Looking at the Asteromorphs final form and the Qu, I won't be surprised if the Qu are revealed in the All Tomorrow remake to be former humans from distant pasts (Like the Prometheans from Halo)

In the space stage, there is a item that you can unlock and buy that lets you edit any species that you want, as long as that species is not anywhere above creature stage, so you can literally do what the Qu did and edit species as your messed up desires wish.
I would love to see a sequel to Spore with attention to detail about different adaptations based on their location. Essentially the ability to make different races of your species and overall just visual divergences. Colonize the whole planet and develop specific cultures and niches. It would be an incredible amount of work to make a game like this but it could be super interesting
