    I often ask myself during bad practice rounds "why do you even play this sport?"

      I ask myself this during every round. Usually I say I suck at this sport around that same time.

    I literally had a conversation the other day on the course with my buddy in regards to exactly what this video addresses. I’ve struggled with figuring out what disc, what shot and what line is best for me and doing that in a timely manor as you want to respect other players time too especially in a tournament. Once again you’ve answered questions before I had the opportunity to reach out and ask. Thanks man, keep this going and smoke chains on Saturday man, you got this!!

    Sometimes I like to ask where the first tee is. I also practice making sure my lighter works and my beverage opens. Playing a tournament w/o ever having seen the course, keeps it interesting. Thanks for another vid Robbie!

    At 12:16 in the video on #3 teepad, something flew out of your bag when you slung it over the shoulder. But I'm guessing you found out by now.

    Really enjoy your content Robbie. Keep it coming. Had to chuckle about your comments about it being cold and playing in an Ice Bowl when there is no ice for hundreds of miles around. For our Ice Bowl a couple of weeks ago, we had Temps of about 0F and 2 feet of snow. It was a great event. You play what you're dealt.

    Thanks for sharing the practice round thoughts. Looking forward to seeing the video next week. Hope it goes well and that you have a great time. Don't forget to smile on those parts even though it's hard to do when it's cold.

    I’ll give you a bit of advice in the winter time. Don’t blow on your hands there’s moisture in your breath. That moisture gets trapped in your skin. If it gets cold enough, it will begin to freeze and it sucks. Obviously gloves really are an option. So hand warmer is definitely the way to go.

    Good video. I tailor my practice rounds to my strengths and weaknesses and only go for the lines/shots that have the smallest margin of error, use the disc least susceptible to user error.

    I use those exact Lunas as neutral/understable throwing putters, the thing is the high speed turn and pan is tremendous while they rarely burn over and the fade at the end is very reliable! PS: On a hyzer flip they go nearly as far as my midranges.

    Hey Robbie. What i really would like to hear is your approach to coming back mentally after a shanked shot in a tournament for example. Lost my last tournament in the second round (having a 5 stroke lead), but after my first really bad shot it took me like 4 or 5 holes to get back into shape and i lost with 2 strokes behind first. Most people say things like oh just dont mind just reset and play the next hole, but it is actually really difficult for me. How do you approach that?

    • @nathanfrazier8525
      @nathanfrazier8525 2 роки тому +1

      For me if I have practiced that shot and know I can hit that shot and I shake it then it's a fluke. It's a 1 in a 100 chance that I'll make that mistake. I can't fault myself for doing that. Now if it was a risky shot that I'm debating and it doesn't work out well then I'm a dummy 😜.

    • @philippundso2975
      @philippundso2975 2 роки тому

      @@nathanfrazier8525 Hmm true thing. I knew i started the round with a lot of space and my first drive was nearly perfect, but then i got a bogey and in my head i was like now i f'ed it up and from then on i threw like a rock. Surely i learned on that day, but i have a long way. It is crazy how big of a part the mental plays in discgolf.

    Try taking a knee on those downhill putts on the second hole. Helps me to get more level with the basket so that I can throw a similar line as my putt on flat ground. Enjoyed the video, thanks ✌️

    I like the insight here. I definitely forget to hydrate period dot unless it’s blazing hot or I’m sweating.
    How would you prepare for a tournament if you can’t play the course prior to the tournament day? Would you look on UDisc and see what holes matches something at your local course or just look at UDisc and the layout and try to envision the shot or disc choice based on the geospatial look?

    Nice video. I find I practice the same shot too much instead of picking multiple lines and testing. Since you're throwing a more open bag I suggest the Muse (and a lot mofre Thought Space Athletics) for your putting putter if you like a base plastic putter similar to the Luna. Cooler stamps and available in both super grippy and firmer plastics for like $12-$15 on most sites!

    Went for a practice round yesterday. 1) do not invite friends unless they are playing the same tournament. I had to change from practice round to enjoy the moment.
    2) big question...how do we keep fun in the practice and in tournament play? Are we too serious?
    BTW MA3 RATED 850

    Pro tip, don't breath on your hands to warm them. It transfers moisture to them, which then evaporates pulling more heat away from the hands.
    Instead, rub your hands together, bring hand warmers or throw with a glove depending on what works for you.

    Dang it I keep forgetting you can practice before tournaments.. also what do you do when the answer to "Do I have what this shot requires" is "no" 🤔 (asking for a friend)

    • @kieronmckay4276
      @kieronmckay4276 2 роки тому

      Do whatever is your most comfortable shot that is likely to work the best that you do have. That'll give you practice identifying alternate lines. And if every single line is a "no" well you now know what to practice and just throw it and have a laugh 🤷‍♂

    • @stuartschwenke6656
      @stuartschwenke6656 2 роки тому

      Keep it in the fairway. Play the dhot that give you the best outcome. Some times a bogey is the best outcome. Accept that. BUT learn from others. I am amazed at any given course how many different lines there are.
