Would be nice to have a comparison between the addict rc15 and the tarmac sl7 pro on a riding aspect... Is the difference is price just done by the specialized name on it??
Scott bikes are 🔥🔥🔥 defenitely keeping my 2021 Addict SE. I went on gravel/ single track trail ride this morning and it's amazing how the bike responded with Panaracer SK+ 32c (baby knobs) Great value for Etap Axs $3999, just gonna upgrade the stock alloy wheels to Zipp 303s with wider Internal width. I am a fan of Scott Addict now.
I own the Addict RC 15 2020 and daily it on both tarmac and gravel! It´s an impressive machine and certainly some of the best bang for the buck out there. Niggles so far: the hub engagement is not ideal with quite a bit of rotation before engagement, the Belcara saddle... Huge piece of junk: heavy and far from comfy (for my ass anyways..), but that is it! Everything else is a joy and owning it has be care free! It feels like a tank, has a great steering feel, reacts well to acceleration and it's actually comfortable on uneven surfaces! Would buy again. ( Size 56, rider weight:87kg, height 181cm).
Great input!!! Thanks so much! And yes Scott is killing it with price point and what you get for the money. The bikes are still very high end quality. I love selling them in the store because consumers always feel like they got a great deal
I’m tossing up between this and the tarmac sl7 expert (I think the sl7 looks better but the rc15 overall is a better all rounder). Due to current lockdowns going to have to order online sight unseen, I’m 181cm and 82kgs and looking at the L56 too. I think the 2020 grey looks better than the 2021 black too. Well done with your purchase, hopefully pull the trigger this week.
@@GCPerformance18 thanks! How do these wheels compare to to Zipp 303s? I’m considering the RC 20 because of price and I really want to try sram. I will upgrade to the 303s eventually. Bad idea?
Super bike, totally agree, especially for this price. Super color too. I have had 2 CR1’s, momentarily I am riding an Addict and a Canyon cF SLX. Would like to trade the Canyon for the RC.
People complaining about weight. My friend has a bmc team machine slr02 one, thing weighs 18 pounds with cages, Dt-swiss arc 1100's, and full enve cockpit. Get some sweet wheels, you get way more integration and aero gains.
lmao I know I thought for sure it was gonna stay on, but honestly it is super strong and your not going to have an impact like that while cycling normally, unless in crash
so its not like a full blown endurance line but I think there addicts that are not under there "RC" category are the endurance models but granted you can run 32s on there no problem and those bikes are very comfy... like super comfy
@@backpackerx Yes I saw and made a deposit for mine last week. I agree the colors aren’t that great but that’s what modifications are for. I might end up upgrading to the RC 10 for $500, I’ll get SRAM and a white paint job, not bad.
I have the same bike and did several cobble stone rides with it like Tour de Flanders, etc Don't expect same comfort as a gravel bike but it's quit good to do it. During longer rides over 'normal' bad surface like we are used to in Belgium, it's a comfy bike. Not as fast as my Giant Propel but it gives a more relaxed feel.
Some of the Scott models are better deals if you value the Dura Ace mechanical group over Di2 and if you value the wheels that come with the bike. The thing about Specialized that pundits rarely if ever mention is that Roval wheels are among the best in absolute performance and value proposition. In that condition, the prices of the Ultegra equipped Specialized bikes deliver amazing value for the price even though people often balk when just looking at generic "carbon Ultegra niche" price comparisons. The main value add from Specialized comes from their amazing OEM builds - assuming those are the builds you're looking for. And the latest Roval wheels are the best yet in terms of absolute performance for the niche and value proposition. The bike in this video is a good value compared to the SL7 Expert, but not the Pro. I would absolutely end up buying the Roval wheels for the SL7. That's more important to me than anything else on the SL7 considering that I already have an SL6. I'd buy the Addict RC15 but I'm not sure if I'd pay quite that much because I wouldn't use the wheels. I'm not saying it's a bad deal for anyone that can use the OEM wheels. It is a good deal.
@Adam Ewart How are they "far from the best value" without you showing me something to compare to? If you value excellent every day performance and a lifetime warranty show me a better set of wheels that are in stock for buyers to inspect before purchase. And shove your "thousand words" whinge up your own ass if you want to be taken seriously about anything. The best thing about Specialized is their research and development. That doesn't mean you have to pay for any of their big ticket offerings to benefit from it. I'm not even saying that they're "the best" in any sense. But of the products that can be seen in stock around the USA and a lot of Europe, not to mention Asia, they often do have the best performance and value proposition. There are some bikes that I like a little better but make for a bad investment. There's a short list of bikes I have that I prefer over the Tarmac but I won't buy it without inspecting it for myself. I don't believe anyone's BS. Not even yours. Specialized's marketing sucks, IMO. They're too close to Silly Con Valley. That's their main problem. I like Scott as well. There's nothing wrong with them. I simply haven't seen any of the models in stock that I'm interested in. And since I already own a Tarmac I can confidently buy an SL7 or a Gen 3 Venge online if it comes to that. None of my views have a GD thing to do with anyone's "marketing."
@Adam Ewart LOL. "Trigger warning...thousands of words!!!" The new Roval wheels (designed in tandem with the SL7) are unprecedented. It's the first wheel set for a bike designed with differentiated front and rear rim designs for UCI legal road racing. Not just asymmetric front and rear depth. The other Roval wheels each have their niche and maybe you can find better deals for yourself, maybe not. And if the CL series are offered for less than $2000 a pair (to replace the CL50s of the previous "Pro" model Tarmac) there will be nothing on the market approaching their performance for that price. I don't care what you use. Your pompous editorializing was pretty much useless. And you blame "Specialized marketing" for your own inability to provide useful insight or advice. So, anyway, if we don't care about warrantees (and brick and mortar dealers to take the pain out of the claims process) or actual performance, it's possible that there are other brands that compete with Specialized favorably if you only determine value by saying "what is the lowest price 50 mm carbon fiber wheelset" or something like that. And you just assume that prices are only higher when "marketing" determines that they want higher margins. Maybe certain Hunt wheels are better dollar for dollar than the low end Specialized wheels. I have no comment because I can't test them for myself. None of that takes away from the fact that the new wheels introduced for the SL7 are possibly the best you can buy at any price for typical road race conditions. Only an ignorant fool would treat these wheels as "commodity" and rant about "marketing" as if all of the fluid dynamics development is pure BS.
Scott is a really nic ebike and they really pay attention to detail and the quality control form the factory is top notch I would say, better packaging from specialized.
I mean honestly after seeing this bike in person and playing with it, it is a really nice bike for the money and with everything on it, I think as is this is the nicer bike of the two for th price. you wont go wrong picking either bike but on the scott your getting carbon wheels for 600 bucks more which is insane deal
