I gotta say you are the first person I’ve ever seen on the UA-cam that did such a good job of actually focusing the camera on the unit at a pleasing distance, and use of great lighting on the unit screen, AND then fiddling with what it does AND explaining what sound you’re going for AND then playing it! Great job mate! I just got a Tonex One (the tiny pedal), so I’ve got that going for me…
Yes! I just sold my Marshall and all my pedals and got one of these. They are awesome. I'm so happy you have one as well. Can't wait for some Lamb Chopper patches!
Coincidence I just bought mine this month as well, and like you I am absolutely amazed at how this sounds. Shocking. It's remarkable. Been following you for years LC and I find it neat that you've got one recently too. Great playing and hope your parrot is well. Cheers mate
Thank God for people like you who can sit down and have the patience to put the hard work into sorting great metal tones when there's people like me who turn the unit on wanting it to do all these sounds already! And then thanks to me, being able to add you on cortex control and the 'stealing' all your hard work. Thanks man, as you can gather I've added you on the cortex cloud thing. Big fan of the channel too. 🦜
I've kind of been waiting for this for a while... waiting to see you get a modeler, whether it be the Quad Cortex or Line 6, etc.... It'll be great to hear what you create with it, outside of capturing from your own gear.
The tones are bang on and amazing. Love your channel and videos. Looking for advice on getting a Jackson V with a hard tail brindge any recommendations
I’ve had an ax8, my guitar partner had a kemper they sounded great but the moment you hit the war is my Shepard riff… holy crap and the rust tone Hot damn… I love real amps but these tools are now better in many situations
Wicked video. Question- do you have headphones on because you don’t want to upset others in the house, so you’re recording everything into your DAW but hearing it in real time? Secondly, how are you aligning your video with your DI sound? Are you just eyeballing it?
Yeah that’s why I wear headphones. Only I hear the guitar. I tap the guitar neck a few times after pressing record on everything so I can align the spikes in the audio to sync it all up
I've bought so many effects racks/boards and they just sit gathering dust. After the initial wow factor and spending hours dialling them in, I get to the rig, start playing and find out how slow they are. By that I mean if you need to change a couple of parameters you have to go into the bank, remember where the edit button is, scroll through the menu, muck around with whatever you need to change, then save. Only to realise the next song needs a shorter delay! So you can either copy that bank to another one, and go through all the bs again. By comparison, I plug my pedal board in, turn a knob and done!
Well I'm rather partial to pedals and heads. I don't have time for computers and menus diving....I'm lucky to be able to play once a week on my gear...oh the joys of fatherhood!
@LambChopper678 I love your vids and the tones you get. I may need to get another QC. If you ever get into the market for a power amp, I recommend the KSR PA50. I've used it with the QC, HX Stomp and now the FM3. I ended up selling all my amps(mark iv, 6505, Atla 100, KSR Ares and a couple Marshall builds)
I was confused when you pulled up the 5150III preset and then had the controls for the Mark IIc+ - did you switch out the amp Block on the preset? - as usual another great video - I'm jealous, makes me want to pick up a cortex, but I'm waiting to see if they will ever actually be able to use the Neural plugins like they promised. I would hate for them to find out they need a hardware change to be able to provide that feature, and they release the Quad Cortex Mk II w/ plugin support lol. Cheers mate!
Other than my twenty plus tube ambs right now I am Hooked on the katana but really Thinking about getting a quad cortex. Did you get rid of your katana ?
Nah I’ve still got it but I was hoping they’d give it an update before moving onto the 3rd gen already. If you happen to buy a mk1 only 5 years ago you’d feel a little pissed.
Uhhh asking for a friend, are you going to be sharing caps/presets? =) As an early adopter, I'm still pissed at how much NDSP overpromised and underdelivered. With the CEO posting things about desktop software and plugin support being a few months after release. It's really easy to dial in and sound friggin' fantastic. Just as long as you don't want many delay/reverb options :P
Me before watching this video: "I really don't need one of these" Me after: "well, I can sell a bunch of stuff to make the purchase more affordable". Seriously, will probably have one of these in a few years. Unrelated - any chance we can get another video with this Katana:Go? I've been using your presets since you put it out and would love me some more.
They are actually very simple to use. Pick your amp and cab and away you go. If you're into lots of pedals these units actually simplify the switching, so no tap dancing around your pedalboard. What makes this one special is that you can control it all intuitively from the touch screen.
First thing I had to do was see how old this was. I thought, this can’t be cutting edge tone. Listening as someone that tried different digital ‘effects’ and modelers, but quickly went back to using analog pedals and a real amp-this sounded really boxy and stale. even the delay trials, everything was just kind of choked. I think someone just gets used to these sounds, and thinks it sounds good… or as good as tube amps and analog pedals. It does sound like a lot of newer metal I hear, so I know a lot of people dig that more processed sound. But still sounds like cheap plug-ins to me. Pretty expensive gear to try and find a great real tone. 🤘🏻😝🎸🇺🇸
Best video thumbnail ever. Sweet content as usual. :)
When LambChopper678 says “I can’t hear the difference” that is the greatest endorsement the Quad Cortex has ever received.
Some of the captures are noticeable but the SC20 was flawless❗️

I get that, it’s pretty impressive
Nice work 🤟
Kudos to Neural DSP for getting on board and gifting you the quadcortex and recognising your videos!!
Great Job finally someone I can understand!!
I am so buying one . I also look forward to your patches

Damn, man! Your videos are so awesome! This one is no exception...
This is the best Quad Cortex video review so far.
Amazing!
What a tone you have!
It's the best guitar based piece of gear I've ever purchased
My goodness, the thumbnail. Yes.
If this video had been you playing for a few hours, I'd have watched it twice. Looking forward to more quad cortex videos!
Looking foreword to seeing more of this on the channel. My Qc has become the go to. I rarely plug in my amps anymore
Thanks for sharing presets!
I plan to share them all as time goes on 🤘🏻
I've had mine a couple months now, it's the best
Great video! I would really like to see you review the BluGuitar Amp Iridium.
I’m stoked for you QC captures

Man, I been watching you for a bit. I am truly looking forward to downloading your patches. Keep up the great work!!
So thankful for this channel!
The Alexi sounded amazing riffing.

Sounds good to me, Lamb.
Love your content mate, keep up the good work
Hellyeah! I got the QC for a while now. Glad you love it too🤘🏼
Long time watching… didn’t realize I haven’t subscribed yet… just did that
This is such an amazing piece of gear
The tones are bang on and amazing. Love your channel and videos.

That Rust in Peace tone is amazing, the other ones were also insane ofc
I’ve had an ax8, my guitar partner had a kemper they sounded great but the moment you hit the war is my Shepard riff… holy crap and the rust tone Hot damn… I love real amps but these tools are now better in many situations
The Rust tone is identical 100%! Playing was damn fine too dude \m/
Great vid as always, love the old skool skateboard colletcion :)
Feck me sideways with a rubber duck.... That rust in peace tone dude.... Riffs played so dam tight too 🤘🏻
Imagine lambchopper presets 🫨🫨🫨🫨
Thanks mate, I’m totally onboard here 🤘🏻
I have been waiting for this!!!!!
Sounds killer
Awesome vid as usual 😊
Where'd you get your shirt? 😁🤘
My sister in law got it for me on holidays in the US
hey lamb, awesome video! the quad cortex is definitely on my wishlist now. what kind of headphones are you using?
Thanks mate Roland RH300
Megafish deserves its own episode for both rhythm and lead. I also hope there is a CAE 3+se model for countdown.
I’d love to incorporate rhythm and lead but Marty’s leads we’re done with a BK Butler real tube 2. I need that preamp 👌🏻
Wicked video.

They’re definitely coming but I want them bang on🤘🏻

great vid class tunes
Wish I had the cash to get one of these. I might just get the little tonex pedal that just came out. 😊
Well I'm rather partial to pedals and heads. I don't have time for computers and menus diving....I'm lucky to be able to play once a week on my gear...oh the joys of fatherhood!
Right there with ya. I sent a tonex one back and got an ocd and much better for me lol
Digging It 🤘🔊
You're a beast Lamb! Wanted to give like but there are 666 atm, gotta comeback later :D
I have one. Wish it had scribble scripts
You should match album tones then sell packs. Just a recommendation (I switched to an fm3 but would have kept it for stuff like that)
That’s the plan but I’m not selling anything, share it all 🤘🏻

Interesting.... I wonder does it do Para EQ's and does it do reverb/delay like Strymon?

Plugin support is happening with 3.0 update by end of June.
Laughed out loud at that thumbnail.
@LAMBCHOPPER, How does neutrals software compare? Do their amp archetypes sound the same? Was thinking about buying Neural DSP software?
I’ve been a huge fan of their plugins for years. They all sound excellent

what seymour duncan does the jackson have? i love your sound
Thanks mate Duncan JB & Jazz TB-4, SH-2
@@LambChopper678 great, I use distortion sh-6 and jazz sh-2 on a PRS SE custom 24. The JB sh-4 seems to be warmer and darker, like 80's classic sound

Definitely such a good unit. I have copied all of my pedals and slowly I am copying all of my friends expensive amps LOL
When they say headroom. Is that referring to gain structure
It’s more about how much more gain and boost the signal can push before it starts farting out
A tweakers DREAM... A simple man's NIGHTMARE. I'm the simple man 🤣
Dude i had one till the ex stole it and sold it. Im a simple guy…i had it setup as a gigantic stomp box cuz idk who to use all that shit lol

How are you able to post songs you play and not get the copy write ban?
You write a declaration that it is for educational purposes with no revenue being claimed. It’s fair use under copyright law.

But, Can it do Pantera? lol
