, for sure.. Dave hit really hard in his time with Korn.. I’m surprised he didn’t get injured more

He's made many statements saying that wasn't the case and he left because of their more mainstream direction. But I guess he's low on cash and hopes he can return to the band.
I don't think he's hurting for money, he owns real estate and restaurants...plus the 15 to 20 million he made with Korn
@@crazyjoedavola5430 I believe some of them restaurants went belly up, plus he was selling all his gear some years back. He's ever going to be out of pocket but I bet he struggles to live the life style he once did

I'll never forget seeing the original 5 in all their glory at Philadelphia's Electric Factory. The best show of my life. I made my way to the front row at any and all cost. I rocked the fuck out more than I ever had. As the show ended, Munky hopped off stage and put his guitar pick in my hand. I'll never forget this moment, I still have the pick to this day🙏
There first Cd/Record is truly one of the best ever

I just saw them again live recently and KoRn sounds absolutely amazing in their live performances, but how I wished I could have seen them play with their original line up. Somehow, I think having David and Fieldly reuniting for a tour would be amazing, but who really knows what’s going on. I just hope everyone is doing well.

I miss david. I hate when bands have beef. The band is bigger than just those five guys. They are so lucky to have the life they do. It would go a long way to show the public that people can get through these things.

Got to see korn back in 2000 at skydome, Toronto, but a few days before that date is when david had to quit because his wrist gave out, was bummed that happened, but mike borden filled in and did a good job for the rest of the Sick & Twisted Tour. Didn't c
David was impossible to replace, no one can match that sound on the snare.
Ray is an awesome drummer, but i like more with Silveira
I was trying to figure out why I like Silveira better in the band than Ray even though Ray is technically a better drummer. He's a much more refined musician than the rest of them and David was just on their same level. Better match.
Dave had an awesome groove, his drumming was tight, but i really agree with the other guy here saying ray is more refined
Dave was always indifferent with the rest of the band. David thought he was irreplaceable, which he kinda true. Korn wasnt the same at all without david. First 3 korn albums solidify korns legacy. And david played a huge part in that. So did the rest of them too though thats what makes korn so special
I dont think he will ever be back in Korn. He should be lucky if they call him when they get inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame.
I dont think its about hate or dislike. Its about stability. Although I love David's straightforward and simplistic style of playing - I dont think the band will risk the stability they now enjoy to bring David back. after all nobody guarantees he will stay in the band in the future and personel change is one of the most destabilizing things a band can go through.
I think he should move on and stop living in the past. Korn has sailed away

Aside from a painful and lengthy recovery, miscommunication is a small ISSUE to possibly work through with Korn. Never say never on reunion.
If he keeps sueing them they will never reunite

JD has gone on record to say he will never work or set foot on stage with David ever again.
Never is a definite in this case.

Im beginning to notice a pattern. First the drummer blames it on injury, then when enough time has elapsed, they say it was something else happened with silveria, joey jordison, lombardo with slayer and chris adler with lamb of god.
hmm back injury. kinda similar to joey jordison's reason to leave slipknot but diffrent injuries the sad thing is that i didnt start listen to korn on regular to probably in 2007 or 08 due to no one introduced me to the music ... but i one day found cds in late 2006 ish start of 2007 at a school libary, which kinda help me through a hard time in life.

As a drummer of over 30 years and 2 back surgeries and a knee surgery I cannot actually tell you that this instrument is no different than a professional athlete. You would not believe the pounding your body takes from slamming all 4 limbs for hours at a time with sticks hitting pieces of metal and synthetic drumheads. For any non drummer alike I suggest you to do jumping jacks/push-ups and running in place for 45 minutes straight and you get a small fraction of what we deal with. Now do that for 1 hour at a time and do that 4 different times in 1 evening and that's what a full set is kinda like. Let's not forget let's pack up the gear and unload the gear at home. Also can't forget about loading in and set up. Bottom line we bust our ass and our bodies pay for it!!! Our Passion is a Passion of love but unfortunately it's our own demise and destruction.
It's been years since David had to setup/take down a kit. I'm not saying it isn't physically demanding but David hasn't done that shit since before sell titled.
@@lucky5th2 Yeah, but bands that set up tend to only play 30-45 minute sets.. Bands like Korn play/played 2 hours every night.. Set up’s a bitch (I know!), but my soreness never came from that.. It came from the actual performance

i think personally it was he was married. she didnt want him touring anymore and he had his restaurant now just do that and leave korn. he got cocky and said i dont need them and then after the divorce he got fucked
David has a unique style and amazing skills. Ray is a great drummer but he sounds like all other 40,000 great drummers in the world, no uniqueness in him, even today his drumming sounds like he just joined the band.
You must be kidding, right??? Loved so much David's sound and brought some great drumming in heavy music. But Ray is also a different guy and definitely has his own style of drumming. Are you a drummer? I am man, and I can definitely tell you that Ray is huge behind the drumkit! The sound of David's drums in live shows though where way better

They all changed as people. Started families, got fat, ran out of money, found god, etc. David's drumming on early Korn was tremendous but I don't think they'll ever be getting back together. At least not for good. It's about human relationships. The vibe is not there.
That’s exactly it. At this point I think korn is a business. They all got families to support and people that are dependent on them. I bet if you could get an honest answer from the members of korn they would agree that without David there sound isn’t as good or unique. But they fully understand that being in a band that is still selling out concerts and earning a good living is not something they would mess around with at this point. They got a formula that is working without the drama. There is no going back. The old korn is done for good, unless for a miracle

David’s style really inspired a generation that’s for damn sure. That and the bass, you always knew it was korn. Add on the trippy guitar riffs and Jonathan’s vocals. You got some shit that sounds like no others.

Loudwire consistently has the lamest video shorts.. I can't count the times ive been left deflated and disappointed whilst hearing their little outro riff... I could hear that riff 50 yrs from now & I'll just get a sense of sadness.
2005. Nu-Metal died. David jumped ship. Korn suffered but survived. The new music was garbage but the fans stuck by them because those first 4 albums were gold.
SYOTOS and Remember Who You Are were good w/o Head and David the latter, but the others before Head came back were naff imo.

It’s so lame that all of these bands from the 90s (Blink, Korn, Red Hot Chili Peppers) couldn’t keep their original lineups. Credit to Red Hot Chili Peppers for restoring theirs and being able to become themselves again. Korn needs to suck it up, forgive and forget, and bring back Silveria.

Yeah sure David.... It had nothing to do with the fact your ego was tearing the band apart because your body image was more important to you than the band itself. David just didnt suit korn and they needed to change. Ray is a better suited drummer to korn and has expanded their sound on so many levels, I'm glad the era of David posing behind the drum kit flexing his muscles ended when it did... Because that kind of personality was a detriment to the message the band was trying to spread.

I thought the reason why he left was too much politics in the band. Not in a sense of democrat or republican, but rather the material being brought to the table when writing. David said in a Facebook post way back in the day, that it was Jonathan who was really taking control of the band
Dave was great but, Ray is one of the best drummers in the business.
