What happened to jeremy lin? HE'S AN NBA CHAMPION BABY!!

I'm an Asian American and my grandpa loved this guy. In his dying years he would turn on the TV to watch Jeremy Lin and the New York Knicks. It was a bright spot in a dark time in his life.
:'(
R.I.P
Thank God for Jeremy Lin @such a sad point in your family's ordeal. He gave so many people joy, and it wasn't just for Asian fans, it was for people looking to see light at some point emerge to give hope. Thankful that your grandpa received some joy in watching this incredible experience. May he RIP.

William Maxwell I feel you bro
14:41 that's heartbreaking. Athletes don't necessarily cry over injuries. This man wasn't crying because of pain, but because he was hit with the realization that he's not gonna play another game this season. You can see the transition in his facial expressions. It's so sad.
14:43“ I’m Done I’m Done”?
Starts to cry
Man that shit is upsetting
That moment when you realize that Jeremy Lin won a ring before Carmelo Anthony.
And harden, and cp3
Yes sir!!!

@@rayray5472 he worked hard to come back after rupturing his patella tendon, he contributed to the Raptors regular season that made them the no.2 seed in the east. he worked hard & got his chance to play for a NBA team that won the championship. haters gonna hate lol
@michael douglas hey dumbass, nobody "put him there". He had a buyout with the Atlanta Hawks and then signed with the Raptors. Do some research before opening your mouth. SMH
@michael douglas piece of shit. You're trash LOL
As a asian american basketball player. Jeremy Lin is one of my biggest inspirations.
zen look at lin man so inspirational
Then don’t have a race mentality. If you think that you being Asian is a bad thing, that mindset makes it a bad thing. Always remember, credit your skill, don’t blame your race
Jimmy Kimmel But blackface // who told you i said me being asian is a bad thing? i can’t have a role model of my own race?

@@2kmichaeljordan438 welp that also fits another race that is always crying about inequality.
Great video and such a great story. I was living in NYC during Linsanity and it was so memorable and exciting. Lin ended up making over $60 million in his NBA career AND he has a ring! God bless this guy’s effort and unforgettable story!
Jeremy Lin is finally the first Asian-American to win a championship for playing with Toronto Raptors, which suits the player for real.

@@TheMontross Lol just saying.
He would've been a slow, average height and average athleticism black guy what d1 school would give him a scholarship
He's a cry baby upset Mario Chalmers of all people locked him up. Lin didn't even believe in himself opting to not play in the playoff with the Knicks vs the Heat out of fear he'd play bad and lose out his free agent dollars. If he was black he would've been called selfish for that.
So many ppl on this raps lineup were due for a ring, especially Lin.
Just a reminder, Jeremy Lin will end his career with more rings than melo ;)

@@rayray5472 more rings than you do 🤷🏾♂
Ray Ray is correct, the championship ring is nice, but not getting a chance to play any significant minutes at all in the final games make having that ring less meaningful. No veterans athletes say, “I was on the team as a bench warmer for the final to earn this championship ring.”
14:40 is so so heartbreaking...I mean he knows it's over..
The fact he has a stat of "first (race here) to ever play in the NBA shows just how racist he was viewed.
I love how this was suggested to me AFTER the Raps won lmao
Problem is after the championship, no NBA team wants to pick him up anymore
Love how after you said this he was cut and doesn't have a team anymore 😂🤣
Also he said he doesn’t give a shit since he played no minutes to get it lmfao
Yeah hes has ring cuz of Kawhi Leonard.
He was garbage Mario Chalmers stole the ball from him easily. In the Miami vs new York game pay attention.

He should still be playing in the NBA.
He's pursuing an NBA return now
Crazy that we always discuss the James Harden OKC to Houston trade. That trade effectively destroyed Jeremy Lin's career, since he went from being Houston's potential starting PG to riding the bench and eventually bounced around and got injured as hell. Jeremy will always be a big what if to me, we have no idea how good this guy was or wasn't since he never got a fair and healthy chance to be a starting PG anywhere.
Jeremy Lin definitely fell but he ain’t a nobody

It wasn't just racism his stats were shit in the first year of the NBA, and his weaknesses got the better of him later in his career, that being he was bullied constantly on the floor (aka hard fouls to set an example), he did alot gimmicky moves, that sometimes worked like a charm but other times an elbow

Stop hating melo is a hall of famer and lin is not let that sink in melo came from nothing and made it big so shut the hell up
I'm not hating on Melo lol. He is a hall of famer no doubt. But don't act like Jeremy Lin didn't work hard to get in the NBA.
Melo is just more naturally talented, but Lin literally had the much, much harder pathway to the NBA and becoming a champ cuz no one gave him a chance to even play.
All the melo karma has come full circle. Literally no one wants him.
Not even LaLa

You could say he is a WASbeen.
Exactly melo was a cocky bastard for that
What Happened To Jeremy Lin? NBA racism
Black supremacy. Pure hate. Impose diversity on the racist NBA!
@Negus With Gratitude Who you calling 'white?' and, sure, racism exists: mainly in black people. Integrate the NBA!!
@Negus With Gratitude A meritocracy? What could be more racist? Black players with a disparate wealth of skills must be penalized 10 points at the beginning of the game to allow for justice and equality players of other races who are victims of black supremacy.
Blacks can't be racists. Right? Right???
Black people sometimes forget that the treatment they got from whites, they do to asians
Probably watched this one video 3 times, can’t get enough of your vids thank you

@Matt Ford how could an NBA player be trash? Man even Scalabrine plays better than anyone you know.
Maybe YOU should know basketball. Youre a white guy hating on an Asian for absolutely nohing, dumbass. Gtfo racist.
@@wazzup233 lmao he had 1 good playoff run in 2012 with the Knicks after that he got bounced around cuz he didn't cut it anymore
Gives me chills just thinking about the way Lin showed up after being put down for so long. Might as well throw in my two cents about Melo though: Melo has done nothing but a primadonna ball hog who has always stifled the growth of his teammates. A Hall of Famer based on stats and All-star appearances alone, not on being a good teammate or a winner.
Adrian M-d Its funny Jr smith looked way better with Melo than he ever did with Lebron. Not to mention the only time Lin looked good was with the knicks with Melo on the team. If you had common sense you can figure that mike dantoni deserves the credit. He "stifled the growth of his teammates" this is the same jermey lin that played with Kobe, harden and now the garbage nets and nowhere near as good. And not a good teammate? he was voted the best knicks teammate last season.
Rob Zack Except now Mike Diantoni is coaching an incredible rockets team and carmelo can't find a place where he fits in. Look I'm a knicks fan, but Carmello never did anything to help us when it comes to team ball
Kenneth Forrister thats where you are wrong. Melo led the knicks in scoring, rebounding and assits in 2016 and was their best permeiter defender that season. What else you want him to do? They havent had a winning season without melo since 2001? Youre an idiot if you think Melo didnt do anything to help. Hes the reason why Knicks were ever relevant
That's completely incorrect like I said I'm a Knicks fan and sure Melo was a good player but he was a terrible teamate that didn't want to share the spotlight, Lin, Melo, and KP could have happened if it wasn't for his selfishness. He was good, but he was never great and he never led us to a ring because he didnt like playing with people that would shift the focus of the spotlight, thr Knicks are going to win a ring now that they don't have to worry about his off-court bullshit, mark my words
Not to mention he never made anyone better, Lin played well when Carmelo was injured and Jr Smith's good play had nothing to do with him
Carmelo Anthony is such a crybaby
That's how it is when all you got to look forward to humping is plastic back home.
Thank you for making this film....thank you!!!
Carmelo getting injured was the best thing to ever happen to Jeremy Lin

Eddie Fisher 😂😂
lol
Eddie Fisher Its not Melo's fault that lin's career went downhill after NY & the knicks had their only great season in the 2000's the season after lin left & Melo was an MVP candidate & scoring champ. In hindsight the knicks made the right decision. It was never confirmed that melo wanted lin gone its only speculated. Lin even said he never heard or felt that melo disliked him. Korzemba has always hated on melo.
Lin still got game hes underrated I hope that injury doesn’t slow him down I actually like his game.
Fore20 Reacts facts
I just gotta give props to Mike for being so woke. Much love bruh.
Also, Lin was fucked over for being Asian, it became obvious after he didnt get recruited by a top-notch basketball college, or that "ch*nk in the armor" headline. This is just as shameful as the whiteballing of Colin Kaepernick.
Biggest What-Ifs in NBA History:
1. What if Derrick Rose never tears his ACL?
2. What if the Thunder never traded James Harden?
3. What if Mike D'Antoni never left New York and Jeremy Lin had a fair opportunity?
Congratulations Jeremy Lin on winning a NBA Championship
Blatant racism. Very unfortunate injuries, savage teammate politics. I'm not saying life should be fair, part of all the adversity actually made him stronger, but that no NBA team built a starting roster around him as PG before his injuries to me seems gutless. Still an inspiring story. I'll always remember his progress with the Knicks.
He was a beast at Harvard. I knew him before the whole Linsanity thing because of the Ivy League telecasts on the YES Network and I was trying to glean whatever extra info I could on all midmajors for my brackets. Honestly, he's an extremely skilled, world class player, but to last in the NBA, you need to either be explosively athletic or have the length and girth to play defense, and unfortunately for Lin he's all skill, but no explosive athleticism and has a very slender frame. If he bulked up, he'd lose some of his driving finesse. He's just not anything more than an excellent role player at the NBA level, it has nothing to do with race.
I really liked Jeremy Lin, it was great to watch him play in college. I do not watch much NBA, but despite being a Uconn fan I really wanted Lin to succeed in the NBA. That said, what I do always find interesting are numbers. If you look at his career average points per game, its 11.9, which places him a little better than in the middle of the pack (109th out of 280) players.
If anything I would say his race helped put butts in seats, especially while playing for the Knicks. The NBA is a business and is not stupid, they understand trends like "Linsanity" make money. If anything I would argue his race helped him at least for a certain span of his NBA career.
I tend to believe things like statistics or player politics (i.e. conflict Carmelo Anthony) than over yet again another anecdotal racism claim.
Lets not forget Yao Ming from China, who had his jersey retired and is in the NBA hall of fame. Racism there too?
@@nuticles2002 It's been mentioned time and time again that throughout his childhood and college years he had to face the racial prejudice. His overall season stats being average is also explained by the fact that he wasn't invested in as a starting point guard, which is his designation. With that talent and drive, you can't expect him to take a back seat. I'm not pleading affirmitive action or anything like that. The thing with Carmelo Anthony having that much influence over front office management is just ridicolous. Knicks thinking investing that much in a player who's got them no closer to the one thing that trumps all else, namely the NBA championship. Lin was in the prime of his carreer, Anthony comes back from IR, and decides he can't handle the competition. Showed his true colors, and used back channels to get rid of the competion instead of sharing he limelight, being a true team player for the greater good. How long has it been since they won the finals? 48 and 45 years to date, ('70 and '73). Taken in consideration that the franchise has been playing in the NBA since 1946, that's not a very long time, but it seems to me they're not exactly in a rush to please their fans. MSG has one of the most consistent attendances in the league, still. It's just a shame for the fans being cheated in this way, and I believe J. Lin in the course of 2-3 seasons could've contributed to give a much needed push to the Knicks over say the Miami Heat at that time, or the Indiana Pacers, and against the San Antonio Spurs or the Oklahoma City Thunder. I'm not claiming they would'he had the consistency to beat Golden State or Cleveland. Their roster would've benefitted of a bit more depth, though. It seems the Knicks organization doesn't manage to attract enough players who combine talent and ambition with the humility, dedication and sacrifice it takes to win a championship.
+nuticles2002 racists use racism more than anyone else
fat
Only the Knicks ALLOWED LIN to run a team and be the quarterback the whole game, and what happened?
He made a mediocre team played like everyone was an MVP, team ball even Chandler and Jeffries
were offensive threats. Every other team he was not given the opportunity to LEAD A TEAM. LIN'S genius
is his high IQ ON THE FLOOR, deciphering and calculating ways to beat you while making everyone around
him play better. He was smart enough to make adjustments and even without real playing time experience
he proved he could win. Carmelo and most Blacks hated him, were jealous he got all that attention and
discriminated him except his teammates and Knicks fans. Shame on you.
I fully agree. Even when you knew what he was gonna do you STILL couldn't stop it. I'll go to my grave confused as to why the Knicks did what they did.
Thanks mike. Very inspiring content. Get well soon Linsanity
He's had to deal with blatant racism since he began playing as a young guy. He literally had the crowds at his college games calling him racial slurs. It's disgusting.
youtubeuser: the fucked up thing is, majority of those racism came from black americans.
Not just Black Americans mate, everyone had a pop at him. Different groups showed racism in different ways. Whites overlooked him and his talents, other minorities sometime threw slurs. Plus with minorities, you give as good as you get to each other; its part of the mutual understanding between the two groups.
bucky1968 comparing your “struggle” with someone else’s is some “snowflake” arrogance. How can we progress living in this world pretending to be oblivious to hatred? - it wasn’t until someone stood up for themselves that the world began to change and you white fairies couldn’t handle it.
Blacks can't be racist. They don't benefit from the system. Try again.
You don’t know anything about racism ya good
Nobody? This is the same guy who put up 26 points a couple weeks ago and 19 in the other game and that's a nobody? Na he's not a nobody, he's just not in today's social media spotlight. Yeah hey may be only averaging 11 points a game, but he's still in the league, still playing, and still getting paid...
Very True! Most NBA players are gone (even the 1st round draft picks) after 4 years in the league. Jeremy is still averaging 11 points a game at 8th year in the league, he is doing really well. The truth is, right now, Jeremy is better than ever . Just don't get injured and things will be fine.
This video was made before this season even started. At the time of this video, he hadn’t played since the start of the 2017-2018 season, so he was kind of a nobody at that point.
unwishfulthink If Jeremy Lin wasn’t injured he would have have the capability to average 20 ppg over his career by now
He is a somebody but hes discriminated against.
Like really bad.
I was always told that I was a chess player, a drama club member, that I didn't belong on the basketball court. I was always the sixth man off the bench and I was never going to be good at basketball. I never let that discourage me. Watching Jeremy Lin roll through NBA teams with the camera on him made me realize that all you need is an opportunity. I won several trophies in the military on teams that weren't the favorites, including one that was picked last and, even when we had a postseason tournament, we were given the third seed even though we'd won the season. I still have those trophies.
I coach my grandchildren today, and I likely have a couple of D1 players in my living room. I'm going to tell them never to overlook the price of hard work and really wanting it.
Great video!
How Linsanity will BREAK the NBA!
Trying to watch on my pc but I'm so early it's not there yey
StreetZ NBA mike would have probably would have a vid like that.
StreetZ NBA Why on earth would he make a video about Jeremy Lin if nobody cares about him.
Asiel MILIAN Check out my channel? God bless ua-cam.com/video/huITsLNFr7A/v-deo.html
StreetZ NBA Why Jeremy Lin is NOT HUMAN
And this is why Carmelo is my least favorite NBA player of all time. Overrated, selfish, and straight up a ball hog.
Philly Nation fuck melo's overrated ass
Hes good .. Great even but have to take less to make more.. What be greatest just to be losing team never a threat for championship.. Thats problem getting paid to much to lose.. And then want fans to represent them why cause in same city??.. Losers should be getting paid less.. How is in real world
Philly Nation It doesn't matter if You're a ball hog, a lot of ball hogs have great careers, to name a few, there's Kobe Bryant, Russel Westbrook, Wilt Chamberlain, and of course, Melo, and the problem about Melo is that people forget his days in Denver, where he would consistently average points in the mid 20s, FG%s in the 40s, and around 4 APG, which based on his position and roll in his team's offense was quite impressive, also take into account that he did this with another ball dominant player, in Allen Iverson, on his team
Stoopid Storeez There are two types of ball hogs. The ones that can win while ball hogging and the ones that ball hog and still lose. Melo and Westbrook aren't like Kobe and Wilt cause they can't win while ballhogging. Kobe had to ballhog to win.
kkfromkkland what do u mean a winner like championships?
He had some terrible luck man…bad fit teams, bad talent management, injuries. But I’ll never forget when Lin went super saiyan for those few weeks for the knicks. NY was going insane for that guy
Just wondering what is the intro beat? Been looking for it for a while
It all started with Carmelo Anthony, and his decision to throw a fellow NBA player under the bus because he was jealous of a contract, and the attention he was getting.
Never in the history of sports has there been a player who was willing to throw another player under the bus over a contract that had nothing to do with him. Usually, a player wants to see other players do well financially because it benefits everybody. Just goes to show what a piece of garbage Carmelo Anthony is.
But it didn't end there, as he ended up on the Houston Rockets, where he would have to endure another ball hog player in Harden, and a dumbass coach who refused to use him properly.
There was also Kobe Bryant. It was clear from the start that there was a personal Vendetta against Lin because of his popularity, and the fact that he is Asian.
The guy has consistently shown he has talent, but has never truly been treated as such. He still young, but he also gets hurt a lot, which is a shame.
Not to mention melo is one of the worst players I've ever seen with as much hype as he gets..
Lin is good very above average.
All James Harden does is pass. He just happens to be a great scorer as well. His problem was passing too much. He had nothing to do with Jeremy Lin's struggles. Don't talk about what you don't know. It just offends people.
DISCO-INFERNO-70 and now look at melo teams don’t even want him this is karma 😂😂
Kobe made shaq leave though.
He forgot about the hornets
Bump this shit up man the hornets are literally the most disrespected team ever
He was actually pretty good with the Hornets. I want Lin to retire with the Knicks.
Who could forget that haircut in the 2015-16 season?
Lin's haircut that season got the Hornets into the playoffs
TheNamesDitto lmao
Now he won a ring before Chris Paul, Carmelo, and Cousins.
Let’s not forget Westbrook
I'm so sad he's not in NYC either on knicks or nets. Great video thanks man
Don't underestimate Jeremy Lin. He still got fans and we believe in him. High chance of being an all star in the East now
Uchiha Sage Hey can you subscribe to me & like and comment on my recent video thanks!!!!!!
Carmelo Anthony happened
PrezSteej Yeah.
Exactly why he will never win championship😂
And Kobe
PrezSteej If he was a star he would have been a star anywhere he played can't blame the black guy
Ya Boi Chimp If you think Lin was gonna help the Knicks win a chip your a simp
Thank you for an excellent piece. A 4.2 GPA in high school. That’s impressive!
Dude.....he was super popular in Houston....he was a superstar here
This dude just forgot about Lin having a great playoff series against the Heat when he was on Charlotte. And he didn’t even mention how Lin had a good season as a 6 man for Charlotte right before the nets. He just forgot about the season in Charlotte😂
If he gives up the NBA at least he got a Harvard degree
It also does not hurt that he has made millions of dollars. :)
Aswin A yup
X1xone He Asian, you know he invested
Mark Yates a degree in what though
Spooky doesn't matter tbh, if you have a degree from harvard no matter what it is there will be plenty of companies willing to hire you
Damn. Christmas Day?!? That’s cold. 😂
*me has volume all the way up during Intro* my ears: Ahh yes gone deaf
