    So valuable. After seeing this video I realize one can replace a SINGLE Fan Assembly for much less than Replacing an ENTIRE FLOOR.

    I bought this replacement part for our 11 yr old LG fridge, about $50. We began getting the code that indicated the fan was bad. This is a great video, very well done, and we followed it step by step to replace the part. Although the fridge in the video is a Kenmore, our LG was exactly the same. We did it in about an hr. Or just over. Thank you so much for the well done video and saving us a good amount of money.

    Thanks for the excellent how to video and the proper parts!
    I replaced both fans because I was in there anyway.
    There is now the sound of silence in our kitchen.

    Great video. Made the job easy. Turns out the old (now replaced) fan was iced up. Hardest part was reinstalling the cross bar as the little bar tab kept turning.

    Thanks so much! I ended up buying this part and it was not the right one, I simply replaced the motor, fan, and gasket into the housing I removed and it was a perfect fit for my LG. Back to ice cold drinks!

    Thank you so much for this great video! So we've already defrosted the freezer after getting E & 1F error code but error code is still showing up. Fridge is getting cold, freezer is keeping things frozen but could it be the ice maker cooling fan or motor is broken? The fan on the left had an ice build up that could've burned the fan or motor out I'm guessing. I'd greatly appreciate if you could guide me what to check next and how to proceed🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

      @@appliancepartspros Thank you for replying! It's LMXS30796S, 5 years old and we had to defrost only after 2 years and it's been making the fan noise again a while but we've been delaying to go through this nightmare to defrost again until this error code. What's wrong with LG?? Do you hear others having issues with ice build up? Such an expensive fridge with a stupid problem! We had another LG fridge without an ice maker before this one and never had an issue. We also have another LG fridge without an ice maker and never had an issue either all these years. Something to do with fridge with an ice maker??

    • @appliancepartspros
      @appliancepartspros  6 місяців тому +1

      That error code indicates an issue with the ice fan. But if your evaporator coils are frosting over, that would be a defrost issue. If you have a defrost issue you will need to check the defrost thermostat and defrost heater, if those are good then you will need to replace the control board. You can contact us at 1-877-477-7278 if you have more questions.

      @@appliancepartspros Thank you so much! The fact error code shows E & 1F I hope it's only the actual fan but the ice build up causing the fan to burn out so we need to figure out what's causing it. I'll have my husband test each one you mentioned (will have to binge watch UA-cam videos of how to test) and hopefully figure this out. It definitely causing us unnecessary stress and wonder if any other LG French Door w/ Ice maker owners experiencing the same. Thank god at least it's cooling and freezing in the middle of 100F weather in Central California! Thank you again and I'll reach out if we have further questions🙂

      @@appliancepartspros Just wanted to update, our error code disappeared after a few days. We were sure we were going to have to disassemble again and figure out the problem but it was freezing and chilling properly so we waited a few days then error code disappeared. Just wanted to follow up in case others are going through the same situation to maybe wait a few days before taking it apart again if fridge is working OK but error code persists after defrosting.

    When I got the FI error code, both the ice maker AND the water dispenser stopped working. Do you feel that a new blower fan may solve both problems

    Thanks for posting! I got back from a few days out of town and my LG was growling loudly from time to time, and eventually got this error. I tried hitting it with a blowdryer, then blowing the blowdryer into the vents, then I took it all apart like you have detailed here to see if it was iced over still. There was no ice on the inside, and it spun freely. I put it back together and I am still getting the code. The fridge has two icemakers and the one down below in the freezer functions but the one in the door does not. Unplugging the fridge resets it for awhile but the code always comes back. Any ideas of what might be causing the problem? Does the fan need to be replaced? There appears to be two fans in there when I take off the back panel, which is which and which should I look at to replace? Or is it the icemaker in the door that is the issue? I feel like it's either that or being frozen burnt out the fan after awhile since we were gone and didn't hear it. Any advice appreciated!
