I mean, it's possible that the stones were actually for Mew, and Mewtwo can use them by virtue of being a clone. It's also possible that Mewtwo's sheer power tweaked some existing mega stone and warped them to fit his purpose. Neither are great explanations, I admit. Feels like they only gave him a Mega because Kanto.
People created Pokémon (probably requiring some control of infinity energy) so what’s to say they couldn’t make a magical stone (that is also mostly infinity energy)
This is a great point. I also enjoy the theory that the X mega stones are man-made. They are too fan-favorite inspired to be real. Also, in the movie with Mega Mewtwo Y, it was a natural evolution, right? like no stone required?
@@kingblizzrd181923 In the movies, all Legendary Pokemon can just Mega Evolve without a stone. But, aside from that, the mewtwo movie was actually meant to tease Mega Evolution, because it as a concept hadn't been released yet, everyone referred to Mewtwo's new form as an "awakened form" I believe.

Major disagree with Pidgey being better than Sperow especially in gen 1 because Sperow gets drill peck the best flying type move in the game at the time (remember fly was 70 base power in gen 1) and has higher attack and speed which is much better than the minimum more bulk the Pidgey evolutions have. Although both are outclassed by Dodrio.

I honestly would have been rather disappointed if it had evolved into a pegaqsus because the entire reason I love it so much was because I love unicorns.
It's been my theory for awhile that the reason Galarian Rapidash is a unicorn rather than a pegasus or even an "alicorn" (was that even a term before MLP?) is due to Galar's UK inspirations. The Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom includes the lion of England and the Unicorn of Scotland, and the latter may explain why Galarian Rapidash (and Ponyta, if we're honest) are unicorns instead of some other horse-related mythical figure. Though if that is the case, it would not explain why neither the Pyroar or the Luxray lines are in the game. Maybe once Isle of Armor and/or Crown Tundra drop.

Hey Toby! It’s different that you’re doing a premiere. I just got the notification lol. But I agree that Alola Dugtrio is very bad despite the inspiration. And aw dude, I love rapidash! You're awesome Toby, but I have one question about this video... Why is there ALOLAN and GALARIAN forms in a KANTO video? Still a great video, just kind of seems strange to not have them in your least favorite alola or galar pokemon list.
Toby! We have beef over some of the Alolan forms you picked, and the Leafeon diss!? Felt it in my soul lol BUT you were absolutely right about Galarian Rapidash. You should design an evolution that gives it wings! :D Love your vids

I actually like Paras because I always remember the one from the anime that kept trying to fight pikachu and losing because it’s so weak. It makes the fact that it is so weak funny and makes getting Parasect feel better.
I never really liked Flareon, it's probably my least favorite eevelution. Back in gen 1, it was the worst eevelution. With it being a physical attacker and generation 1 not having any physical fire moves really didn't help it stand out amongst Jolteon and Vaporeon. Not even amongst the other fire types of gen 1. Even later on when moves like fire fang and flare blitz were introduced, by that time there were other much better fire types, even the older ones were shining brighter than Flareon. If we look at Alolan forms, I really don't like Meowth and Persian's Alonan forms. I get the lore behind them, and while Meowth is slightly cooler and sassier than it's Katonian form, Alonan Persian, on the other hand, I really detest. I love the fact that they made these two dark types, which I wish they added to normal Meowth and Persian (even though it would've made them doubly weak to fighting types) cause it just really fits them. I kinda feel that way as well towards Mega Gyarados and Alonan Diglett + Dugtrio. Their added types really fit with them because of their lore, but their designs I really don't like.
This is a perfect explaination! No need to dial it down! My own top 10 least favorites: 10. Pikachu 9. Gmax Eevee 8. Nidoqueen 7. Machamp 6. Mega Blastoise 5. Alolan Dugtrio 4. Poliwrath 3. Mr. Mime 2. Galarian Rapidash 1. Jynx
Then how it's evolution would look like? And what would it's typing be? Will it steel keep the grass type? (Also I think I will borrow that idea to my Sarmachia region:D ...especially that I kinda needs more ideas for bug types)
I agree that the Pidgey line is better because it evolves twice, but in my current FireRed run, I'm actually using Fearow because between the two of them, Spearow already had a Flying move when I caught it and I needed it to fight Bulbasaur. Fearow isn't too bad, though.
I think that it's a fine video Toby; it's not too much negativity, though I hope you don't mind if we choose to disagree either. For me: Mega Mewtwo X makes sense because Mewtwo is an artificial Pokemon. and during close combat situations, Mega Mewtwo X would make more sense. Having 2 different Mega's give it a much better battle potential. Mewtwo was made to be the most powerful Pokemon, so giving it 2 forms made it more powerful than any other. Lore wise, it's perfect. Maybe if it were the only mega, I'd agree with you more... but as a second Mega meant to counter it's close combat weakness, giving it a higher variety... I think it's perfect. And for Grimer... doesn't it just fit that the shiny of the original is what became the variant??? Like, it was a Shiny that became more common than the non-shiny... think about what that means scientifically Toby; THAT, I think is interesting. And honestly, I feel that a Dugtrio with hair is just funny and worth it. And I actually like regular Ponyta better than it's Galarian version... just looked cooler and cuter... and it's a flaming horse that you can ride... that's pretty badass... though I do love Galarian Ponyta more than regular Rapidash.. but Galarian Rapidash... just looks weird...
I was hoping that the Galar Rapidash would be either a Pegasus or an Alicorn, but it appears that MLP: FiM would rather keep those form ideas to themselves and allow the "My Little Ponyta" pun/meme instead.
I used to dislike Fearow as well, but when I played Pokémon Red in NY 3DS I didn't encounter a Pidgey until after the Viridian Forest and my Spearow was already leveled up and new like 3 moves, while Pidgey was lvl 2 and only sand-attack. It also made the battles with the rival more personal since we had rival birds as well.
I think it’s a fun video! I’d like to see more if you make more! Personally I don’t think regional Pokémon should count, however it is YOUR LIST! 😊 Thank you for this video! 😁😁
Tangela actually has a quite interesting backstory. It seems to have originally been meant to be a Medusa-like Pokemon. Not only are it's eyes very accentuated, it's vines slightly resemble snakes. Not to mention that it's original name was Meduza, only one letter off from Medusa.
For me, alternate forms are always taken into consideration for my opinion on a single Pokémon, for example ,I love Kantonian Vulipx, but I feel that Alolan Vulpix is a really lazy, but still likable design, so on a list, Vulpix's two forms would balance each other out and bring Vulpix to a point on the list part way between where it's individual forms would, but we all got different ways to do things and you made some solid points mate :) Not really sure about 10 least favourite Kanto Pokémon cuz I'm still working on a list, but I know that Goldeen and Seaking are my least favourite Kanto Pokémon, weird to think about because I LOVE both of these Pokémon Will say though, Parasect is both my favourite Bug type AND my second favourite Grass type after Chespin, also I love Spearow, oddly a lot more than I like it's much less likable evolution, Fearow
That's funny. Because Alolan vulpix (and ninetails) are my favorite regional forms. I just love the change from fire to ice fox. It's just such a shame ice is weak to fire (I think actually it should be the two way around. I mean these types should both damage itself double) and generally weak (Imo ice should rather be one of the strong types, not so much as psychic but still)
How do you find Fearow's design to be uninspired, but like the "bird" pokemon of the pidgey line? The pokemon that is literally just a bird, not a specific type like how doduo is a two-headed ostrich/emu/kiwi mix
I like all Kanto pokes, but My top 10 worst for the Jhoto region are Miltank,Miltank,Miltank,Miltank,Miltank,Miltank,Miltank,Miltank,Miltank, and Miltank.
If you include regional variants and Megas, IMO that defeats the purpose of having a Kanto list because it isn't a purely Kanto Pokemon. We should be talkin' the full OG. Good video, but in the future, maybe by Hoenn, maybe don't include regional forms? Idk, it might just be me
Sunny Con 2020 better not be cancelled because of the alchohol disease. It was fun meeting you last year and you should go again as a fan and not a guest and see how many people recognise you undercover.
Bird Keeper Toby but-but she’s so big and *FLUFFY!!!* (Plus I think the offspring of a Meowth and an Alolan Exeggutor looks way weirder) Haha thanks for the reply and stay safe Toby 💙🐱💙
I hate battling Alolan Muk if I don’t have a good Ground type move handy. Since Gen 7, I’ve played with random Pokemon I hadn’t before, so, even if I knew it was coming, there was no guarantee that I’d have the necessary party or tools to deal with it properly. This is especially the case when I try not to use potions during battle. Then, Zubat, Golbat, and Tentacool just show up way too much for my liking in any game they appear in.
I'm not sure why everyone was so convinced Galarian rapidash was going to be a pegasus...(technically it would have been an allicorn otherwise it would lose the horn for no reason...) Plus, unicorns are the national animal of Scotland, so...
fun fact, due to power creep, newer Pokemon are constantly getting stronger than earlier Pokemon, which is why gen 1 Pokemon are always getting megas, gmax forms, z-moves, etc, its all just to keep up
Mr bird keeper I have an idea for you. I propose you make a video(s) about your multiverse from your main games coming together I imagine a group of people sitting around a table and someone walks in and says “Toby” and around 10 people look up 10 or so, Yous from different realities. As if your games came together in one world
As opposed to most people I actually adore the Spearow line. Fearow is one Pokémon I actually love to use in a play through. I loved using the move Drill Peck on my original one in Yellow Version.
I was with ya until Rapidash! I agree that I’m not a huge fan of normal Ponyta and Rapidash, but I love Galarian Rapidash. The colors remind me of cotton candy, it looks much more like a unicorn, and when it attacks its hair glows and it looks stunning. I used one in my Shield play through named Buttercup and she was a great member of my team. I also think it would have been cool to see a Pegasus Pokémon, but personally I was very satisfied with Galarian Rapidash.
Please do these for the other regions. In no particular order, these are my Top 20 least favorite Pokémon from Kanto not counting regional variants(as of Gen 7): Cloyster, Jynx, Mr. Mime, Zubat, Golbat, Lickitung, Rattata, Raticate, Tentacool, Geodude, Graveler, Paras, Parasect, Farfetch'd, Drowzee, Hypno, Voltorb, Electrode, Exeggcute, and Exeggutor. Dishonorable or honorable mentions go to Goldeen, Seaking, Ponyta, Rapidash, female Nidoran, Nidorina, Nidoqueen, Tentacruel, Shellder, Venonat, and Venomoth.
I agree with your opinion on Galarian Rapidash. I was so excited to see it be the first Pegasus Pokemon, but was disappointed tho I still love it regardless
As far as Spearow goes, Kenya (That Pokemon you were supposed to deliver in Gold/Silver/Crystal HGSS) has almost always made it onto my team. Pidgeotto would always drop off in power and I didn't have the patience for it when I was a kid. When you compare Pidgeotto to Fearow, the option is a lot clearer. Also, Fearow learned Drill Peck... Completely agree about Galarian Rapidash by the way. Like, even the design of the mane and the tail was just off. I would have loved to see kind of a flowing gas like mane filled with stars or something. Give it a real psychic look. Instead it looks like someone took regular Rapidash and gave it knock off MLP hair.
Well just add Rapidash wings, make horn white and longer, change eye colours... and it would really like much like princess Celestia. But honestly? I don't see it as a bad thing.
Tangela has a special place in my heart because our golden retriever dog’s name was Tangela. (She wasn’t named after it though I’m not sure where the name came from) She’s been gone for a decade now but I always remember her when I see the Pokémon Tangela Also another one; Paras has always been memorable to me as well because the name means “the best” in my language which was always funny to me as a kid
Toby hi I love your content and I think your lists are great but with that being said I also love rapidash. Rapidash is in my top ten Pokémon and my favorite fire type Pokémon. It might be Nostalgia because it is my favorite and first shiny but it is a magnificent fire horse. Everyone has their on opinion and I respect that but I just want to say that it is cool as heck in a play through and you can ride it in let’s go so I think you should try it out but it’s your choice. Again every one has their own opinion but I just love rapidash. Now keep making more great content!
I think regional variants and megas shouldn’t be part of gen 1, but the generation it was introduced in. G-Max Eevee is gen 8, Mega Aerodactyl is gen 6, etc. I like this video idea, but I feel like there was too much hating on stuff that wasn’t FROM Kanto. This felt more like a review of regional variants than a top ten least favorite KANTO Pokémon. I think most people agree that a Pokémon like Alolan Exeggutor is an Alolan Pokémon, so seeing only three Pokémon who debuted in the original Red/Blue/Green/Yellow felt like a lie, a ripoff, and I’m not trying to incite a rain of hate here, it felt like clickbait. It’s fine to not like Mega Mewtwo X, but I feel like that belongs in a top ten least favorite Kalos Pokémon video. Is this fair, does that make sense?
For a gigatamax eevee I would make it a type of hydra like pokemon with its 3 original evolution from gen 1 as the head or if that doesnt work at least involve evolution in it gigatamax form in some because it's such a big part of its theme

And I actually like regular Ponyta better than it's Galarian version... just looked cooler and cuter... and it's a flaming horse that you can ride... that's pretty badass... though I do love Galarian Ponyta more than regular Rapidash.. but Galarian Rapidash... just looks weird...
If you catch a pokemon in gen 2, send it to gen 1, and then to bank will it say it was from Kanto or Jhoto?
I was hoping that the Galar Rapidash would be either a Pegasus or an Alicorn, but it appears that MLP: FiM would rather keep those form ideas to themselves and allow the "My Little Ponyta" pun/meme instead.
Definitely not too negative! I loved this video, keep up the good work!
Amazing can’t wait for a part 2
Good video, love your work keep it up.
Was there a pokemon missing here? A-Grimer was #5 and then Spearow was #3?
Tangela actually has a quite interesting backstory. It seems to have originally been meant to be a Medusa-like Pokemon. Not only are it's eyes very accentuated, it's vines slightly resemble snakes. Not to mention that it's original name was Meduza, only one letter off from Medusa.
For me, alternate forms are always taken into consideration for my opinion on a single Pokémon, for example ,I love Kantonian Vulipx, but I feel that Alolan Vulpix is a really lazy, but still likable design, so on a list, Vulpix's two forms would balance each other out and bring Vulpix to a point on the list part way between where it's individual forms would, but we all got different ways to do things and you made some solid points mate :)
Not really sure about 10 least favourite Kanto Pokémon cuz I'm still working on a list, but I know that Goldeen and Seaking are my least favourite Kanto Pokémon, weird to think about because I LOVE both of these Pokémon
Will say though, Parasect is both my favourite Bug type AND my second favourite Grass type after Chespin, also I love Spearow, oddly a lot more than I like it's much less likable evolution, Fearow
I really like this kind of video, it's an opinion piece and I appreciate
Would have just preferred separate lists for all regional variants/Megas. Would like to see your entries just based on the pure, original Pokemon
I like all Kanto pokes, but My top 10 worst for the Jhoto region are Miltank,Miltank,Miltank,Miltank,Miltank,Miltank,Miltank,Miltank,Miltank, and Miltank.
Yes
Honestly Miltank isn't that bad. There's a lot of Jotho Pokémon who are worse
Cough cough *Stantler* cough.
Keep dishing out that Pokesalt Toby, I love it.
If you include regional variants and Megas, IMO that defeats the purpose of having a Kanto list because it isn't a purely Kanto Pokemon. We should be talkin' the full OG. Good video, but in the future, maybe by Hoenn, maybe don't include regional forms? Idk, it might just be me
Don't worry. It's just you giving your opinions. It's not much negativity!
Keep up with the videos. they are always fun to watch
You make great vids, but I can't believe you would diss Terry the Tangela like that....
Sunny Con 2020 better not be cancelled because of the alchohol disease. It was fun meeting you last year and you should go again as a fan and not a guest and see how many people recognise you undercover.
5:06 Oi Toby! Paras, in my native language, literally translates to " THE BEST" XD
Saw the stream earlier keep up the great content
Why is Eevee in the thumbnail?! *I call shenanigans!* 😤😤😤
Haha thanks for another great vid Toby, stay safe dude 💙🐱💙
Gmax Eevee!
Bird Keeper Toby but-but she’s so big and *FLUFFY!!!* (Plus I think the offspring of a Meowth and an Alolan Exeggutor looks way weirder)
Haha thanks for the reply and stay safe Toby 💙🐱💙
I agree so much with G. Rapidash, I really wanna hear the rest so that I can maybe hear what you have to say about some of my favourites lol
Magikarp: Am I a joke to you?
No that’s why I love Magicarp haha
Fearow was not only my first full odds shiny Pokémon but also my second! I caught two full odds of them in Gen 3, so I have a soft spot for it :)
I'm not sure why everyone was so convinced Galarian rapidash was going to be a pegasus...(technically it would have been an allicorn otherwise it would lose the horn for no reason...) Plus, unicorns are the national animal of Scotland, so...
fun fact, due to power creep, newer Pokemon are constantly getting stronger than earlier Pokemon, which is why gen 1 Pokemon are always getting megas, gmax forms, z-moves, etc, its all just to keep up
My partner initially thought Alolan Grimer was a shiny Kantonian Grimer when she hatched one in Pokemon Go haha
Pleade do all the regions, its great to hear things you dont enjoy about the series, makes it really grounded
In no particular order, these are my Top 20 least favorite Pokémon from Kanto not counting regional variants(as of Gen 7):
Cloyster, Jynx, Mr. Mime, Zubat, Golbat, Lickitung, Rattata, Raticate, Tentacool, Geodude, Graveler, Paras, Parasect, Farfetch'd, Drowzee, Hypno, Voltorb, Electrode, Exeggcute, and Exeggutor.
Dishonorable or honorable mentions go to Goldeen, Seaking, Ponyta, Rapidash, female Nidoran, Nidorina, Nidoqueen, Tentacruel, Shellder, Venonat, and Venomoth.
Is it possible m-mewtwo x came about because of the scrapped berserk gene 🧬 item??
I think your Scorbunny plushie caught the corona virus.
I love the ponies but was let down when Galarian Rapidash wasn't an alicorn.
I agree with your opinion on Galarian Rapidash. I was so excited to see it be the first Pegasus Pokemon, but was disappointed tho I still love it regardless
The energy in this video is the perfect amount.
Btw, I like Mega Mewtwo X's design, but I hate its official artwork.
I feel regional variants should be included with the region the come in, just imo
The number of times Toby apologizes for being negative is truly precious
How dare you insult Terry. Hasn’t Brian suffered enough?
Isn’t alolan muk’s coloring a reference to how oilspills look on water? You know, all rainbow-colored?
(She wasn’t named after it though I’m not sure where the name came from) She’s been gone for a decade now but I always remember her when I see the Pokémon Tangela
Also another one; Paras has always been memorable to me as well because the name means “the best” in my language which was always funny to me as a kid
2:03 - "Hey, everyone, it's a pleasure to be on your show today!"
Perfection😁
Nice
I swear I heard somewhere that Tangla is actually the spirit of the children who drowned.
Mega Aerodactyl: How Dare You
FORGIVE me toby, your theories are really interesting
Toby hi I love your content and I think your lists are great but with that being said I also love rapidash. Rapidash is in my top ten Pokémon and my favorite fire type Pokémon. It might be Nostalgia because it is my favorite and first shiny but it is a magnificent fire horse. Everyone has their on opinion and I respect that but I just want to say that it is cool as heck in a play through and you can ride it in let’s go so I think you should try it out but it’s your choice. Again every one has their own opinion but I just love rapidash. Now keep making more great content!
He hates Terry the Tangela!!
GO all out dude, roast 'em pokes!! >:D
Great video, dude!
Can you do a top 10 megas and/or top 10 worst megas?
I like to see your opinions keep doing these please
