Hi all, I apologize that the announcement for Mary of Teck was removed from my video as it belongs to British Pathé. We love and honor Queen Mary!❤️ - Additionally, The Queen Mother’s playing of the anthem was cut off - and I spelled Prince Philip wrong! I apologize.

One very important member that is missing in this video is Her Majesty Queen Mary of Teck, the Queen of King George V, The grandmother of Queen Elizabeth II. She was the role model of the next two generations of British Monarch. The education she provided, to then young Princess Elizabeth, brought 70 years of stable and peaceful reign of Queen Elizabeth II. She died just right before the coronation of her granddaughter in 1953.

It's been claimed from a few sources that Prince Philip's death was actually very sudden and not expected at that moment. Allegedly he apparently didn't have his family around hom and the Queen was still asleep when it happened.

Elizabeth II will always be remembered. Incredibly brave during the war, had a long healthy loving marriage, she ruled her land with love and compassion, caring for every single person in her land and even out of it when worldly officials appeared. She was humorous and a lover of many sweets, Which would still shock people how someone with such a sweet tooth could have lived so long and healthy like she had (until her final months that is). Then there's the fact that she was the longest living monarch to have ruled. She will forever be remembered. I'm from a small town in the USA and when I heard she had died, I actually cried too because she was a part of my life too in a way, along with possibly the entire world. There won't be another Queen like her. Unless Princess Charlotte acts like her great-grandmother in her older years, which I would ADORE.

I was in college at the time starting my final year and then 3 days later, I received a sudden text from Woody.EXE saying “Queen Elizabeth II is gravely ill, I think you should come home urgently!” I had earlier dismissal from college because of it and then Woody.EXE sent me a text that was very alarming and I was rushing home as fast as I could to be at his side. We both were king and Queen of Wales later that same day and Woody.EXE marked the first Anniversary of his ascension privately with my family around him. It was very emotional on the first anniversary seeing Woody.EXE very upset as he revived this day. He still revives the ascension very frequently

@@r.knight891 I think because the 13 Colonies won their independence sooner than most other parts of the British Empire. (Not to mention the fact that the British monarch is the ceremonial Head of the Commonwealth, something that many Americans would consider returning under the British monarchy.) If it had happened in the late 1800s or the 1900s, then America might have become a Commonwealth member.
As an American myself, I actually would support the creation of an international union of Anglophone countries to promote and preserve the English language much like the OIF does for French. (I support linguistic diversity, but English is one of the most useful languages to know and speak, and its status as an international lingua franca makes such a union appropriate IMO.) At the very least, I want to keep our alliances with Britain, Canada and Australia strong, and an organization like that would help make it stronger yet.

@@r.knight891 As a side note, while Americans today are generally pro-British in their attitudes (myself included), you will still see people every now and then who still hold bitterness over the American Revolution (or in the case or Irish Americans, the various abuses committed by the British when they ruled Ireland). And while it was understandable why a Patriot during the Revolution might have hated Britain, it makes no sense at all today. In fact, I would argue that it's a form of self-loathing. For an American today to hate Britain is to hate their own cultural heritage. Although modern America is a melting pot and should be celebrated for that, its religious, political and social institutions (not to mention, of course its primary language) all trace their origins back to Britain.

    7:30 very iconic announcement, indeed
Here's my story, in my country at midnight, (around 4:30 am at Sept 9, depends of timezones) I opened youtube app on my phone after I played MOBA Game for 1 hour, then my recommendations pops up, then I said, "Is that true?". Then I checked on Twitter and that post was true and it's not joking. Then I watched this video clip announcing that news. Afterwards, at 5:30am, the local news was covering too. Additionally, Memes about the Queen was actually pop up on social media (I remembered JScatts post on Twitter and a Bass drop meme regarding to the Announcement). Now, jokes about the Queen on that day is the meme of the month last September, according to Know your Meme.

@@locoHAWAIIANkane The passed peacefully thing is what is said when people die in bed, whether they go down thrashing around and moaning or not. It isn't ironic. In fact it is what one might expect would come from the recklessness of the paparazzi. It is definitely tragic, though. I had an experience not much different from yours. I hope yours turns out better in the end. You might remember Edward VIII and his brother George VI didn't get along, either. That is often the case with the heir and the spare. Talk about your sibling rivalry! Then there is Charles and Andrew. Elizabeth II crushed her sister's wedding hopes. No way was her mother going to sit still for Margaret's being with a divorcé when Edward VIII made such a hash of everything. My guess is Camilla broke that barrier once and for all. We might even get a Catholic for George. We can be sure he and Charlotte will have some public tiffs. Louis might sit back like his uncle Edward does and watch the show. There's much to be said for being nowhere near the throne, although you can never be quite sure. Look at Victoria.
