George, a short view back to the past. Thirty years ago, Niki Lauda told us ‘take a monkey, place him into the cockpit and he is able to drive the car.’ Thirty years later, Sebastian told us ‘I had to start my car like a computer, it’s very complicated.’ And Nico Rosberg said that during the race - I don’t remember what race - he pressed the wrong button on the wheel. Question for you both: is Formula One driving today too complicated with twenty and more buttons on the wheel, are you too much under effort, under pressure? What are your wishes for the future concerning the technical programme during the race? Less buttons, more? Or less and more communication with your engineers?
Considering his performances lately i wouldn’t be surprised if he’s just testing how broadcasting is when he inevitably finds himself explaining the same video but without an actual merc seat.
@@davidchapman3042 get a grip. people were saying the same thing of lewis when he was crashing all over massa over a decade ago... and look at him now. i literally don't get your bitter hate towards george.
As a casual sim racer, I really appreciate George's explanations -- particularly of steering wheel settings -- very concise, and easy to understand for the layman.🙂 Cheers, mate.
I mean, sometimes he does get caught up in the moment when he's racing and very much gets a big head, but other than that yeah, I definitely agree with you, he's great.
We need more deep technical discussions from drivers. It's great to see how much they actually know especially since most of the times they are speaking, it's answering the standard "how will you go out there?" unfulfilling questions that pretty much all media ask them.
i legit don't get why he gets so much abuse. he says some things over race radio that can be a bit firm... but that's the same with literally every driver, so why is he getting singled out over it?
@@22NightWingsome fans are just stupid, they like to hate on certain drivers but no matter the hate I know that George can keep his head focused and bring good results for the team. Hope he will do even better next year. He’s world champion material for me
I knew all this information already, but I love that this information is put out there for newer fans to the sport. Everyone is new at some point and having the driver explain themselves these things, makes it interesting. Great way to connect with the fans.
This was incredibly well done! George did an amazing job explaining these things in simple terms that an everyday person can understand. Very well done!
Since he explained the steering wheel and the race sit, I actually learned everything from what he said about them❤. This is a useful explanation George thank you for explaining this epic things about F1.
Love this from George! Also makes it even more insane that Grosjean managed to get out with out serious injury given he had to unbuckle 3 buckles in a fireball 🤯
George is one of the those athletes that you just love, he seems like a very nice, chill and approachable guy he is up there with the likes of Daniel Ricciardo, Kaka, Kante, and Gigi Buffon!
It’s so incredibly fascinating how they basically have to fiddle around a complex steering wheel like that while going 300 mph or whatever speed they go. And on top of having to know what you’re pressing, you’re doing so while paying attention to the road, bumpy ride, and thick ass gloves. Damn
Thanks to Michael Schumacher, we have this many buttons today. in 1995 it was only a wheel with 3 or 4 buttons. From 1996 on, he got more and more buttons from year to year and every team copied it. Now we have space ships. Tbh, I would like to see the wheels with only 3 buttons again, so the drivers can concentrate on driving and fighting.
Clearly not enough about the wheel, but this is the first time I found out what STRAT settings are used for. Lol…also, I had assumed semi automatic DRS deployment.. so the driver has to do this manually? And turn it off at the end? Fascinating.
Maybe im the only one. But i thought DRS was automated. The cars are so high tech and connected and there are DRS zones. So just presumed if you're within a second of the car ahead the DRS would activate? Only reason I could think of for not wanting it to open is if you're behind a teammate and team orders are to stay there? Any other reasons people can think of?
With the 6 connections for lifting the seat with driver in. How do they get the legs past the cockpit opening? Do they need to take the halo and some bodywork off?
Dear Sky Sport or Mercedes AMG Team! i Just saw that so many times Russels watch is stopped to show the 9:10 as the smiling watch effect on the IWC even the second hand is stopped, is it a direct effect a.k.a easter egg?

I read that into that guy's voice 😂.. Brilliant
George will be a future Sky presenter after F1 for sure
I kinda want to see him be a Top Gear presenter with Lando and Alex. lol

loving it. I love how George always keeps it lighthearted and doesn't take himself and the things he does too seriously.

I can watch 3 hours of this and more, going through the whole car
GR is actually a brilliant presenter. 👍
I think he will also be a great commentator in 20 years!
That’s one of the reasons why he can join the Mercedes junior program 😂😂😂😂
And he didn't bring his slides this time.
should‘ve made a ppp
Guess that's part of the reasons Toto was sold
The transitions😂 but honestly all the buttons are alot for me so i always love watching these videos to help
George is a good communicator and educator.
Loved this , George wonderfully explains things. 👏 Great job.
George was the best when explaining everything compare to other drivers.

I imagine him, like Jenson Button or David Coulthard, or Rosberg.. After his retirement, taking post race interviews or commenting about the drivers.
George is really man of words
There was so much more about the steering wheel (like the different shift pedals); we only saw 50%...but still nicely explained :)
The best and detailed explanation of the seat and steering works. Thanks George 👍
George explained this so well
Since he explained the steering wheel and the race sit, I actually learned everything from what he said about them❤. This is a useful explanation George thank you for explaining this epic things about F1.
Thanks GR❤ good to see him as a teacher explaining cool tech stuff!
Never knew about the rescue clips good idea really! Actually quite good George is at explaining things
Bro George killed it 😂. Super nice. Future instructor in the making. Super clear.
I was actually hoping to see George explains the "Magic Button". :D
And the Jenson Button
He's a great presenter! Would love to see more of the drivers giving technical lessons.
Perfect explaination George. Thanks! Hope to see you winning some races next year. Top performer!
Thank you for doing this George and great insight into the cars set up keep them coming!!
Love this from George!

Crikey!
He loves himself
Mans did a phenomenal job. Smoothing voice, great explanations. He need a part two
thanks for explanation and good luck with the new season in W15
I enjoyed the transitions almost more than the actual presentation.
Excellent explanation from George. So clear & easy to understand.
WE LOVE THESE KINDS OF VIDEOS 😅
I wasn't expecting to watch this video as often as I did. I just love listening to him. ❤
Awesome video, thank you! George is great at explaining things
Informative...
Thanx G....
Awesome video. Thank you George :) High five from Norway
George is one of the most well spoken and intelligent drivers on the grid explains everything concisely and calmly future sky sports presenter

All these buttons you need to press as your racing top speeds with instant reaction times must be mental
Very interesting. It’s impressive how much brain capacity is required to do lap after lap and make all those wheel setting changes.
This guy is a natural 🙌🏼
"There are so many different buttons"
"...Gentlemen, a short view back to the past..."
this was suprisingly well explained
George driving position like the mandem in endz

Really liked this one! I'm trying some new wheel setups on my racing-rig and this video gave me some new ideas. :)

The DRS closes automatically as soon as the driver touches the brakes.
I thought DRS was auto too, but that's probably from playing the F1 game.
Only been watching for a few years and honestly thought the DRS was an automated system, great stuff!
Such a great explanation on each and every key detail🙌🙌
This is actually very nicely explained
This reminds me of Show-and-Tell back in grade school
very well explained.
best presenter ever nice george russell
Best driver presenting the car since Jenson Button tbh
I love this kind of content thank you
George's a good teacher.
Good job George!

no rockets, only red and blue shells
Wow, GR has what it takes to be a presenter, narrator. Yeah, I know that it mostly depends on script, but his voice tho ✨👌🏻
Been a minute since I cared about F1. But my boy George here makes me interested again
George didn't bring PowerPoint. Imagine if he did.
He did,but they stole the flash drive and threw it away😊
he can easily become a presenter after retiring
Finnaly someone who explains BBALthank you George
good info nice display of gear and equipment however the modelling shots transitioning i found it irritating
Russell favourite ❤
he could be a great tutor lol
I like him the most when he doesn’t talk at all ..and just leaves the seen 👋🏼

Today on Sky: Geogie makes a sexy Astera lighting ad.
lovee the presentation
Mercedes has the best uniforms 🤌🏽
excellent presentation
Scandalous!
Great video.
I can help but notice everyone saying how good a presentor he is, and don’t get me wrong I agree!
But where is the POWERPOINNNT?!
Mate, the W13 and W14 haven’t been giving +30 kph with DRS. We’ve been one of the least effective DRS on the grid
not even one stutter. a true king 😂
Jesus that blew my mind😂😂😂😂
What i find to be interesting is that when a steeringwheel is explained they never talk about the clutch and the biting point etc.
get this man a larger table and chair XD
Incredible video ngl
