  • @Traveling-boomer
    @Traveling-boomer 2 роки тому +13

    And here’s another thing to keep in mind whenever you do a 13 a or an SRRV you’re going to be asked to produce a police record of your history if you have anything on that police record even if it’s a misdemeanor you will be denied a 13 -A even if you’re married and definitely denied an SRRV so if you know you have something on your police record even if it was 30 years ago it doesn’t matter you will be denied either one of those visas for permanent residency so don’t even go through the process I had a couple buddies that had misdemeanors that were decades old and they flat out got denied an SRRV

      @@thaimaxcan you would think they would in the United States they probably do but in the Philippines they want to clean record all the way around I guess they’re thinking is once a bad person always a bad person the people simply don’t change just because it’s three or four decades old I guess they believe if you had the character to do those bad things before a character is something that never leaves you I think that’s their thinking so yeah if there’s anything on that record except for traffic violations I’m sure they don’t care about shit like that but that wouldn’t be on your police record they are looking for misdemeanors theft anything that got you in trouble with the law no that won’t get you kicked out of the Philippines it’ll just keep you from getting permanent residency so you’ll have to keep purchasing and extending the tourist visa

      @rogers4905 2 роки тому

      @@Traveling-boomer Kind of crazy on the clean record for misdemeanors, if your in my age group under 40 crowd and American. Really a flip of the coin whether you got something or not. Everything is electronic now and so many changing laws, including how there enforced, where it doesn't take much to get arrested. I got an underage consumption in marines at a house party for just being there, it is a misdemeanor. Go to a college campus in US could be a Tuesday night, future doctors, police, lawyers will be hammered everywhere. You can get DUI on sleep medication, or asleep in your car. Guess what no long term stay. Old timers didn't have much of a problem of any of this. I've been to PI a couple times, thought about long term stay or longer stay, but can't even consider with all my success and income. It's a decent place, but as non sex pat it's not really worth it when I can just live on beach in Florida.

    Your information was good as I've seen some bloggers giving wrong information about the SRRV .
    someone has already said it's$360 a year fee for normal SRRV which is correct.
    If you want can renew for three years if you want.
    Also with the SRRV you can get a senior discount card if over 60 .
    I have it and it saves money when buying food in restaurants and a discount on dental and prescription medication.

    Do you need some type of fixed address in the Philippines to process the SRRV Visa? I've got 15 moths to go before retirement (hopefully this Covid crap will have run its course by then). My plan is to come for 4-6 months and spend a month in a different Province, different Island, and figure out the best place for me. It looks like my best bet is to limit my stays at first to 5 moths or less, to avoid the outprocessing with imigration.
    I am certainly going to use my DD-214, and get that SRRV Visa going...Thanks for the info Gio and Sean

    2 questions. To get the 13A visa, do I need to provide a complete criminal history or just a background check? On the tourist visa, would a 24 hour out of country trip at 5.5 months be sufficient?

    I’ve looked at the SRRV visa option, but as I don’t intend buying anywhere there, or long term leasing, so I can use the 10 thousand dollars deposit, I’m not sure it’s a viable option, as much as I would like the advantages that come with it. You being much younger Gio, living there full time, and having the much cheaper ex military option, wouldn’t it be a better option for you than keep renewing the tourist visa ?

    Just received my SRRV last week. JRC provided complete service to get it done. I first looked into doing it myself before I knew about JRC. The email I received from the PRA was confusing and complicated so I delayed then heard about JRC from some channel on youtube and contacted them. They made the process very smooth for me and are well worth the $450 I paid for their service. I paid a total of $3000 I think. I'm a vet which lowered the cost greatly. Gio's guest does a good job describing how they helped.

    Has anyone heard anything about extending a tourist visa beyond the 36 month period because of pandemic? I know you are supposed to leave country and then able to return, but for foreigners who are from "yellow" or "red" countries like USA, how can you travel out of country and return without issues? I have been vaccinated and booster shot here. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything from BI. Salamat.

    I processed all documents by myself for 13a visa and do not recall a single document needing my wife's signature. Moreover, family is a Constitutional obligation of the government to protect. So, how can marriage be protected by requiring a spouse on 13a visa be required to exit the country forever when legal separation is lawful under statute? Perhaps, you should check the validity of certain comments about a Filipino spouse's ability to end 13a visa with a Makati or BGC law firm that will go on record in your vlog.

    It is interesting that many expats in Thailand complain about the rules and complexity here but you two have made it clear that the Philippines has its own version of immigration complexity. As we say in Thailand . . . same same but different 🙏. On balance though it sounds like the Philippine retirement visa is cheaper and comes with fewer visits to immigration. If I come to the Philippines on an SRRV visa, Do I need a round trip ticket or can I just pay for a one way ticket? Ticket prices are high now.

    Do they accept a retired law enforcement as military veteran equivalent for SSV?

    13 A to stay permanently in Philippines 🇵🇭 around 10,000 plus. I never checked about becoming a filipino citizens for the requirement and the cost and are long it would take to get it. 13 A is what my wife is taking for me. Because she is my wife I’m in the Philippines 🇵🇭 without paying for one year the visa to stay. Like a break for a year because of the marriage which is nice. I understand 13A is not the most secure if you are not getting along with your wife. She could pull it any time from me because she is the one in charged of my state. Interesting I will look at becoming a Filipino maybe I should get a sun tan to blend better here 😂 thanks for the video

    JRC gets $1050 now... $550 upfront & $500 upon arrival, the other side... So they've doubled in costs?

    13a visa, you are under your wife's thumb. SRRV much better way to go

      if your under your wife's thumb that's your own fault. If she did that she would be saying goodbye to you - and if she would do that it's coming sooner or later anyway. you have alternatives.
