      +tbr2109 I don't think so much that they're the first who knew how to use him, more like they're the first to allow him to actually grow and play within his limits. Rather than looking at him as a franchise saviour. The dude can ball no doubt, but those insane expectations after linsanity as well as all star predictions in LA were really weighing him down.

      +Undecided Undecided I think you may be right. After the game of Nets, Clifford said that Lin is just a backup player and always a backup player. I am not BS; just read that interview and see it yourself.

    Lin's basketball IQ is freaking insane. He's running Xs and Os while he's physically going full-speed on the court. He's like a basketball system on a chip.

      +thefountain What are you talking about? Curry signed a long contract like $11 millions per year; but wait until that expires, he will get a MAX highest contract in history of NBA. Right now this guy is bigger than Lebron because he is still young and will help Warriors to get more ring in the future.

    This was the LARGEST LEAD ever LOST by a Duncan Popovich team in their careers. They had never been up 22 and lost. Lin has SO MANY GAMES LIKE THAT...all the while his coaches tried to hold him back. I remember this game well. Pop was stunned and amused at the same time. He flatly admitted Lin killed them.

    Seems like when Kemba is playing poorly against the top team(Cavs, Spurs, Raptors, Clippers). Jeremy has to come in and control the tempo and rhythm of thier offence

    • @tuanngnt
      @tuanngnt 8 років тому +3

      +CaptainSw3den Because when Kemba is playing with top teams, they will handcuff Kemba; so Clifford has no choice but to unlease Linsanity to happen. When Kemba is hot, then Lin needs to stand in the corner to wait for the ball.....hihihi. This is no bs. Batum is also running the team too; but when Clifford is serious, he will let Lin to play whatever he wants too. Batum is not PG; so there is limit on what he does. Kemba and Lin are PG and they have skill to run the offense for win.

      +Ruoyu Li That Ronnie Price was terrible this year. I watched recent game between Hornets and Suns and Ronnie Price started on that game for an injuried PG in Suns. Ronnie Price played alot of minutes; but NO NO NO production at all. It is like no impact from him at all. I don't know why the coach let him in there may be they have no PG any more.

    Only thing - first lead for the hornets since the opening ~12 seconds was actually 75-74 after Jeremy Lin's 3 immediately after the one where Parker just left him open, and not the 82-80 jumper off the pull up in front of David West.

  • @oldfrend
    @oldfrend 8 років тому +6

    good stuff. imo kemba should start against bad teams and lin should start against good teams. kemba's hero ball makes short work of bad defenses, but a well organized defense would just turn it into turnover city. lin's playmaking is the cure for good defenses. he can be a liability when he tries to hero ball it, but he's in the upper echelon of NBA playmakers when he looks for his teammates. not just talking about straight up assists, but cracking open a defense to get someone an open shot.

      +415Underdog Maybe. I don't know if money is all that motivating for Lin. It seems like he just wants playing time and a good group of guys on his team. This is the first team he's played on where there isn't a scorer demanding the ball and it's working well for him.

    What I found impressive about Lin's play is how he made all the right decisions and was able to execute his shots with great precision. During his with the Knicks, Rockets, and Lakers, Lin seemed to flourish with slashers, perimeter shooters, and bigs (Novak, Shumpert, Chandler, Stoudemire, Asik, Jones, Parsons, Garcia, Caspi, Howard, Davis, Johnson, & Black were the beneficiaries). In this last game, he was the scorer and didn't pass to the open man.
    Clearly he can't keep this up game after game, but it was an amazing thing to watch.

  • @MeesterSun

    he definitely learned how to finish around the rim better compared to his knicks and houston days where he would get blocked a lot. If he considers Charlotte home then I'm happy for him (looks way happier there compared to when he was in Houston) but as a Spurs fan I would like to see him in a Spurs uniform next season. We are probably losing Ginobli next year and we need some creativity off the bench.

    • @tuanngnt
      @tuanngnt 8 років тому +1

      +MeesterSun yeah you are right. Nowaday he attacks the rim and finish on both sides of the rim. During linsanity in Knick, he usually finished on one side of the rim. He improved alot and everything. His defense is #1 in Hornets and probably only behind MKG.

      +Dakota Clayton Warriors missed a ton of open shots, doubled Steph forcing both him and Klay to give up the ball and have other players beat them, and minimized their own turnovers even though they still had a bunch. They took advantage of the lack of any real bigs for GSW, with no Bogut or Ezeli, and attacked the second unit without Iguodala.

      +Dakota Clayton Splash brothers had a bad night, Iggy usually who provides points off the bench was injured. however they managed to get close because of their defense but they just can't seal the rebounds. the warriors have no legit centers with Ezeli and Bogut injured. Green and Speights are really undersized although we gotta admire their efforts for battling for rebounds. Varejao is just soft, McAdoo has a long way to go. splash brothers offnight and can't rebound thats it.

    He usually plays well against the Spurs! Coach, did you catch the Orlando-Boston game last night? Nothing too exciting, but breaking down Thomas' 28-point night might help some of the younger kids develop strong slashing games. He uses his body to lull defenders to sleep and finish with tricky layups really well, and that game exemplifies all of his strengths.

    People criticize Lin for his flaws but there's no doubt he's a heck of an NBA player. An undrafted Asian American out of Harvard, it's amazing how he has become a good NBA player. From being cut constantly and bouncing around D-League, he has really carved himself out a heck of a career

    Kemba went cold against Spurs & turn cold against big teams. If Lin didn't step up, then Hornets would simply lose another game. Lin is good to be on the bench because Hornets is built around Kemba and the second and third team can rely on Lin which makes both first and second teams pretty evenly strong..

    Give him the spotlight and with a little patience, Lin's game can become more consistent and have better results. Just need the opportunity. If you look back at his Linsanity days, he didn't start putting up great numbers his first two or three games. But look what happened afterwards.

    How well has Kemba being playing this year. Tbh I haven't heard much about him this season. I think Lin is a better defensive player than Kemba. It would be interesting to see what Clifford does with the 2 guards. Also I think Lin's contract was for only a year so that will also be a factor.

    • @Grind2Excellence
      @Grind2Excellence 8 років тому

      I think Kemba is averaging 21 ppg and 6 assist. He is their best player now

    • @seal3081
      @seal3081 8 років тому

      DIMES also I think his 4 year contract started this season. Therefore I don't get what people are saying I don't think the Hornets are ideal for Lin with walker there.

    • @PradigyMusicman
      @PradigyMusicman 8 років тому

      +seal3081 Kemba is having his best season and has done great with Batum playing SG. When MKG was playing the Hornets were on another level. Courtney Lee is a good replacement for the starters now as he has good Defense and can hit the open shot. Lin isn't better than Kemba at all and is very inconsistent, however when playing against a team like Boston you see Lin and Kemba utilized together, however Lin's defense is still bad and exposes him. Kemba has found a 3pt shoot which has made him deadly. He's had some really high scoring games this year, by far the best player on the team.

      +jay j he's definitely underrated. people just tend to call him overrated at times due to linsanity, but other than that Jeremy Lin has always been a solid player. its just that at times over the past years he's been inconsistent. the thing with the hornets is that he gets consistent playing time and a role, unlike the rockets/Lakers where he was constantly in and out of the lineups. I'm happy he has found a home

    + Undecided Undecided I am assuming you are one of many who believes Jeremy Lin is only a Backup point guard. That is what many in the NBA would like us to believe. Jeremy Lin won 7 game winning streak without Carmelo. Something the Knicks could not even do even with Porzingis and Carmelo playing. Some would argue that back then, teams did not know Lin's tendencies. Well, Jeremy Lin did not know other teams' tendencies either; yet, not many would give Jeremy Lin credit.
    If Jeremy Lin is only a backup, how was he able to beat Cleveland even without the help of Kemba Walker? How many starting point guards out there could say that they beat Cleveland at least once? Or how was Jeremy Lin able to beat San Antonio Spurs who led by 23 points after the first quarter? How many starting point guards could come back from a 23 point deficit and still win against San Antonio?

    smh Danny Green...down 1 wide open jumper right at the free throw line...and he dribbles back to the three. Not only that, had he made it, they would have set up a 2 for 1 and so even if the Hornets score, they would have at least 1 more chance at a basket. With Duncan and Aldridge both clogging the paint, if he missed, there might also be a chance at an Oreb...but dribbling back allows defense to get set and with the shot clock dwindling, that takes away your chance of getting a high quality shot...Pop must have got on his case afterwards.
