How Farms Work - We have a Case Magnum 245 and love it we just bought another 275 last week, also was working ground today for 9 hours in ours.
Ethan Weatherhead I have the MX 255 and I like that. it is a good baling tractor and we use it to push snow with a blade on the front.
The Farming Life - ya Magnums and MX tractors are good reliable tractors that are always ready to go.
We use to put Anhydrous on in the fall, but now we put it on with the air drill when seeding. We also used the AgLeader GPS with our old combine but we traded it in this year for a newer one and now we use Trimble.
That will be your best field this year. I like all tractors but love it when they are red.
What a beautiful combination!
Awesome video Ryan, Y'all have a great day
Great vid / GPS on tractor and drone shots. I believe earlier videos HFW / Travis explained the operation of the anhydrous applicator bar during Fall applications. GIH Magnum Tractor is part of Wi Ag equipment used for customer contract applications.
Once again, another excellent video!!!
Man that case is a great lookin tractor been around for years just like the deeres!!!!
really nice editing work you did here made for an enjoyable production. thanks..
Road to 100k keep up the hard work Ryan
Great vid Ryan
Nice thing about getting in a magnum is that it makes you realize how good you have it in a Deere.
Hell that same cab has been around for almost twenty years.
that's a beautiful home in the background
The Magnum is rocking and rollin
Maybe for us non-farmers you could explain how the machinery works and why you are doing what you do. How does the arm apply the anhydrous and why do you apply it to the fields. It would only take a minute and be very helpful to us suburbanites.
Well the anhydrous ammonia is NH3 which is a liquid fertilizer. It's cheap and a good way to get nitrogen into the ground quickly. The bar has shanks which have lines running through them that connect to the NH3 tank. The lines are pressurized and when the bar is in the ground the anhydrous is released. It shuts off when the implement is raised so you are not wasting it.
The magnum operates similar to the new holland or r series deeres. I also assume you know why fertilizer applied.
Steve did a good job. For those wanting some of the rest of the story! Ryan's rig has a few more features. The shanks are disks that work by cutting a slot through the stalks and placing liquid ammonia at the bottom and covering the slot with a small disk. We can't use a disk because we have a firm clay soil.
The ammonia has an attraction for the water in the soil and then the clay's negative charges in the soil. The rig is controlled by computer that turns on the flow when it "gps" maps an area that has not been done. Also the flow rate is dependent on the speed. To make better flow of ammonia there is a refrigeration unit on top to keep it liquid longer because it can have high pressure at field temperatures.
Agriculture is not a simple business unless one does not want to know how farms work!
+Robert Reznik well put. I realized they were disks after I posted the comment. Where I farm we use shanks for the same reason you listed. Being a "dirt farmer" is not as easy as people think.
My dad and I we have John Deere tractors & Case IH Tractors 2 my favorite is a case and we have butter service at dealership at case
I think you need more big tractors for that fields, nice video
Nice footage
Good drone work!
Awesome video thanks! Please make some more!
finally a pretty tractor in Ryans videos all he needs is a massey
glenn s says the with a model a tractor as there profile picture
love that red color Ryan!
new holland t8 is fantastic its a heck of a machine
we have a CASE 340 tractor with a rear tree mulcher attachment and huge manure spreader and a 24 foot HLA snowplow blade to go on the front to plow snow and works awsome a great snow removal tractor
Michael Mac Tavish we have the MX 255 and we use it for bailing
yeah case and kubotas are tractors and made with metal wich is nice
Would like to see you drive one of those some day and get your thoughts on it. I'm guessing the Case and New Holland tractors are probably fairly similar these days now that they are both under CNH. I'm still telling you though, we had a 7210 Magnum which is about 135 hp, and i think was a 1995 model, and it was great. They come in bigger power ranges than that but it was super reliable and probably better or on par for fuel efficiency compared to my uncles 7410 JD, which was less hp as well. Keep up the great content, always enjoy it.
My favorite tractor the magnum 340
finally red on your farm we drive 2 maxxum's on our dairy farm in Holland
Case for life
Thanks for your videos. I would have liked to have known how all the controls and gauges work to make sure of the application was correct and how the tractor negotiated a field that was not square.
Easily the best tractor video you've ever had. Although it looks like they may want to either weight up or load the rear tires.
nice rig
nice video nice tractor
Do you have difficulties correcting the ph after putting down some anhydrous in a no-till field?
How farms work I was just wonder if you guys ever spread manure, and if you do what tractor and spreader do you use
I love case
awesome video =)
is this a no till field if it is how long do have to wait to plant after applying the anhydrous
we run all red but the combine and the drill
what type of NH3 applicator is that? never seen that kind before.
How many units did you put on.
Wonder what the fuel consumption is per acre vs their jd? Even though that 340 is roughly 90 hp more.
if you go nulltill on that field why would you put anhydrous ammonia? you have a lot oh N from the straw? maybe it is better just to spread a liitle of NPK? and about case ih, did you get one with Iveco FPT Cursor 9 engine? cause if you do good luck!
Would you provide additional information on why this field is “no plow” and the “different processes “ no plow” requires.
I have a few questions for you, Ryan: 1) are the injector knives on 30 inch centers? 2) Is the anhydrous placed between the rows or on the rows? 3) I noticed the tractor did some overlapping, I assume it is equipped with automatic row shutoff? Thank you for sharing this video! I thought it was very interesting.
She's a beast ❤️😍😍
+How Farms Work does it have weed killer in it too to keep the weeds down?
What do you think About Steyr good or bad
Boa tarde. A aplicaçao de anidro antes do plantio do milho qual a vantagem. Sul do Brasil
u need to get one @howfarmswork
Love it...
What action does the ammonia take in the fields?
when was this video shot?
How wide is that anhydrous spreader - wow
finally a proper tractor!
This is one of your best videos but only because it has some red
I think you had a very brief shot of a row following the shovel on the machine. The ground looked hard, not loose. And, the row was still very open. Yes, wheels were following, but apparently not with the intention of closing the cut. Since anhydrous was put down as a gas, why wasn't it escaping the cut in the soil? I would think the the machine would insure closure of the cut ASAP to keep as much gas in the soil as possible. I realize this is a no-till field, so the soil will never be loose. What am I missing?
What brand of anhydrous bar was that?
What do you think of the IH?
Its a biggin, sharp
you guys should demo a magnum
love them case ih magnim
What is the cost for having WS Ag Center apply it vs you doing it yourself
Nearly at 100,000 subscribers 👍
How many acres you have ? And all is no till?
How does a case feel
Finally a good tractor on your farm !!!!!
Carl Wolf The New Holland is a good tractor.
Chase Ragar the t8 is the equivalent to the magnum.
Doing a nice job. I don't see any white smoke behind any of the knives.
Or I mean do you notice any difference between case and John Deere I have only driven a case
How much do you farm?
Does that thing automatically shut off when overlapping?
+Ack and Son It's probably automatic, if not it is manual.
A red tractor on how farms work. What.... Nice they were able to do it for you
I bet the deer hunting around there is awesome.
Is this the field where you (nearly) ran out of fuel chopping stalks?
Thanks, John.
How do you get the spacing between each pass? One would think you overlap the passes by a row but seeing you don't how is it done?
GPS (Trimble, the big screen in the Tractor)
I believe this one is an AgLeader actually
Correct
was that your house?
New sub
I probably should know this but why do you inject anhydrous ammonia in the ground
Welcome to the channel! We inject it so it combines with water in the soil. That turns it into a form of nitrogen that the plants can absorb during the season. It’s similar to broadcasting Urea.
how many acres does your family own ? i like your videos
they run a little over 1000 acres
Ryan my man, you should start a gofundme page ..., because i grew up on a farm and i know farming does not make much money , lots of the times my family would break even , or make tiny profits...but it was always a struggle....if you ever had a gofundme page or something that i could donate some money to you i would glad to do so.
Travis just uploaded him applying it himself
Oisin Kelly what's travis' UA-cam name?
Oisin Kelly whats his channel called
Sean Malone 'the rest of the story'
travis was doing his own fields this is ryan's field
About time you get a real piece of equipment
thats a same model case we got a 340 case wich we use it for mulching trees and a snowplow work with a 24 foot hla blade and it really plows alot of snow
Dont lie lol, on OLF channel you say you only have Kubota
our snow clearing machines is deeres and newhollands and case 340 wich were thinking getting rid of all deeres and newhollands and going all kubota and case
Liar. You said you ONLY have Kubota and would never drive any other tractor because they are shit. Why do you tell lies on the internet?
my kubota and case dealer sold alot of kubota equipment and case farm equipment and the big case excavator and case dozers and loaders and dumptrucks at same dealer wich the deeres have to go seperated dealers wich deeres doent make sence
What did you think of the IH?
There is no IH in this video, what are you talking about?
how many acres can you cover with one tank wagon?
Vicki Poe its just depends on size of the tank how how many units per acre your trying put out.
Sam, what is pretty much standard rate?
if you watched his previous anhydrous videos they ran 34 acres per tank
I wish you would get that tractor
Ah, Ye Olde Red / Green war. It's been going on longer than Blue Oval / Bow Tie War! Even though I drive a Blue New Holland, I Bled RED on my Bow Ties. Remember New Holland started off RED before the Blue Oval got ahold of it.
what was your first reaction to the magnuim
+Matt Grover well it does look pretty good dualled up
magnum *
How Farms Work what's different from your 8235
Nothing runs like a Deere if a Puma is hunting!
The Deere charges the puma
It nice to see a bit of red
How did you like the magnum?
we love ours and done alot of snowplowing this winter with a 24 foot HLA blade wich got from the kubota dealer wich he sells alot of of these including the case construction machines too wich is nice
We love ours too. We did the same thing with the snow blade out front.
We’ve had magnums since they came out... Deere can’t compete
I like it but the tires are to narrow...should have at least 20.8 on it
Those are row tires, designed to press only between the rows, Not where the plant is placed. They are better for easier plant emmersion and eary root grouth, however Im not a fan of them.
I think wider overall tires would distribute the load more evenly and result in less compaction over time. Next year crops will probaly not be inline with last harvest unless you use a mapped 5/6cm accurate gps.
what is ahydrous for?
Fertilizer
so you only farm 30 acres?
+Big Sasquach Just 30 acres of corn this year. 100 beans.
You guys ever side dress 28 % ? Anhydrous is a thing of the past in my area of Ontario.
Well it is better than big blue.
yall need that magnum
looks more like strip till to me. Ryan have u ever planted a cover crop? would u consider planting some?
Not a farmer, are red tractors synonymous for laziness?
yeah you guys needed a nice magnum on your farm even though it ain't yours
thats what we got last year for clearing trees and hauling manure plus we even got a 24 foot hla snow plow with wings on it for plowing snow and its a perfect snowplowing tractor and good size hp for snow removal
i was kinda talking to how farms work
what is Anhydrous
Tiger Rule it is a liquid gas that they use for nitrogen for the crops.
Well youhad the m or h
What's anhydrous ? What does it do ?
It's a source of Nitrogen, one of the 3 most important.
It liquid ammonia. putting nitrogen in the ground.
How Farms Work Does it help growth of something ?
yes the plants need nitrogen to grow.
