Yo, it was a royalty free track inspired by the Stranger Things intro. I'll find the name of it next time I'm on my PC as it's on my external hard drive
Saints Row 3 is the Resident Evil 4 of the saints row franchise, not a true saints row game but a fun wacky divergence of the series.... and i dont mind it all, it was pretty fun.
Saints Row 3 was a fun game and unique. Saints Row 2 is a classic and it was grounded. Although, I don't mind the wackiness of Saints Row 3. Part 4 was even more wacky but a fun game.
I can't believe how much thought space is wasted worrying about the continuity of Saints Row lore. And the fact that people are upset about the 'tastelessness' of the humor. Like, let's face it, Millennials have never had good taste nor good sense, so why choose Saints Row as your hill to die on. It's frankly ridiculous. The developers noticed what customers liked about SR2, tried to please them more, and over-did it, and that's about as far as I think a reasonable opinion would go. I'm glad we had this series (until the reboot totally sucked the life out of it) until 4, because I can't stand GTA, which is I think the most over-rated thing in entertainment of all time. So I can enjoy similar gameplay in the early Saints Row game, without the unbearable 'takes itself too serious' BS of GTA.
Tbh Sr3 was the start of the series split. It really wasn't SR anymore, it didn't really build off of 2 too much, its a bit bland after you've played it thru at least once and its not the type of game you would keep coming back to and play all the way thru over the years. But ima always say it was fun and i have some real good memories with it and i like a lot of the ideas they had (even tho most didn't go anywhere too interesting, like the whole Phillipe shit, properties and any real type of development for the new Saints lieutenants) but its just no real fun on repeat playthroughs since its overly jokey the whole time and after like 2-3 playthroughs, u seen and heard everything and it gets annoying cuz they never let you breathe with the jokes and be serious. The Sr vibe isn't even there completely. If anyone wants to add on or rebuttal, im down to have a chill conversation but i been typing too damn long so it's somebody else turn to talk lol
@@dmdudes2 yeah i mean i try to play all the games at least once a year but with 3, i always find myself sick of it by the time of Johnny's funeral and end up goin to a different game. It just isn't as captivating as other games in the genre. Like the time i spend just fuckin around in SR1 and 2 (causing mayhem, exploring, customizing and shit like that) not even really doing anything can last up to a good few hours and I'll still be having fun but with 3, i can get bored in like half an hour. There just isn't much more to this game besides sex jokes and blowing stuff up. And honestly, my attention span is not that short for that to be satisfying. There's just a lot more fun to be had in other games than could be had in 3. Not to say it isn't fun, there's something there, it just isn't enough to keep me there, ya feel me? I’ve fallen into the rabbit hole of your videos. I love your approach to your reviews and have even watched some multiple times. I hope to eventually see you review Sleeping Dogs. Keep up the great work.
Saints Row 3 was the first game of the series that I played. As as someone who used to play GTA:SA with cheats, I loved it. I couldn't have nowhere near as half of the fun in GTA:V as I did in Saints Row 3. At that time the comparisons between the two franchises were inevitable and the absurdness of Saints Row 3 won the battle for me!
My main problem with the consistent tone argument, is that, its much more realistic to have an tone that is inconsistent as sr2 than it is to have a 100% consistent tone over the same timeframe, the 100% consistent tone only works if its a small amount of time, like 1 night, or you're depressed, or you're just angry 100% of the time, or something similar
I feel like creatively 2 is better but technically 3 is. I still feel that overall 2 is the better game but the hate some fans give 3 as a means to prove fan credentials is bizarre.
3 is just a bad game. Most of the missions in the game are the activities from 2, the "gangs" aren't separate entities, and it's extremely corny. No one is trying to get fan credentials. People just have an issue that the worst game gets praised. It's objectively a downgrade in every way but the graphics and some mechanics.
I agree with the guy above. Saints 3 is just a bad game. The gameplay is VERY good though. The animations and feel are top tier. But the gameplay sucks tbh. Dumb weapons and bullet sponge enemies. As for the missions? Trash. 60% of the missions are just boring forced activities. The pacing is trash. After 2 missions you have unlimited attack helicopters and predator drone missiles. There’s no challenge. No build up. The map sucks. So bland and boring. Empty bs. Stilwater has so much variety and detail. So many enterable buildings
I had fun with SR3, but it wasn’t Saints Row. To me, it’s best played pretending it’s not part of the series imo lol Tbh, I just spent a lot of time on zombie island causing chaos.

I'm probably in a good position sort of, having no nostalgic attachment to the Saints Row games before 3. It was the first one i played and god did i love it. Great video man. Really made some great points and addressed the core gameplay and fun aspects of the game as opposed to other videos I’ve seen on SR3. I’ve been going hard on this game lately never got to play it when it originally came out but I love this remaster. The problem was the wacky had been put into the story. Before it was mostly in the Activities you played to get respect... whereas in SR 3 you can do the story and only have to touch on each one once. What was a brief respite from gang warfare became the only thing the game had to offer.
SR3 has a (W)horde mode where you just shoot waves of enemies, and going by this review I assume it was one of the better parts of the game for you?
I have 3 remastered and at night it's dark af and it's making it to where I can't play it and this is my first time playing it, I ha e a series x and I tried tweaking the game brightness and AL it does is make the building lights brighter the dark areas are still so dark I can barley see my character.
Saint row 3 on switch is the first 1 i played and i love it. The only down thing and you mension it aswel you go from combat to combat and sometimes i wanne slow down a bit like with gta with some taxi mission for example.
Great video
1st saints row game i played
10:06 I thought it was just me. Yep, that was tacky.
the mature story from 2 would be looked at now very positively if it came out today
it was never great. Just destroyed the saints.
never was great honestly
This. It's extremely dumbed down from what we got in 2 and has tutorial missions as 70% of the story.
@@SCA84 a lot of the missions are just activities that you're forced to do and the city itself was disappointing. In comparison to the first two games in the series, sr3 falls short in several ways.
I hated 3 I know alot of people think 4 killed the series I genuinely thought it was the 3rd one because it's a game that doesn't know what it wants to be
The saints row 3 sandbox and open world is truly awful, idk how he said it’s the best in the series
SR3 was the lowest point in the series before the reboot
It was never great
Saints Row the Third... more like Saints Row the Turd
Never was.
Jeez you talk about tone problems and you upload a 50 minutes review about a videogame? I'm never gonna watch the full video, it's boring as hell
Then simply don't 🤷♀️
@@CbaDropDeadok meatrider🤷♂️
is Saint row 2022 still a shit game?
