At 15.25. Looking at your valves.. the thicker valve is for the fuel inlet, and the thinner is for the exhaust outlet. I think by the look of it you have them round the wrong way. Im at this stage now on a Lister D. All the forums and other UTube films show the thicker one being the inlet and thin the exhaust valve. Nice restoration so far.

Thanks for the heads up. You're right. I actually put them right off camera. I'll be restoring a little 2hp Briggs engine over the next while so you might find that interesting too.

Endfloat. its odd. i would have thought the thick one was thicker because its burning hotter thus will be the exhaust valve till i read all the forums. It may be over the fuel inlet as its nearer the spark plug thus takes more heat on combustion.. but it does appear the thin is exhaust and the fatter one is fuel inlet. bit odd but thats how it is..😜

@@MetamorphicWonders yeah I thought so too, which is why I went wrong initially. I must remember to do less of that thinking carry on. It'll only get me into trouble!

Is the honing very important ? is the attachment expensive or can you rent them.

The honing tool isn't expensive at all, and definitely worth doing if you have the piston out. Lubricate the honing stones though.

You've certainly got a lot of work on your hands & you are making a cracking job of it. Are you going to strip the old crank/main bearings down? Thank you for recording your progress & sharing it !

If I can get the gib key out, I'll strip the replacement crank to clean and inspect it. I have to make up a tool to remove the key though.
