    Detailed, step by step video and commentary made this an easy DIY job to replace the fan motor. Every step was clearly demonstrated. An excellent “how to” video. The only question is why does LG install such an important component as this fan motor with a long shaft with no bearing or bushing support so that it is due to fail often and completely as evidenced by the number of replies to this video?

    This was a WONDERFUL help. I am a trainer and this video was easy to follow, articulate and very well done! I was able to follow your step-by-step video and do it myself. I saved the $150 fee for a repairman to diagnose my fridge issues, along with the labor costs to replace the evaporator fan. By ordering the fan myself online, I also saved 50% on the product. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

    I emptied out freezer, used hair dryer on back panel, fan vents for about 10 to 15 minutes, dried everything. Checked after, it started working normal, no noise.

    Great video. I was able to slide the back panel out without removing the side rails. If you have an ice maker there are two fans. The one I bought off Amazon had the wrong plug end on it. Defrost your freezer first then plug it back in and see if it’s just ice buildup that was my issue, ice seized the fan up.

      Exactly the same here. I’ve just had to put it all back together with the old fan motor

    Hello, it is not only explains how to change the motor, they also explain what the diagnosis is, why you have to change the freezer fan motor, first I diagnose them on the temperature screen, which error and where and then go back to the error and diagnosis tables the error is when the temperature screen is marked er ff if you have to change the freezer fan motor it is a clarification for people who have to see first what is the problem that diagnoses the temperature screens thanks👍 sorry only speak Spanish

    How do I know if the problem is my evaporator fan motor? I've had a new compressor, new control board, evaporator coils, condenser, 3 way valve replaced, and the refrigerator still doesn't cool. The refrigerator does but not the refrigerator. Thank you!

    Awesome video!
    Where to purchase the motor ? Or how to find a local LG parts dealer ?
    Thanks

    Pay attention. With an LG you will need to complete this operation a few times. I know. I have an LG.
    Good thing I kept my old refrigerator to hold the food while I perform this yearly repair.

      Great I did a lot of research to figure this out. I lost 500$ or more freezer food. LG = Junk when it comes to this unit.

    • @robertbrandywine

      Depends, I guess. I have an LFC25776** that ran without problems for 10 years until yesterday when the condenser fan motor went out. The evaporator was completely free of ice though.

      @@robertbrandywine how do you know it's the evaporator fan that is bad? What are the signs or troubleshooting techniques? Thanks!

    • @StanCan
      @StanCan 12 днів тому

      Yes, exactly. Why does LG install a (relatively) long shaft motor that is so critical to operation without a stabilizing bearing or bushing to prevent the fan from binding and eventually motor burn out? The motor cost $200 and it would have been a $500 bill if I had a tech do the replacement. Ridiculous!!

      We’ve previously had 4 fridges over 40 years and only one of those crapped out completely. But that one ran for more than 20 years. We changed residence 3 times in the past few years and the others are still running as far as I am aware. Then there’s this model. Great layout and conveniently stores a lot of food but a real pain when the evaporator motor fails, and sounds like Ryan happens often. The entire fridge sounded like it was going to crater before I changed out the fan motor.

    Theres a red, purple, blk wire, which two do you test? The black is ground right? So if you put 110v to the red and purple wire will it work or not to test fan?

    • @mikegraham2223
      @mikegraham2223 Рік тому +1

      I don't know which wire is which, but apparently it is a DC fan, and on the side it reads 13 volts, so if you put 110V to it, you will definitely smoke it.

  • @jimkane9832
    @jimkane9832 3 роки тому +1

    How do you test to know if it's the motor or the control board?

    • @TheBasedNib
      @TheBasedNib Рік тому

      I took out the multi air flow from the fridge and looked down. It's a bit of a hassle because there's a lot of tape so do it with caution.

    Why not access through the back panel?

    • @robertbrandywine
      @robertbrandywine 2 роки тому +1

      Because the evaporator fan is not in the back.

    • @mikegraham2223
      @mikegraham2223 Рік тому +1

      You can see the condenser fan motor at the back, not the evaporator fan.
