    Always loved the smell of fresh earth after a long winter!

    Three of those 340s is a pretty serious fleet. Those tillage tools are being used to move soil both vertically and horizontally, so they're really more of a hybrid between conventional and vertical tillage. They can definitely cover some ground running two at a time. Excellent video again, bigtractorpower!!

    Cool video! Posted some pics of a 235 and an 290 magnum doing some spring tillage by my house yesterday on toytractortimes. Do any of the farms in Kentucky have to spray a burndown early in spring before doing tillage and planting? Over here in cenla all the fields have to be sprayed to kill the weeds and grass that grows over the winter before fieldwork can start.

    I’m spending more time watching your videos because it’s nice to see some field work getting done because it’s so wet here I don’t know when we’ll get in the fields.

      Thank you for watching. It is super wet here this week and more rain on the way. I got a couple good days in early March and now I am waiting on the sunny days.

    Any idea what's causing the dark stripe across the field? Bent disc on one of the 330's?

    Hi, i've been a subscriber for a long while. love what you show us. In the UK the big 4WD's are pretty rare. I'd be really interested in a comparison of big (>350HP) rowcrop tractors vs 4WD's of the same HP. For example JD 8r 410 vs 9420r - Virtually identical HP, but very different machines.. Can the 8r match the 9r? Power to the ground, running costs etc... there's a lot of overlap between the big row crops these days. As a none farmer i'm very interested in how the decision works where there's power overlap.. Thanks again

    There was what looked like a new quad trac that sat on the old railroad bed just up from this field on the bypass this past summer. I figured it was Newtons but it made no sense to park it there for what seemed like a month.

    • @bigtractorpower
      @bigtractorpower  4 роки тому +5

      That is their 620. They park a tractor and disk there every year during harvest. If someone has a combine fire the tractor and disk are kept there to go help put out a field fire for anyone in need. The 620 is on a 2160 planter now.

      @@bigtractorpower makes since, their neighbor had a fire a few years ago and lost a few trucks and a combine. Walton E.

    I'm not a farmer but I like to play Farm Simulator.
    My question is about planting an irregular shaped field.
    Does a farmer try to plant the little triangle shaped spots that get missed at the edge of a field?
    With the game I can just run over those spots and the computer fills everything in. I assume this would actually double seed some spots.
    I am trying to add a bit of realism to my fake farm.

    • @bigtractorpower
      @bigtractorpower  4 роки тому +1

      Good question. On an odd shaped field on a modern tractor and planter the computer also fills in the gaps. The gps only runs the row units where seed needs to go and shuts off the rows were seed has already been placed. On older machines with out row shut off and gps you would double seed.

    • @mfreund15448

      Andrew Inbody aTo add to BTP’s reply. They seed it all because open space get filled with noxious weeds if it is not planted. Weeds will find any space left open.

    they are NOT working in perfect 34 foot width... they are over lapping 3 and half feet on each side.. the need to readjust the width in the tractor setting... you dont need to over lap that much!!!
